All activity at the camp seemed to stop as the two out of armor Stormcasts approached each other. Everyone holding their breath as the two well endowed women embraced like old friends, briefly creating surging peaks and deep valleys.

The spell broke as they separated, and the usual hustle and bustle of a war camp rushing in to fill the silence as people suddenly realizing they had things to do.

Another project that I've had lying around for way too long. As you do.

It's a slightly converted Larissa Shadowstalker, one of the old Store anniversary models, with a weapon and head swap. I've never been fan of her polearm, or the shouty head it originally comes with.

The sword pose might not be skallagrim approved, but it looks nice either way.

The sword, and head, is from the same Stormdrake Guard bits I used for my last Stormcast project. At first I tried to greenstuff the sword hand onto the wrist. But after four different attempts, and neither of them looking good, I ended up cutting off the polearm at the hand and gluing the separated sword bits onto the hand instead. The pommel is sliiiightly askew, but nothing you really notice at a glance. Slightly less important, but slightly annoying, is that the sword engravings ended up on the wrong side. But I wasn't going to fuck with plastic glue to fix something that minor.

The painting was a snap. Admittedly it took me two previous attempts to get the armor shading just right. But that's just par on course for my painting these days. But I really enjoy painting Stormcast, more so than Space Marines, mostly because they have a lot more different textures and slightly less flat panels everywhere. Also, after taking the photos I realised I had forgotten to paint in the gems on the chest and sword. Whoops.

The base was a bit of a crapshoot, at first I wanted to do a steppe grass one. But my Stirland mud seems to be running low and that result ended up kinda bad. Then I faffed around a but too much with the flock and decided to scrape everything off. But then after throwing on some Vallejo European Mud instead I thought it looked like a forest floor once I had painted it brown. So I threw on some tea leaves I had and called it quits. Although next time I do it I'm going to use matt varnish instead of watered down PVA glue to lock down the leaves. It ended up looking a bit wetter than I had anticipated.

Also, you wouldn't believe how long I've waited to write that specific lore post. :P

So to drag up this old topic again since I have nothing better to do (Note: A lie) my dream female Stormcast model is a combination of things.

It has to have casual pose, like the ETB Sequitor or Valius from the Callis & Toll box. GW's action poses are very hit and miss to me, so I prefer when they just look ready for action more.

The other key bit is that one hand has to rest on the pommel of their great blade that hangs behind them, much like Calthia Xandire's model does. Can't figure out any other way to carry a greatblade anyway. The other hand can rest on the hip, I haven't figured that bit out yet. But the hand on the pommel is important.

And the head is something like one of the female ones from the Vigilors box. At least a decent amount of hair in a ponytail or braid would be good.

To reach further into wishful thinking I would've liked any other expression other than a frown or such. But GW's sculptors seems unable to remember that other emotions exists in Warhammer.

Also, no cloaks. I hate painting them, and they always end up covering things up. A half-cloak is fine though. Just nothing full length. Either that or fur lining around the shoulders. A wolf head on one of the shoulder pads would've been cool too, since they did model those for the Questor Soulsworn. Then some pouches and other minor doodads, alongside a short blade for back-up. But yeah, this is such an impossible combination of parts that it's never going to happen. And I definitely don't have the sculpting or converting experience to do pull it off myself.

But I'm happy dreaming about it. Maybe one day I'll get art of it. Outside of the face, which I can never figure out the specific details for, I have a pretty clear mental image of what I want at least.

Once again my character ideas for stories involving my Worgen character outstrips my motivation to actually write anything featuring them. Not gonna lie though, the pair of human adventurers ended up looking cuter than I expected. No idea if they need another friend or not. (Leaning on not, trying to write foursomes is a headache I don't want to deal with.)

I still have another orc, a nightborne and (another) high elf character that I decided not to add yet. And why is that? Because of random CASC issues that I get with WMVx. They're really annoying. Mostly because they're random. So random that an outfit that worked before is now broken. And then I can't even use some of the new stuff because of it.

Hoping that the dracthyr model issue will be fixed one day as well.

Fashion/rendering studies continue - big coats and jackets to help me feel better about the weather getting hot and gross. Put Hoshiguma in the outfit on the left since it seemed like her kinda fit.
