Headcanon Series #1

→ Bellamy was adopted. Let me explain.

My headcanon:

His biological mother was a very close friend of Aurora’s. This was her second pregnancy and Bellamy would be her second child. She had recently lost her husband and didn’t want to lose the baby, too. He was, after all, a piece of the man she loved. The young woman was terrified. 

So she came to her friend Aurora, begging for help. The two made a pact - Aurora would pretend to be pregnant and as soon as her friend gave birth, she would present the baby as her own. That way the mother could stay close to her baby while keeping them both and her older child safe.

But, as fate would have it, the mother experienced complications during labor. She couldn’t go to doctors because no one knew she was pregnant and it was a second pregnancy, which was illegal. She had no choice but to run with the odds. Sadly, she never recovered. Before dying, she begged Aurora to keep her promise - to keep the baby as her own and keep his origins a secret.

As a tribute to her beautiful friend, who had been of french descent, Aurora decided to name the baby boy Bellamy (beautiful friend in french).

5 years later, however, Aurora got unexpectadly pregnant. 

While she did love Bellamy with all her heart, she couldn’t give up her child. Her own flesh and blood, her little baby... fruit of her love. 

At the end of the day, she knew she would put them all in danger, but decided to keep her baby anyway, knowing she would do whatever was necessary to keep her family safe.
