Life Expectancy and CO2 Emissions
After looking through the Codebook Gapminder I have decided that I am interested in comparing First World countries life expectancy with their counties CO2 emissions and their oil per person consumption. This has been a hot topic in Canada right now with the Carbon Tax being implemented and discussions about the Trans Mountain Pipeline. I have pulled the information form the Gapminder Codebook that is relevant for life expectancy, CO2 emissions, oil per person consumption on the 31 Frist world countries that have been identified by the CIA, The World Fact Book. See below:
First World Countries
“CIA The World Factbook has a list of developed countries that are considered to be known as First World, high-income countries. The countries on the list generally have a per capita GDP exceeding $15,000. There are a total of 31 countries on this list as of July 2018.
In alphabetical order, the countries listed by the CIA to be developed, First World countries today are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States” (http://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/first-world-countries/)
Hypothesis: The increase in CO2 emissions has increased alongside the increase in life expectancy.
