"i think you've missed my birthday for the ummmm," nayoung does a pause, and quick dramatic count. "last few birthdays!" yes, she settles on being so dramatic, which honestly comes naturally up around jino. it's not her or his fault, honestly. it would be a nice break, whatever this was, to take a step away from her training to see a friend. sometimes when she gets too 'in the zone', it gets her a certain way of wound up, until the end of practice and training.
"aiiiiish," nayoung states aloud, loud enough for jino to hear on the phone and in person, the way she hears him before she sees him, turning her phone call off. "you are embarrassing me!" her words say one thing, but she has a big smile on her face as she all but waltzes over to her friend, glancing at the flowers. seriously, where did those come from! not that she's complaining. "are you sure you didn't get those for myself and you are being a world grade actor right now?"
"and there's nothing to spoil...." nayoung glances up at the ceiling, using her negative-500 acting skills. "same old, same old."
“yea — that’s me: lucky, lucky me.”
he’s grumbling now, hoping to god that his reception doesn’t cut out as he’s getting into the elevator — thankfully, by some miracle of god it doesn’t — “ha, you wish it was because of that. wait i didn’t miss your birthday did i? shit, happy birthday, nayoung.” the sarcasm is dripping from his tone, because he knows her birthday isn’t for another day or two.
he settles his phone against the crook of his shoulder and his ear; punching in the floor of the practice rooms allotted for the debuted groups. was it this floor or was it the one below it? a thought that crosses his mind mere seconds after he exits the elevator and looks up and down the hallway before proceeding towards the practice rooms, ducking his head into each window and doorway that allowed him to on his way down.
“wow — and here i thought i had an in, we’ve known each other long enough, shouldn’t i get at least a 5 second spoiler or something?” he laughs, continuing to wander down the hallway until he finds where he was looking for and pops his hand right in with the bouquet; waving it about for someone to see before making his own appearance known, peering into the room before zeroing in on who he was looking for.
“special delivery to nova’s nayoung-씨!”

having journalists ask her about the experience and the film itself was like a gateway into her being a babblemouth. but to be completely frank and transparent, there was a lot she didn't understand, despite being part of the patrons to participate in filming it. hey, it's not like she wrote the damn thing! "i had a lot of fun filming this time around. there was so much mystery. it felt more nuanced, in depth, blurring the lines between reality and surreality. i think you will be able to sense that the participants had a lot of fun this time around, especially since most of us are returning from the last set. i was more comfortable acting this time around. i hope it shows!"
leading in to the next question about how it felt this time in comparison to last, nayoung continued. "i felt more confident in the character i was playing," even if the character went by her namesake. "i felt like i went into detail and went into the mentality of this nayoung, who was stuck in this scenario. i would not have reacted that way had it been genuinely me, do you understand what i mean? it was nice to play a different personality from the person i am in real life."
"also i never really played with a yo-yo before doing this scene. now i won't be able to stop. hopefully it does not annoy the other members in nova. i don't think my generation really grew up without... technology, so we missed a lot of the 'playing outdoors without phones, or computers'. so i would be suspect if everyone had these outdoor hobbies. but it's nice. they let me keep the one i had in the scenes," nayoung chuckles.
"i don't think nayoung was crazy. but if you were also going in a time-loop, wouldn't that throw you off either? inherently not crazy, but going through a difficult time that could tip you over the edge," nayoung slowly drawls, nodding her head. she was very fond of nayoung, even if the other members in the film thought she was insane. "truth be told, i cannot wait to see what happens next."

Is it me or is Nayoung's brand reputation moving through the ranks? She's been in multiple campaigns since her debut, in some NOVA campaigns but also individual ones. This makes sense to me as Nayoung is very marketable and it makes us buy, buy, buy. But lets put the sponsorships and adverts out of the way. Have you guys also gotten to the point where I have, where I am trying to check out articles, following Nova's makeup artist, behind the scenes and vlogs to try to find out what products she might be using genuinely? I think I sneaked a peek at what lipbalm she uses, and there were some glimpses at the type of tea she drinks during her leisurely time. Now I sound like I am taking it too far but tell me you haven't done the same for anyone or anything else!
[ + / - ] i feel you, OP!! i love doing the deep dive. you could even go the next step and at the next fanmeet, or for her birthday (next year), get her a gift and she might use it! what do you think about that idea? [ + / - ] oooooooookay, but using her lip combo isn't going to make you look like her kkkkk, there's really no point to all of this, other than an excuse to spend more money i guess. [ + / - ] i understand! i like following a lot of artists to see what type of makeup they use. even beyond feeling closer to the idol, you learn a lot of good tips and find items this way that i wouldn't have heard about any other way. and you know it works if they're using it!

