Photo taken in front of a house overlooking Salzkammergut Lake, Austria. Trying to get a jumping shot but we couldn't quite get it! ;) So I opted to crop this photo instead. I like how we kept on trying and ended up with giggle fits =)

Prague, Czech Republic. Trying to master taking one's own photo. It's a skill that comes in handy when you explore on your own and want to take a photo of the scenery... with you (or you & your partner) in it ;).

La Tour Eiffel. The Eiffel Tower from different parts of Paris. It's an iconic symbol of the City of Light and yet the grandness still overwhelms when you see it up close. It's an amazing man-made wonder!

" I'm not lost, I'm a tourist =)" Hop-on Hop-off buses are some of the more reasonable & less complicated ways to see the must-visit tourist spots in a city. This one is in Paris. You get the most out of your ticket if you buy the pass with a 2-day validity. If you can't be bothered walking around (i.e. It's raining hard or your legs have done enough wandering), just stay on the bus and get an overview of all the sites included in the route.
When the weather is nice and the bus has an open-air upper deck, I like going up and enjoying the sights & sounds! =) Some great photos can be taken from there.

Help CDO. Compassion & Generosity in Trying Times
I like the fact that people are helping each other out in this time of tragedy in Cagayan de Oro City. We, Cagayanons, used to find security in knowing that our city was never visited by such severe weather conditions. We empathized with those who suffered from typhoons. I'm happy that so many people are empathizing with CDO now.
In the mid 80s, my family and I moved from Surigao City ( I'm also Surigaonon), where my Dad was then Governor, to CDO after Typhoon Nitang hit Surigao and left it in ruins. I always felt safe from natural calamities in CDO... until now :( This just highlights that weather systems have changed so much that not one of us can be complacent. We can't tell ourselves, " hindi yan mangyayari dito/ dili na mahitabo dinhi/that won't happen here". We all need to prepare. Disaster preparedness is key.
This is my personal blog for all things that I like & love. I'll post the account numbers where donors can help those affected by Tropical Storm Sendong. Because if there's anything that I can like about this very sad time, it's that people are stepping up and giving life to the words--- compassion, generosity and love.
May we all have a Blessed & Meaningful Christmas!

A friend emailed me a month ago about news reports that Japan may give 10,000 free flights to Japan! :o Of course that got my attention! I love Japan! So I did a bit of research and found that no official announcement has been made by the Japan National Tourism Organization. Please check their statement: http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/topics/2011/free_flights.html
For a bit on Tokyo, Japan, you may want to check-out my Destination Japan travel tips at http://liaandanaryu.blogspot.com/2011/06/destination-japan.html and http://liaandanaryu.blogspot.com/2011/06/tokyoniigatashibata.html
