"Oh definitely," Soyoun agrees. She can imagine how many times the floor directors and the cameramen had to run through this just to get to their spots in time for the right shot. "They must have rehearsed this too many times. They've worked hard, and it came out beautifully." If ever they get caught talking on camera, at least those who would dissect their actions would see that they were complimenting the team. At least, Soyoun hoped they'd see it that way.
Although she's listening to the host and paying attention to the program, she's still talking to Ichika. "Oh what I would give to see one of the broadcast companies at home do it," she says with a small smile. "With K-Pop going global and also trying to win back prestige among the local commoners, one would like to put on a show just to become more relevant." She's aware that most people back at home think K-Pop is for children, but she wants to prove them wrong. A spectacle like this one would be a step in that direction. "It'll be viral as long as executed properly," Soyoun says, subtly nodding. "It would be fun to participate in something like this, wouldn't it?"
It's not the first time they've ever participated in Japanese award shows, but Soyoun is grateful for the experience each time. It's nice to know that their work is being recognized outside Korea. It'a humbling but gratifying fact to know that they have done enough to be invited to these award shows.
Soyoun claps along when everyone else does, making sure to show her polite enthusiasm to the cameras. The audiences at home prefer a mild-mannered and demure idol, so Soyoun gives them that. It was a beautiful opening number; Soyoun will admit. When the focus is back on the host, Soyoun then turns to Ichika. "Yes, it was. I was impressed with how they managed to make it look seamless," she says, nodding at the cameramen. "I have to give it to the cameramen for running around to make it look smooth."
She has a lot more thoughts about it, but this isn't the right time or place for them. "I also liked the narrative they put together, too. That's something I'd like for us to get to do back home..."

FROM: @lgchyejoo
Laughing with them, Soyoun playfully pouts before turning serious in thought. "I had a love-hate relationship with school. I wasn't exactly the best student either, but I worked hard," she finally admits with as much seriousness as was reasonable for a light topic. "But I kept myself busy with lots of extra-curricular activities like art club, fashion club, and the dance club, so I still had a lot of good memories."
Nodding along with Kyoka and Hyejoo, Soyoun adds to her story. "I can relate to the excitement of getting new notebooks and setting goals, too." She pauses, chuckling before another memory comes to her. "But I was most excited to decorate my scheduler. People always said I had the prettiest timetables in my class." She deserved to flex her minor achievements and drop some Astrid lore for the fans.
"If people needed to draw something for a class competition or for the festivals, I'd often be the one in charge of it, so I spent a lot of my time drawing, painting, or taking care of our entire class' outfits," she admits with a laugh. "Was it like that for you, as well? Did they make you sing or dance to represent your classes in competitions, too?"
YOUR TURN: @lgckyoka
"I... cramming my homework I think, I wasn't a very good student," Kyoka admits freely, if somewhat bashfully, "Survived, but barely, do not recommend. Math was horrible." The sole benefit of having her handwriting drilled in was that unexpectedly pretty handwriting aside, Grandma could help her with some of her kanji copying without raising too much suspicion.
"That was elementary and middle school, after that it was just practice I think, I would help out at the studio in my free time so I was already practicing before the school year started if that makes sense? And after that I worked a bit before joining the company I mean, so not much changed." Eager to veer the conversation away from herself, Kyoka turns to @lgchyejoo: "I didn't finish school though, I'm sure Youngwon-sama has more to say."

Spring Breeze
LGC CHARMS JAPAN with @lgchyejoo and their guest: @lgckyoka
Hosting a radio show isn't new to Soyoun. She's already done it with Hanwoo Radio back then, so she supposes it's the same here. The only difference is that she'll be doing it in Japanese. Thankfully, she's not alone and has someone to bounce off ideas and energy with.
"Good evening, and welcome to LGC CHARMS JAPAN: THE RADIO!" Soyoun says as they open tonight's episode. After all the necessary introductions are done, Soyoun then turns her attention to Hyejoo.
"In honor of spring, tonight's episode will be all about springtime traditions!" Soyoun says as she playfully claps her hands. "Spring usually means a lot of new beginnings, right? That's why in Japan, the school year begins in the spring. It's a similar case back in Korea," she says as she looks at her notes. "Kyoka, what was preparing for a new school year like for you? At least before you joined the company."

