Liam shook his head as Freddie took the coffee, though he couldn't help but continue to try his attempts to get through to him. "Do you hear yourself right now? Why wouldn't it matter?" He questioned, his words a little more firm than earlier. "You're not just some ghost rider that I have to deal with, you of all people should know that." He figured he'd still be getting the cold shoulder, the aftermath of the shooting still playing a big role in Freddie's emotions — he couldn't blame him. "Don't think you'll get away with not answering the question. Seriously Freddie — are you alright?"
Freddie takes the coffee, but makes no move to drink it, eyes averted to the floor as Liam speaks. He misses him, he does, but the nagging in the back of his mind to keep his distance and the fear that one day it will be Liam holding a gun to his head causes him to keep pulling back. “ does it matter? ” he says “ probably would’ve been better for you, one less ghost rider to deal with and all that. ”

“I heard what you did.” He said softly, handing a coffee over as he looked at Freddie. “Or rather what you wanted to do.” He let out a laugh before softly patting him on the back. “How are you holding up? You didn’t actually run into the fire, did you?” He questioned, though he couldn’t say much as he ran into the chaos himself — though the heroics were due to finding his girlfriend.

Liam had gotten off pretty easy compared to some others during the carnival, but his main worry of the night was Miray. He was glad she decided to spend some time as the hospital, though it was only a matter of time before she busted herself out. Once he got the call he headed straight over, letting himself in at the sound of her voice. “Hey baby, where are you?” He questioned, looking around as he shut the door behind him.

The last thing Miray wanted to do was be in a hospital again but luckily for her after being on oxygen for a couple of hours she was good to go, or at least she’d decided she was good to go. No doctor was going to keep her there for any longer than she felt was necessary. If Miray Aslan said she was fine then she was fine. She headed back home wanting nothing more than to be with Mina and make sure she was okay after witnessing the explosion. Her baby girl needed as many cuddles as possible and if Miray was honest she wanted some baby cuddles too. As soon as the little girl was down for the count Miray called Liam, inviting him over. They had a lot to talk about after some of the revelations of the night before had been somewhat interrupted. "It's open, come in!" She yelled the second she heard the alert on her phone, indicating that there was somebody at the door.

“Yeah, you do seem to remind me of that every time I see you.” He teased, the playful tone in his voice was one that wasn’t reserved for many. The shift had been smooth, even with the occasional waves of families coming over in attempts to win a prize. Still as the time went on he longed to get back to his beautiful girlfriend, the two planning to see how many items they could secure for Mina. "Very cruel, just when I thought I'd get to make an escape, come to find out you're only here to test your aim." A laugh left his lips as he turned towards the balloons, giving himself the best angle to watch her take a shot. "I didn't say that, you don't know the amount of horrendous attempts I've seen tonight." He watched on as she began firing the darts, both of them connecting with their target. "Have you been holding out on me, are you some kind of dart champion?"
" WELL YOU KNOW ME liam, i just live to torture you. " the hacker laughs, eyebrows raising in a manner that is clear teasing. perhaps she did feel slightly bad considering how desolate she noticed the booth had been. that, and she hoped that it wasn't a preminition for her shift with this... nero character that was fast approaching. " dangle your freedom in front of your face... just to take it away. how cruel of me. " while liam knows a lot more about her than iris ever expected him to, there was one part of her life no one knew about. as he slides the darts across the counter -- iris keeps his gaze. then comes her laughter. " ye of so little faith -- is that what you think of me? " once she steps into position, she fires off two darts before they quickly connect with the balloons in speed. after a patient pause, of course.

Liam was well aware that Miray didn’t need his money nor did she ask for it, but she was the type of woman that deserved to spoiled by someone other than herself. The treatment was rare, something reserved for the beautiful woman who’d stolen his heart. He was happy to spend any amount on Miray and Mina, that treatment would soon be reflected in as many prizes the woman wanted. His eyes traveled to the large pink unicorn the booth had on display, the one that required each of the darts to pop one of the balloons behind him — simple enough. “I have full confidence in your aim, maybe this distraction is just what you need to really test your skills.” He teased before placing the six darts in front of her. “Too bad I’m stuck behind here, I could think of plenty of other ways to distract you.”
Miray didn't need his money, she'd never needed a man to pay for anything for her or her daughter but she wasn't going to turn it down. She was independent but she wasn't stupid, free money was free money. "She's in a pink phase recently, which is wild because a few months ago she hated everything pink and would say it's yucky and now everything in the world needs to be pink and princess and glitter or she wont go near it." It was a hassle having to throw away so many of her old toys but Mina was a princess and demanded to get what she wanted, much like her mother. "I should be good at this I've been told my aim is pretty good, if only I didn't have an incredibly sexy boyfriend stood distracting me."

"I don't know what kind of cruel punishment is classified as showing up for your shift early just to play the game, but you're nailing it." Liam teased, though he was pleased to see a familiar face walking over. His shift was a little slow, but not terrible, the most unbearable part being that he was stuck in one place until it was over. "There's no better time to test your aim, you'll be doing me a favor." It wasn't a lie, he'd been seeing a lot of attempts throughout the night, some better than others, and throughout his shift he'd grown bored. He reached for a handful of darts, pacing them on counter in front of her. "No pressure, but you've got to win something."

