Book Rec - The Persuaders by Anand Giridharadas

The Persuaders is a non-fiction book that challenges the idea that people that hold opposing views from you can't be communicated with.

Each chapter Anand documents his time spent with one or more organisers and their efforts to call people in rather than to call them out. Some of the more instantly recognisable names include Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) but he follows and learns from organisers from a diverse range of backgrounds championing different, yet interconnected, causes.

Compared to other books I've tried to read lately about organising and activism, this is a much more accessible read and it's an easy recommendation for people that want to learn about effective communication that has an overall optimistic vibe.

The pic on the far right was the original concept for this piece more or less. . . Idk I couldn’t get it to work. I think I was inspired subconsciously by like, cat noir, how he’ll sit on his staff with ladybug sometimes.

Anyways since going into the show I knew Macaque would eventually end up an ally, I think was potentially softening his early season 1 and 2 animosity and actions.