[#🌸ASTRID] UNIVERSE POST
What’s a job you’d like to try aside from your current profession?
It's not a secret that I'd love to be a fashion designer! I graduated from Ewha University back in 2020 with a Fashion Design degree, after all. But okay, fine, that's an obvious answer.
If you wanted another answer, then I guess I can say I'd like to try being a museum curator. Art is another thing I'm passionate about, and I'd love to help a museum curate its collection accordingly and tell a story through the paintings, sculptures, and other art pieces they've acquired -- legally of course -- and help the visitors see the vision the museum has.

@lgcsoyoun
They’ve been to award shows before, this isn’t even the first award show this year, but there’s still something… different about attending one geared toward the Japanese industry. It’s neither good nor bad, but different, almost uncanny. But enjoyable. There’s no doubt about that.
As the opening show wraps up on the screen, she claps along with the rest of the attendees and audience. Briefly, she catches a camera in her direction and she politely smiles before it moves. She doesn’t know for sure if that moment will be shown on broadcast but it was best practice to be polite. When the clapping subsides and the hosts take the reigns of the show, she settles into her seat and turns her head to talk to the member to her left, Soyoun. “The camera work and settings were really nice, weren't they?”
It would have been a treat should they have been included, but considering the people featured were all of Japanese descent, they understood why that wasn’t the case.

IF YOU LIKE ME, BLINK TWICE
Now I'm back from hiatus, I think it's a good time to do this. Feel free to take any you're interested in. I am more available via Twitter and Discord, which are both available upon request.
Fashion Terrorist - ANY AGE, ANYONE WHO WAS A TRAINEE FROM 2017 - 2021
Ever since Soyoun joined Legacy, she offered styling and clothing repair services for trainees for a small but reasonable fee. Although she doesn't have time to fix clothes or give style tips because she's so busy, but she wouldn't mind helping you out whenever you need it.
To. X - MALE, MUST HAVE BEEN PART OF TYPE ZERO WHEN DAEHO WAS STILL IN LGC, OR FRIENDS WITH DAEHO
It's been a while since the boys Soyoun loved before had left. Enter you, someone who is friends with the ghosts of her past. Although Soyoun and Daeho parted ways amicably, Soyoun still can't bring herself to look at anyone who reminds her of him. You have to work together on a thing, but for some reason, Soyoun refuses to look you in the eye. Whether you want to figure out why or not is completely up to you.
Switch - ANYONE
As a chronic online shopper, Soyoun isn't a stranger to getting packages. However, for some reason your order ends up with her while you receive her limited-edition paint order. Soyoun solemnly swears she's not stalking you or trying to delay switching items (she wants her paint, too!). She's just so busy with her schedules, so you both struggle to figure out how to get your respective items back.
Do It Again - MUST BE A TRAINEE IN 2017
Soyoun's first-ever evaluation was nothing short of being meme-worthy... At least according to anyone who has seen it. So now you can't help but ask Soyoun to her dinosaur impression again every time you meet that Soyoun now greets you with it every time.
Dun Dun Dance - ANYONE
One of the things Soyoun likes doing is learning different dance styles. As she joins a dance workshop for a new dance style (maybe tutting, waacking, or something), you're in the same class. Though you have similar or different reasons to be there, this could be the beginning of a new friendship.
Also, if you want to plot, I am more than happy to do it!

Dear Name
It's your girl Soyounaaaaaaah from the future, oh yeah! But you can call me Astrid.
I know what you're thinking. You're on the verge of quitting after that disaster of an evaluation minutes ago. You're wondering whether you even made the right choice by signing that contract weeks ago. You semi-regret auditioning for Legacy. You're asking yourself why you even accepted that casting agent's card at the Paris Baguette you were working at. That's valid, but trust me when I say your life is just about to begin.
When I tell you that evaluation is what will help figure out how to set yourself apart from the other girls in the future, I know I will sound crazy to you. But I swear, you are going to be one of the variety idols everyone will watch out for... and you'll only think of that because of the coaches' encouragement. Yes, that assessment you get earlier is their weird way of encouraging you. Trust me. You'll even win awards for being your crazy, funny, and dorky self. Believe it or not, the people actually like it? Embrace your cringe-worthy self for what it's worth.
It'll take quite a long time, but you'll also be doing a few survival shows before finally debuting as a member of Crystallis. Yes, you will make the as a member of Legacy's first girl group after Blazing. Shocking, I know. Sure, we weren't the most talented or the prettiest when we got there, but I swear, we will somehow manage to juggle being a university student AND an idol trainee. I guess I can safely assume that both your optimism and your work ethic are what will help you catch up with the more talented girls. You'll even be on the same level as that scarily talented dancer in your training group... and she will also be one of the group mates you cherish with your life.
I know the dream was to eventually become Schiaparelli's creative director, but considering our present-day occupation, that's not in the cards. But would being their brand ambassador be an acceptable alternative?
Unfortunately, our love life is kind of in the trenches. We'll fall in love with some cute boys in the company, but one thing is the same, all those boys will leave us behind. Enjoy their company for what it's worth, but don't expect them to stay. It's not your fault. Don't ever think it is. They just happen to have goals that the company can't help them fulfill. I like to think that they would have wanted to stay with us all the way if they could. But honestly? I know we'd also do the same in their shoes. Don't be too hard on both yourself and them, Soyoun.
I just need you to not quit, okay? I know everything is so overwhelming and unfamiliar, but trust me, it's all worth it. Not only do you get rid of those girls who bullied you, but you are also just about to begin a life-changing journey. Those girls and boys who bullied you before will soon turn into clout-chasers, trying to get you to notice them. But I just want you to keep going, enjoy the journey, and cherish every opportunity because these chances only come to a chosen few... and trust me when I say you are special in ways we both don't fully understand.
Love you, forever and always, Crystallis' Astrid