"it is similar to being a student, if you ever had the pain of being a college student before too. things felt so much more regulated in youth, didn't it? once we are 'on our own'," nayoung says with finger quotes, "it is all over the place. though i don't know how much freedom we have with our schedules here either... keeps me young... or ages me twice as fast," she turns to sangwon with a wistful look, looking like a kicked puppy. "oh no. i'll age twice as fast!"
with nayoung, there is definitely none of the whole 'ice princess' or 'cold, cool and collected' vibe at all, even if some might think she looks that way from a photo. she in fact, was quite the opposite. this is case and point, with how little barrier there is to break down for her, even with someone new she is conversing with. "oh... speaking in your sleep and revealing all the secrets," the idol says with a wiggle of her eyebrows. "or even worse- snoring." she'd hate a video of that. take all the secrets she had to spill "a ..... wrestler mask. i cannot say that thought has ever crossed my mind."
"is it bad to say that i always wanted to be famous in a way?" it is such a common thing nowadays. influencer. social media star. idol. their market was completely oversaturated. "i don't acting was ever something i thought about but at one point i considered voice acting- although i do not know how far i would have gotten. i really enjoying performing in front of an audience. a live audience, especially. did you ever consider being anything other than an actor?"
"I'd have to agree..." He could get behind the comfort level that a weighted blanket would provide. "I don't recommend falling asleep with a heated blanket, but I guess, wouldn't they come with timers? I'm sure companies have thought of everything for liability purposes." Perhaps, he was thinking a bit too deeply about this blanket debate. Her confession has him holding back a smile, nodding his head in acknowledgment. It was a fear that was probably shared by most people. "I was going to say that your sleep patterns are absolutely out of the ordinary. I've heard of the schedules performers have to follow. I wouldn't be able to fully exist if I followed your schedule."
"I always wonder if I speak in my sleep. I'm more afraid of that than someone taking a picture of me sleeping." He reveals with a soft laugh, grabbing the pack of gum from the pocket of his jacket and popping one into his mouth before he offers the plastic sleeve to the artist. "I do hope that you're surrounded by people that would understand that you wouldn't like those type of pictures taken, but I could see some people finding it harmless. Have you thought of wearing a mask?" He suggests, purely out of his own amusement. "A nicely decorated wrestler mask. No one would think you're under it."
"Actually, I did want to focus more on musicals, but if I'm completely honest. I don't have the training yet. I would have to work really hard, which I'm not opposed to..." Starting off with a clean slate seemed too vulnerable for him, but he knew that the agency wouldn't be opposed to it if he really did make up his mind. "It's a bit more daunting than being in front of a camera, I suppose. A completely different beast, which I'm sure you know as you do both. What got you into wanting to be a performer?"

nayoung shot miyu a very serious look for a moment before laughing with her friend, unable to hold the expression for long. "i think you know me too well. hmmmm," she says, putting her phone away. she continues to swing the yoyo, but this time it does spin out and she has to reel the entire thing back by hand. the worst. but it was a funny thing for the drama, and she's happy learning new things for projects, even if ti didn't necessarily coincide with her personality. "quitting using the phone cold turkey?"
"not possible. i mean we are barely on it when we're practicing and recording. but immediately, what is the first thing we do riiiight after?" she flips open her phone again to look at the screen time. "this is funny, i cannot believe i am on Pinterest this much, what does that mean? and google chrome... i thought i would have been on kakaotalk the most." her corners of her mouth turn, and she looks at miyu. "what about you?"
”it don’t think it sounds like you’re bragging,” miyu looks over to nayoung with a cheeky smile. “you are bragging!” she teases the older girl, laughing and lightly bumping into the other with her shoulder.
her eyes focus on the picture that nayoung has pulled up to show her. miyu’s brows furrow as she examines the yoyo, thinking about whether she had seen anything similar before. she shakes her head, indicating she bad never seen or heard of what the other girl just showed her.
“i think i’d be able to survive without my phone, but . . .” she trails off, biting her lip while looking down towards the device sitting on the chair next to her. “it would be hard,” miyu finally lets out a breath. “it would feel weird at first but i could get used to it, i think. i don’t think i can quit cold turkey, though,” she lets out a laugh.

