It starts with the clash of their weapons in her domain — in her expanse. And it probably would have ended with gunmetal eyes staring straight into her soul. Probably. Thyra Thorne challenges every aspect of Karigan Nightingale that emboldens the burning flame in her heart. To her, the sky held freedom and was the very symbolism of it.

It starts with a question, why do you serve? and to which she is answered not with direct words, of course. She finds her answer in what constitutes the barracuda knight. Nothing screams trapped in the way Thyra is so desperate to prove the sky wrong.

It starts with a spark. Karigan says, once upon a time, "The sea is nothing without the sky." For it is the moon that pushed the tides and the winds and clouds that start the storm that could rage for days.

It takes a spark to reignite a smoldering flame. Karigan has not been on the back foot for so long, she had forgotten what it was like to drown.

Perhaps the sky and the sea could never meet. Both terrifying in their own right to the other. It isn't until grey turns to red, and a failed attempt to ascend to godhood that Karigan realises her blood burns hot under Thyra's weight. She catches the subtle shift of eyes downwards. Something that happened more often than Thyra would ever admit.

Karigan discards all sense of reasoning and common sense and threads her fingers through dark tresses. The tug was a little harsher than she intended, but she didn't quite care when she finally tastes the sea with her own lips.

what’s up hoes and foes, it is fenrir lore dump time !! 

kinda all tentative to change the moment SE expands more on the ancient world in 6.0 buuuuut:  

the general gist is that fenrir, during his time existing in the ancient world, spent a lot of the time chained up due to his rapid growth and the speakers of fate foretelling that he had evil inside him. so, the council saw it fit to seal this wolf away for him to starve. since, well, violent tendencies aren’t really approved. 

fast forward to some time after ares’ exile, she frees fenrir who wanted revenge on those who had a hand in chaining him for really no reason as he never did bring harm even as a pup. because ares cannot allow fenrir to go on a whole rampage, they make a pact that until the end of the world — they would bide their time and grow their strength. personally, this is because i enjoy themes of fate and destinies, and a war god that is in a different nature from tyr interacting with fenrir. 

what happens during the end of days is for me to know, however... the legends of the dread wolf and a warrior do endure the test of times, considering how ares found her own people to lead and guide following her exile. in scriptures, old and worn, yet the retelling of their tale ( albiet, reinvented with each generation ) passes down to the present day !