Min Soyoun - Practice Interview
when you want to do something, do you dream about it or do you take action?
"It depends on the action in question. If it's something unserious or doesn't have any grave immediate consequences, like being playful on camera, I immediately act on it. Of course, that is if I have the means to do so. However, for things that have more serious repercussions, such as dating or anything that could possibly violate my artist contract, I tend to just sit back and dream since acting on these impulses won't do me any good." (78 words)
what would make you happiest: wealth, power, peace, or love?
"Peace. It's a boring answer, I fear, but please hear me out. Peace is often under-appreciated compared to the other options given. But I also think in the end, peace is what we all want. What's the use of having so much money, power, or love when you're living in fear of having someone stab you in the back? That's why I'd rather go with a peaceful life, where I'm free to do what I like, breathe, and live according to my terms, even if it means having to share money and power or making sacrifices for love…" (98 words)
which do you find more appealing: to be loved, to be admired, or to be feared?
To be loved. In line with my answer of wanting a peaceful and honest life, I guess to be loved makes the most sense. Genuine love, no matter what kind it is, doesn't fade away, no matter what happens. Being admired can end as soon as you do something that goes against people's personal tastes or beliefs. Being feared, although amusing at first, in the end, will only have people resenting me and secretly plotting my downfall instead of uplifting me like I want to do for them. And being loved assures me that there is someone out there who will make things possible for my sake, which in it self, is a kind of sincerity admiration or fear can't replicate. (121 words)
what is at the top of your professional bucket list?
I'd like for Crystallis to become the next nation's girl group! I grew up watching and listening to BLAZing sunbaenim, and I've seen their impact on the industry. I want Crystallis to become for the next generation of idols what BLAZing sunbaenim were for me. I dream of having our songs being known all over the country and all over the world that we eventually become one of the nation's representative girl groups when talking about bringing pride to the country and leaving a lasting legacy even when we're no longer active as a team… which will hopefully be many, many, many years from now.

As the camera clicks, she sees the surprise in Ichika's eyes, so she supposes they captured the playfulness in her own. Mission accomplished. It would make a cute picture, assuming this gets chosen for the photoset. This is meant to be fun as it is a gift for the fans, so Soyoun does all she can to give the fans exactly what they want. At Ichika's question, Soyoun laughs. "Never. But I have to pretend once in a while. Keeps things exciting, right? Never let them know your next move and all."
Smirking, she shrugs at Ichika. "Maybe, maybe not." This is a game, after all. She had ended up going with a strawberry compote and umeshu white chocolate ganache combination for hers, based on her fondness for strawberries and desire for something rarely used with chocolate. She picks up one that is definitely not her own, playfully sniffing and inspecting it, providing the photographers with more humorous candid shots. "I smell alcohol in this one," Soyoun says with a soft chuckle before she takes a bite large enough to be caught by the cameras. "Sake? Could be Yu— Cleo?" But this is white chocolate. Her knowledge of Yuxi makes her think Yuxi wouldn't be caught dead recommending white chocolate. "No, that's not it." Pouting her lips, she adds. "Maybe yours, Yamapi?"
Hot Mess
@lgcichika
Posing with food is nothing new to Soyoun, but she has to admit this is the second time she'll be posing with something she actually made. (The first would be the birthday cafe treats, by the way.) As she looks at the chocolate box they're meant to pose with, she wonders if she can actually open one. She admittedly has two reasons behind this: to get a better photo and to see what the other girls came up with.
Focusing on Ichika, Soyoun decides to pose cutely for the cameras by going cheek to cheek with their leader. "Incoming," she jokingly warns as she wraps an arm around Ichika's. In between takes, Soyoun then picks up the chocolate they're meant to be posing with. "Not to sound like a child, but let's make a game out of this, shall we? If we're allowed to open and eat these, let's guess which chocolate belongs to which Crystallis member."