nayoung hums a little, "i don't actually have a heated or weighted blanket. both sound like really nice luxuries to have though... but i guess a weighted blanket doesn't come with the warning signs of fires," she laughs a little. the pocket warmer was so cozy, and she needs to stop playing with it. turning to sangwon, she wrinkles her nose in thought. "i mean... i shouldn't. it might mess up my sleep patterns this evening," she says as an excuse. there's a long pause before she darts her eyes away. "okay, the real reason is what if someone snaps a picture of me while i'm sleeping? i would probably look ridiculous."
she has seen too many of those 'happy birthday' posts where the photos were extremely candid and that is definitely not what she wants. scratching a little at her jaw, she stifles a yawn. somehow with the trainee regime, and idol lifestyle, tired becomes second nature. "this is true, you are right. i never realized that before until you pointed out the schedule." it's awful but nayoung does not really watch shows or dramas, and this is something she has learned for today, and she likely would not un-learn. "i am taking recommendations if you have any," she trails off, glancing at sangwon. nayoung figures that actors would know a bit more than she would.
"i was surprised, especially when we first debuted, at how much acting we would do! it was not something i thought i would ever do... i don't have a real preference but mini series seems fun," granted she's no main actress, but she's happy to be here. "glad you're here with us for your first shoot, truly. we can stay friends after this and perhaps i'll be following your next few dramas too! or were you more interested in stage work or musicals?"
"I'll be honest. I underestimated them and used multiples, but it was surprisingly hot, especially if you put in the pockets of your coat." His suggestion would have come with extra warning that his hands did break into a sweat. However, that seemed like too much information to divulge to a stranger. "Is that safe?" He questions, raising a brow with curiosity. "I guess it's similar to a heated blanket. I just don't know if I would trust it on my face." He confesses with a soft laugh, humming in agreement when she brings up how much she wanted to nap. "Would you not be able to nap?"
"Someone could wake you up when you're needed on set..." He envied people that could fall asleep in new environments and rather quickly. He would need complete silence, absolute darkness, and about half an hour to toss and turn. He wondered if that will change when he had long shoot days, but he wasn't a stranger to sleeping very little and surviving weeks on intermittent napping. "Spring and Fall would be the best seasons to shoot, but most releases are usually during those seasons so it makes sense to shoot during Winter and Summer. I would much rather shoot in Winter. I can't imagine how miserable it is in the Summer..."
He is quite shocked at how much he is rambling on with Nayoung. He wasn't known to hold a conversation for long, but she had intrigued him with the introduction of a new topic. "It's my first time shooting a film as an actor. It's a bit overwhelming. I'm trying to grasp everything going around me, but I'm having fun." He glances at her with a fleeting smile, sticking his hands into the pockets of his jacket. "Your group dabbles quite a bit with acting. Do you prefer a film like this, or a mini series?"

nayoung snickers, as she observes miyu with the yoyo. to be honest, she had practice with Chinese yoyos back in taiwan, but they were completely different. maybe it helped with the 'dynamics' of playing with this type of sling up and down yoyo. not that she could do any of the super fancy tricks though -- but maybe one day. "does it sound like i am bragging if i say no," nayoung laughs. "i definitely did play with some different types of yoyos, i'm not sure if you've heard of this kind?"
nayoung flicks her phone screen on to do a search before showing her this, unsure if other cultures also had similar things. "this pocket type seems more convenient though," she says, taking out the yoyo again into her palm. "but i understand what you mean. i sometimes think that we should really get less screen time and go back to our roots a bit more... but i also cannot imagine doing things without the phones. we've become so dependent on them!"
━━ nova iuventa ◞ yoyo.· ( @lgcnayoung )
“how do you do this?” miyu asks with a chuckle, eyes going up and down as she plays with the yoyo. ultimately, she’s not as skilled as nayoung. the string gets tangled together and she laughs again, harder this time. the dancer admits defeat, giving the toy back to the eldest nova member.
“did it take you long to learn?” she asks with a tilt of her head. “or were you always good?” miyu laughs. “i never really played with yoyos when i was a kid. did you? it brings back some kind of nostalgia, though,” she says with a faint smile, eyes aiming towards the toy. “bringing us back to a non-technological age,” she laughs again.

