one of the most annoying feelings in ADHD is the can't-get-started-with-anything feeling. like, your ADHD is screaming you have to do something. you can't just rest, resting isn't a thing. even if you are resting, it's by doing something.

but nothing works. you try to watch something, it's not right. you can't. read? can't read right now play? nah none of these games seem fun make something? ehh, you're not feeling any of these projects right now social media? it's boring or worse right now, so... find something else it's like you're not moving but it's because you're too tense to do anything, just vibrating in place

Amazing how you can just go on twitter and be like 'i saw a trans woman in public today' and everyone will be like tell us what happened' and you can be like 'well I was in public and there was a woman who I think was trans' and they'll be like and how did that make you feel 'it made me so so uncomfortable' and people will be like did this woman engage with you in any way 'yes she smiled at me and said good morning' and everyone will be like oh noes!! A traumatic experience! You were so so brave about the trans woman! And then major newspapers will publish stories like 'breaking news: trans woman in public making people uncomfortable'. And then if anyone is like 'this is fucking ridiculous' they get called a pedophile.

people are really great at convincing themselves that a problem comes from Scary New Technology when the truth tends to be something a little closer to "this new technology is exacerbating or highlighting pre-existing systemic problems, usually by making exploitation more efficient than it once was". this would be just a mild source of annoyance except for the fact that this leads to bullshit proposed solutions to the problem, such as "Simply Don't Use The Technology" . instead of. y'know. addressing the underlying systems that landed us here in the first place

The inconvenient thing about life is that half of it is all about listening to your body and letting yourself rest, and the other half is accepting that life will be uncomfortable and inconvenient sometimes and you've just go to make yourself push through your brain going Do Not Want and get the discomfort out of the way, and you never know which one it is.

There are gonna be people who won't like hearing this but if you want to live in a world where mixed marriages, families, and adoptions (particularly POC adopting outside their "race") aren't maligned and discriminated against, then you have got to get more chill about seeing someone partaking in something cultural that you don't think fits the "race" you perceive them as.

I’m learning a lot about ancient warfare from this book I’m listening to. I knew some stuff but not about all the nitty gritty bits.

It seems like most of the fighting time was spent with both sides yelling and throwing things at each other because fighting one on one is tiring actually

The most casualties also happen when people try to run away and the enemy starts slashing and throwing stuff at them. The guys who usually died in one on one combat were the most aggressive ones. The guys standing at the back are actually mostly there to stop the guys in the front from running away. Most soldiers didn’t die in battle actually.

Another danger of being in the first row is getting trampled. See the guy in front of you is just trying to get rid of you somehow so he can attack the guy behind you. He might end up just knocking you over. Not killing you. The danger then though is getting stepped on either by the enemy or even the guys on your own side.

Also they took a lot of breaks because they got tired and they likely spent those breaks yelling at each other a lot.

That’s just the battle itself though. It doesn’t take into account the days or weeks beforehand doing marching formations and yelling at each other.