"Fruit tea, please," Soyoun easily says. "If rose tea is available, that. Otherwise, white grape or peach is okay. Worst-case scenario, soy milk tea, please." Soyoun isn't in the mood for anything too sweet tonight, so she opted for a nice fruit tea. Besides, she has stuff to prepare for, so she could use something more refreshing than actually sweet. Soyoun usually enjoys trying new flavors, but she needs something familiar as she works on this upcoming project.
"I've come across the trainees since I'm the mentor of a special workshop," she says gesturing to the pile of papers she's working on for tomorrow's group session. "A lot of them have arrived after we made our debut. Then I met a new trainee at the convenience store near our first dorm building back then... She's now an actress and a friend... I'm not sure if you've met her? Kim Cherry? Really sweet girl though."
Shaking her head, Soyoun sighs. "It depends on what happens at the location. I would hope they at least let us fix our faces before they pretend to wake us up... But I have a feeling we'll really be woken up, so it might be my actual bare face for the world to see." Shuddering, Soyoun only knows that it will be out of town and far away from civilization. She has no idea what else is in store for her. "That's true. We'll find out the location tomorrow, so we can pack accordingly. I'm curious to see what the show is all about and why it has to be out of town. I hope it's somewhere fun."
"That's the plan. I just need someone to make sure it's deployed and it arrives at the right location," Soyoun admits with a chuckle. "I'll probably ask one of the other girls, so at least it can come from not just me but Crystallis as a whole. Gotta avoid the just coworker allegations." Soyoun laughs as she claps her hands. It's a joke, referencing something she has often seen when monitoring their group's social media impact on the fans. "We can't have the fans saying we're not supporting our award-winning actress."
"that’s easy," jaehwa replied confidently, already scrolling through the app. there were only a handful of reputable bubble tea shops nearby, and she quickly spotted one just a few blocks away. her thumb moved swiftly across the screen as she browsed. "what are you craving? fruit tea or milk tea?" she asked, glancing up. the only downside to bubble tea these days was the overwhelming number of new menu items. every time a store launched a new seasonal creation, it became harder for her to settle on a favorite.
she let out a soft chuckle, recalling how she'd wandered around the set earlier and was greeted with polite bows from new staff members and juniors. “i don’t think we’ll ever cross paths with them, honestly,” she said with a casual shrug. “the only time idols and actors meet is usually during the company’s family concert. even then, i doubt they’ll drop by backstage unless they have a reason to.”
“you’re going all out?” she grins, eyebrows raised in amusement. “then why not bring your cushion too? that’s like… the last line of defense for any idol before we’re totally barefaced.” jaehwa chuckles, patting her own compact in her bag. of all her makeup, the cushion is her must-have as it blurs imperfections and gives her just enough of a confidence boost. “not going home for a few days doesn’t sound that bad, though. it’s like an unplanned vacation, right?”
“or just pre-order it,” she adds. “all you need is someone to make sure it arrives." for someone who’s never actually sent a food truck before, jaehwa’s just guessing how it works. but the moment she figures it out, she’s set on sending one to her fellow members and friends. “whoever is more reliable? i'm sure all of them are.”