"aigoo, wasn't it fun? i certainly had fun. how is that for a first date, yes? i was quite proud with the choice i had selected for the location but in hindsight, i hope it was not too 'much'," nayoung nods slowly as she ponders on the decision to go to a rage room. it feels... peculiar as a choice, but she stands by it. nayoung enjoyed it way more than she initially thought she would. "i thought it would be a not traditional hang out for two people to really let go of their inhibitions and live in the moment. it is quite intriguing to be locked in a room while dressed down and being on a mission together. at least that is how noeul and i treated it. incorporating our own sort of storyline into the activity made it even more engaging!"
"i hope that a second date is in the works for us, so here's hoping for that. i hope you hear the sound waves i am sending you in your direction," nayoung says to no one in particular as she does a movement with her hands to indicate wavelengths or soundwaves, but maybe somewhere out there, noeul can catch the sentiment.

"we are here... to.. fight!" nayoung laughs, holding out the mallet to tap it with noeul's weapon, a bit dramatic but truly, this episode for any viewers was probably going far in one extremity of a direction. no matter the ratings, she thinks that noeul and her make for a fun, cohesive pair and she's truly thankful that they're not bumping heads at all ( not that she foresaw that happening anyway... ) it would be silly if they had to film the two of them on opposite ends not interacting, but she's thankful noeul goes along with it, so here they begin in the corner.
"i would never want to be the one that dies first, a tragedy," nayoung admits, and she figures the two of them have given enough preamble and lead up to the fun, as she raises her mallet after a nod towards noeul, and she gasps loudly. when it smashes into an old coffee pot, she feels like she's doing something wrong, but it also feels so enlightening. "it feels wrong, yet right. is that strange? like it is something i should not be doing." yet she cannot help but raise her weapon again, to continue again with another hit. she turns to noeul, watching him too.
After appearing and hosting his own variety shows, he knew that being genuine to who he was as a person was the easiest way to power through a recording. However, he had forgotten that a dating show was an entirely new beast than being a personality led show. He had to sell a fantasy with his partner, which he wasn't quite sure on how to do that but he figures that the assignment is near acting with a dash of his personality sprinkled throughout. His only saving grace was that he had lucked out with Nayoung. He had been worried that his pairing would be uptight or awkward in the sense of their mannerisms.
His lips part to answer her question, but he allows her to speak. He is thankful as he was going to suggest the complete opposite of heading in different directions. Ah, yes... It was a dating show after all. He nods his head, smiling at her before adjusting the helmet on his face. "I did say I would follow your lead, right?" He holds the bat over his shoulder, eyeing the pile of rubble awaiting to be decimated by the two of them. "It really does feel like we're in an post-apocalyptic room hiding from zombies." He steps on a broken cellphone, glancing down with curiosity. "Would you flee, or fight?"

"oh my gosh!!!" nayoung makes a soft squeal at the reference to thor. "i am worthy," she laughs waving the mallet around a little, but not too dangerously. that's what the rage room was for. "thank you," she says, walking in to the room. after all, she has to have manners and there's somethings and antics that are better left for off-camera exchanges. she realizes that she can't be all loud and crazy, although the setting really did call for it right now - but she also didn't want to come off too restrained. something about nayoung of nova... just called for genuine behaviour, where the cool image was totally out of the window, wasn't it? oh well.
"alright, i think we've got a time limit... did you want to go from the same corner or opposite? i think it might be more fun if we tackle it like we are on a mission together!" the door closes behind them with a hiss and click, and nayoung does a bouncy giddy movement. "okay, lets head to... that end!" she points and walks towards the far end, where there seems to be a pile. it honestly was like a very chaotic maze. "it feels like i'm in a dystopian zombie show."
"I guess we do have to work up to that one. It's a bucket list item kind of activity, hm?" He re-examines his idea out loud, soft laugh accompanying his words when he spots the expression on her face. He drops the bat down to safely hold it, resting the end on his sneaker. Her nods his head in acknowledgment, smile lingering on his lips when she hands over the mallet. "It's surprisingly light, easy to grip. So, you don't need to use both hands, but it'll probably be safer to do so."
"You can be like Thor!" Her comparison was much more endearing, lifting the mallet like a hammer in the air before playfully faking a drop. He hands the mallet back to safer hands, tapping the bat against the toe of his sneakers. "I think I'm going with the trusty bat." He heads in the direction of the first room, holding the door open for her. "I'll follow your lead."

