I wish I could hold every young black lesbian and let them know they do Not have to be the masculine one , they don’t have to be the strong one, they don’t have to be the taking care of others all the time. We’re also allowed to have people gentle to us , we can be weak and sensitive, we are allowed to be soft and feminine, we don’t have to constantly overcompensate. And the ones that are masculine you deserve to be loved so gently too, you deserve flowers and kisses and love letters. You’re allowed to just be black and pretty and let the world love you.
And the world will love you simply because you exist not by the basis of what you have to offer to others.

How being a femme and genuinely not giving a single fuck about my body hair and bush feels like

Oh, and happy pride to the lesbians that DON’T find terms like ‘femme”, “butch”, “masc”, “stud” etc to be “restrictive” or “putting yourself in a box” and feel deeply connected to their identity/history and use the terms as an extension of themselves. Happy pride to the lesbians that don’t align with any of these labels too and want to just exist, but not if you can’t understand that other people are very happy identifying with them and embrace their history behind it.