It's nice to just get to talk to the other members like this, especially the ones she doesn't have years of history and memories with, such as Yujin. She likes to think them becoming roommates has unlocked a new level of friendship between them, and this exchange of lore is one of the perks with this new level.
"Lucky you," Soyoun says with a shake of her head. "It's happened to my family and me so many times, but we've learned to become more careful... Especially when we'd visit our cousins in Europe." She scowls at the memory. "Just because we're Asian, the locals think we're easier to scam."
Chuckling, Soyoun shakes her head as she recalls what happened. "Oh you bet he did," she says with a laugh. "But he wasn't serious about it because it was to defend his honor and his money. He was trying and failing to sound all stern and serious., but after his lecture about remembering my manners and not calling people names even if they're deserved... He said he was proud of me for standing up for myself... well, him, technically." Laughing, it takes Soyoun a while to calm down and answer Yujin's next question.
"I can't really tell what exactly got me into it," Soyoun admits. "My mom says I've been scribbling on walls as soon as I learned what a crayon was and how to hold it. Apparently, I would get very upset when someone cleaned out whatever I drew on the walls as a baby that I'd cry a lot." Chuckling, Soyoun reaches over to her easel, where there's an unfinished sketch of the Crystallis members. It's part of the painting she was supposed to give as an anniversary gift, but it clearly wasn't going to be finished on time. "So my parents enrolled me in art classes just to give me something to do while they were both at work, but I ended up having too much fun that I didn't want to leave."
Soyoun hums. Yujin being fluent as well makes things a lot easier to work with. At least she can code-switch at will without feeling self-conscious or having to watch her words. Being bilingual is a struggle. Although she's most comfortable with Korean, Soyoun consciously uses English and Japanese to stay sharp in those languages as well.
"Where do I begin?" Soyoun playfully hums. As a kid, she had to learn early on what the words for "scammer" and "fake goods" were in English and Japanese, given her tendency to impulsively shop for art materials and fabric. "I had to learn whether I was being scammed at an early age," she says with a laugh. "I learned how to read the words for "fake", "scam", and "blacklist" early on because those were what I encountered the most when reading online reviews. This was when my go-to brand for washi paper and paint didn't open their Korea branch yet."
Switching positions to something more comfortable and won't get blood in the wrong body parts, Soyoun continues her story. "I also had to learn the numbers and prices early on, so I knew whether the sellers were purposely jacking up their prices because I was a foreigner. By the time I was 12, I got decent enough to the point that I knew the money changer in Osaka was trying to cheat my dad out of a few extra yen, so I called him a scammer in both Tokyo dialect and Kansai-ben." She lets out a laugh at that. "I like to think it worked since it got the money changer to give my dad the missing money."

"Sure, why not?" Soyoun says with a shrug. Jaehwa's been working hard, so she deserves a treat. "You pick where we're getting it though." Soyoun's just too lazy to decide where to get it. She already chose the place for dinner; she's not going to put in extra effort... again.
Humming to herself, Soyoun can't help but nod. "I barely recognize most of the new faces, too," she admits. "Unless they find ways to make us meet them... or if fate does its job." Chuckling, she remembers how she met Cherry... at the convenience store during one of her snack runs of all times.
"Exactly," she says, pointing a finger at Jaehwa. At the mention of seeing her bare face, Soyoun playfully gasps. "Don't remind me." She jokingly shudders at the thought. "But then again, they already saw it during that Running Man special. But this one will probably be more bare-faced. At least Running Man allowed me to put cushion on my face." Laughing, she wonders what exactly her upcoming show will entail. "All I know is that I won't be going home for a few days."
"Please." Soyoun is serious about getting that drinks truck for Jaehwa. If the one she finds also serves some snacks, even better. "If it happens while I'm out of town, I'll probably ask one of my brothers to take care of the logistics. Or maybe one of the other girls... whoever is more reliable."
"Malatang and xiao long bao, excellent," Soyoun says as she nods. She hasn't had a good malatang in ages, but last she checked this is one of the better places to get it. She should probably get that next time she feels like eating Chinese food. She then adds in her own order of tangsuyuk and jjajangmyeon before confirming the order.
Humming, Soyoun nods. "Understandable, since most of them aren't the ones we trained with, yeah?" She recalls how majority of the first batch of actors have already left LGC to pursue other endeavors. It feels almost weird to see a new batch of faces every time. ... The fact she's thinking like this already makes her realize the passage of time. She suddenly feels so old just thinking about it. Shuddering, she perishes the thought as soon as it arrives.
"You know how sometimes on variety shows, they have to do stuff at shit o'clock like wake up the main cast? Or maybe prepare for the day? Yeah, I think my upcoming variety show will need me up at weird hours." She doesn't have much information on it yet, but all that she knows is that it will be filmed out of town. "Or sometimes, part of filming is how we're getting to our next location? Stuff like that."
Smiling, she nods. "Deadly serious. Give me the days where filming will be intense so I can send a drinks truck your way for real." She knows how hard filming can be, especially in the winter. Wrapping her spare arm around Jaehwa, she chuckles. "I try my best. Now if only Max and Junhwan would agree..."