she gasps at the thought of skydiving, but she wasn't necessarily an adrenaline junkie. it made her partially excited but also a bit in shock at the idea of doing it. "ahhh, wow going straight from... i guess this isn't stage one on the scale. alright, the bar is high!" she laughs lightly, turning towards noeul and peering at the options. "oh my gosh, look at this mallet. it feels like i'm kirby when he's the hammer guy," nayoung picks it up. it had a good weight but was less heavy than she imagined. "i'm tempted to go with this. but i think its best to try out a few first before jumping straight into it..."
"like test driving a car." nayoung mumbles, handing the hammer over to noeul for him to try. she grapples at the other weapons of choice for a bit before going back to the mallet. "i think i am convinced to go with this one. or the bat. yep! what about you?" she holds the mallet excitedly, one step closer to actually engaging with the rage room. she doesn't feel self-conscious around noeul which is a great thing, but she does have to be mindful that they are on camera and everything is captured on camera.
He nods his head in acknowledgment to her other suggestions, finding them acceptable alternatives, but rather safe. He appreciated that she followed through with her idea. It was unique place to have a first date. "Ah, should we go for skydiving on our next date?" He suggests with a faint smirk, finding it futile to pretend to be someone he is not. Anyone that was familiar with his antics on variety shows would know that there was very little filtering. It would be hilarious whether or not Nayoung rejected another date by the end of their current one. His only goal was to make her laugh and forget the camera was on them. "But that might require a waiver to be signed. I guess, we can work out the logistics when it's my turn to plan the date..."
A smile forms on his lips, silent laugh following afterwards. "Between us, wouldn't there now be eight eyes to account for? He follows behind her, fussing with the pair of gloves. He appreciated that the rooms were temperature control considering with so many layers of protecting he would be sweating. His hair was going to be a mess when he removes the helmet later on. "A bat seems the most fun." He picks up the bat covered with stickers, gripping the handle firmly to feign an expert swing. "Which one will you decide on? Oh, look! A golf club..."

The latest CF Kim Nayoung was in... Take my heart! You have it! Everytime I spot a commercial or advert of her, I think my heart swoons. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ She's honestly a perfect model for... ANYTHING! If she's selling it, I'm buying it. That's right. You've got me in my new jeans, wearing her contact lenses and now...eating the breads from Passion5. I got to see her at the last fanmeet and HER FACE IS SO SMALL... Do you really eat these breads, Nayoung?!
[ + / - ] I wouldn't have believed that she ate foods like this but if you take a peek during any vlogs or behind-the-scenes, she is usually eating something in the background. Nayoung is a very suitable model for Passion5! [ + / - ] There is no way idols eat this stuff! Carbs aren't good for you in high quantities... It's all for the cameras and contracts lol. [ + / - ] Nayoungieeee, I will buy anything you sell me...... I am just like you OP... HAHA... (No seriously, the loaf is great for sandwiches)

her hand goes to her mouth at the comment of being impressed, and she's happy that noeul is not displeased by her choice of location. "its fun to step outside of the box!" she doesn't want to be too bold and mention a 'next time' when they've barely interacted at the date yet, about taking a calmer alternative if necessary... they'll have fun, nayoung will try her best. "i don't think i'd enjoy a sporty date if that makes sense? is this a sport? but i mean like..." she drops her voice to a low, dramatic whisper. "golfing. or bowling. although mini-golfing doesn't seem too bad... but there's many other things i'd rather try."
safety first. she starts to put on the attire, and the helmet. oh. and goggles. "so glamorous. and many extra layers," she hands a pair of goggles to noeul too. "four eyes are better than two. i don't think that is how that goes.. oh! which room will we be going to today?" the pair got led to one of the rooms after they were fully dressed. oh wow. nayoung wonders how they customize every single room, but this was going to be eventful. definitely not a time for glam here. maybe she should have picked something like ice skating... but image be gone! nayoung is here to have fun. "o-ohhhhh, look! they even have different items we can use for this. which one do you want?" pointing to the bats and 'weapons' on the side, her eyebrows raised - not that anyone could see.
He follows the crew inside the cramped lobby, closing his eyes in anticipation of coming face to face with his date. He wonders if his guess was correct, but her voice undeniably matched the person in his mind. He bites the inside of his cheek, amused by her excitement being so palpable between them. He pivots on his right foot, facing her properly with his eyes wide open. He follows her lead, greeting her properly with a casual bow of his head. "Rather than feeling surprised, I think I'm more impressed by your choice of date." He glances around the lobby, silently wondering what awaited the two of them in the floors above them. "Actually, I've always wanted to do something like this..."
"Not that I have a lot pent up frustration," He blurts out the bold faced lie with a fitting smile. "...-but the activity seems rather fun? Being allowed to do something that you're not supposed to do..." He confesses with a widening smile, trail of thought interrupted by the attendant who is determined to run through the rules for them to get the camera out of his face. He grabs a hold of the coveralls and safety gear for both of them, only leaving the helmet to her since his hands were full. He was thankful the location allowed for him to act more natural, but he had seriously lucked out with being paired with Nayoung. He knew better than to break the illusion of a first date, motioning for her to put on her gear over her clothes first. "Do you prefer more active dates?"

nayoung likes that it isn't always the same set cast for the episodes... ouroboros. very cool. eye opening. she didn't necessarily always fully grasp the entire script but that gave her more reason to pore through it in her free time. ( other than comics and magazines... she really didn't get all that far into reading. ) there is someone new that she shares quite a few point plots with in her limited role. while not essential to actually talk to such co-stars off screen, she finds it hard not to. maybe she's not acting like a professional actress? but what does a professional actress act like?
turning to face sangwon, shes smiles softly at the offer. "oh! i haven't used hand warming versions of these before. do these work well?" she has definitely heard of them, and only has used the sleeping mask types. "thank you so much. i've heard of this type of material being used in sleep masks before... to toast your eyes up and make you lull off to sleep. i could use a nap right about now," she covers her mouth to hide a large small yawn. "i understand that filming goes year round but i cannot help but think it would be so much nicer to film during the spring and fall seasons," she sighs a little. "guess this is just our luck though!"
"are you enjoying the shoot?" its a little bit of small-talk initially, but surely they would break more into more chitter-chatter once they broke the ice.
newcomer
It was during their downtime on set that he hoped he could be a bit more outgoing. He felt completely out of place, lingering closer to the production staff rather than the rest of the actors. Arguably, he could try to interact with the rest of the cast, but he was terrible at casual conversations. He had watched the web-series out of curiosity when he was casted, but he had to admit the premise for the short film had intrigued him far more. He was enthusiastically waiting to see all the scenes come together for the final project. With such a short turn around, he wanted to smoothly finish shooting his scenes without any trouble.
While waiting for the lighting to be adjusted by the crew, he returns from roaming down the hallway out of boredom. He spots Nayoung by the entrance, briefly glancing away to stare at the scoreboard fixed above the basketball hoop. He had to admit that he view the artists in the company to have a different aura about them, but the Nova members seemed to be authentically themselves, which he could appreciate. He was happy for his preconceived notions to be proven wrong, especially by @lgcnayoung. He walks by the crafts table, grabbing several hand warmers to stick them in the pocket of his jacket.
"I didn't think it could get colder, but someone accidentally left the emergency door open." He understood that insulating the indoor gym was pointless, but he despised the smell of the portable heaters to stand in front of it. "I have extra-" He doesn't finish his sentence, offering the extra hand-warmers still in the packaging to the idol. "Would you like one?"