LOCATION: balloon darts FOR: liam archer
SHE'D BE BACK HERE soon enough -- but, iris can't help herself when she notices a familiar face behind the booth of her later assignment. liam was always a hard one to read, so she couldn't quite tell if he was amused by the whole thing or positively revolted by what he had gotten himself into. pausing, her smile grows as she makes her way towards the booth. the state of things were clearly slow, and she couldn't help but wonder if it was an omen for her shift coming down the line. if he was bored, than she'd be doing him a service. " it's not my time yet, don't get too excited. " iris laughs, crossing her arms over her chest. things had just started, after all. even still, there were times when shifts at big brain tech passed her by in the same speed as one could blink. " for now.... i think i might play a round. see if my aim is any good. " while she may have been a hacker, she was no stranger to aim. she had to be, in her life before this one.

"My Valentine's Day present is snacks?" The man questioned with a laugh as the pair approached the booth. "While we're here, we might as well make the most of it." Liam turned his head, looking at the different themed options that were being offered tonight. "What are you thinking of ordering? Nachos?"

Was he tipsy? Maybe a little, but that's why he had made his way to the snack shack, to get a carnival-sized soft pretzel to soak up some of the liquor and caffeine that was running through his bloodstream. Did it actually work that way? Not entirely, but tomato tomato. It was a good enough reason for him. Running into Liam along the way was just a bonus.
" You want anything? My treat, call it a late Valentine's Day present. "

Liam dreaded having to stay in one spot for too long at events like this, the post making it difficult to keep tabs on everything going on within his surroundings. It wasn’t just himself that he was looking out for anymore, having an entire group of people’s safety in his hands was something he didn’t take lightly — though there was one person who was higher on his radar than the rest. Her voice caused a smile to appear on his lips, his attention quickly shifting to his girlfriend. “Hey beautiful.” His shift at the balloon dart suddenly became so much better. “For you?” He questioned with a shake of his head before pulling out his own money for her to play with. “You’re not walking away from here without one of them, what color?”

Miray had been wondering through the carnival looking at all of the stalls and rides, keeping herself busy while Liam was working his shift and before her nanny arrived with Mina. After a little bit of time she decided to go over and see what her boyfriend was up to over at the balloon darts. "Hey handsome." She greeted, walking up to the booth. "How much? And are you able to rig it so I can get one of those big bear things for Mina?"

"Freddie." Liam began before letting out a sigh. "I never took a shot in your direction, but you know I had a job to do." War never made things easy, especially when there were people he cared about on the other side. "Things like that are never simple, you know I'm not the one calling the shots, but following Miray is something I'm never going to question."
Freddie looks up as Liam approaches his table, an annoyed huff escaping his lips alongside a pout that can only be described as childish. “ yeah, I am still quite pissed off. I get it’s your job and all but it kinda makes me not able to trust you, and it makes me think everything you’ve ever said about giving a fuck is just all bullshit. ”

“Yeah? Then I guess I’ll owe you breakfast to start.” Liam said with a smile before nodding his head. "Tavtav, I'll be sure to make something that includes it. Perhaps, tavtav and waffles?" He figured he'd be staying the night, knowing their celebrations would take way more than a few hours — there was no where else he'd rather be. "Being spoiled is exactly what you deserve, it's what both of you deserve." It's exactly what he had planned for the evening, the presents he'd brought with him matching his attention to detail. "Then we'll save the champagne for later, as soon as Mina's head hits her pillow." He looked at her, placing a small kiss against her lips before turning back to the rice cooker. "It should be all set."
“You can cook for us whenever you’d like to. Just know this one is obsessed with chicken or as she calls it tavtav. Isn’t that right Mina?” She asked the little girl who only stopped playing for a second to nod her head. One day she was going to have to teach her the english words for food but she was already doing so well with her two languages Miray didn't want to overwhelm her. “Good, you know I love to be spoiled.” It was something almost everyone knew about Miray. She liked being treated, worshiped, pampered. It was an easy way to her heart. “As much as possible; I’m excited to celebrate with you when it’s just the two of us.”

Liam hadn't seen much of Freddie since before Christmas, before he landed himself in the hospital. It was just in time for the Freddie's father's funeral — something he didn't get to attend. He walked over, seeing an opportunity with the blond sitting alone at a empty table in the corner. Liam placed a coffee in front of him along with a paper bag containing a snack — a small gesture to show him he cared. “Hey, are you still not talking to me?”

"You plan on nursing that drink all night?" Liam questioned before taking a sip from his own glass. He hadn't been keeping up with Iris as of late, that'd been of no fault but his own with everything since Halloween. He didn't know how up to date she was, if she'd even known he'd been shot among all of the chaos. "What's up? Hopefully continuing to avoid an corn mazes."

“Trust me, I know what you are.” Liam teased, shaking his head. “That’s a great way to say you care without actually saying it.” He continued, letting out a laugh. “A new development? Is that a good thing?” He shrugged his shoulders as the conversation shifted to focus on him, he figured that would happen. “It’s not my reflexes that were in question, I wasn’t the one getting shot at. They were after Miray and I couldn’t let that happen.”
"Of course I have, I'm a hacker. I keep tabs on a lot of people especially those I'm related to." Hayes shrugged. "God no. Well... kind of actually. Not a new woman but a new development I guess. But back to you, I heard you got shot? I thought your reflexes would have been better than that."

Liam couldn’t help but be amused as he watched the exchange in front of him. “Don’t worry about it, sometimes that’s the only way people learn.” He nodded his head before scanning the bar, watching on whoever that poor soul was run off to join Eric on the other side. “I’ll do a rum and coke. Do you deal with that shit often?”

"Repeat what the fuck you said again," Soroya glanced at one of the new bartenders as if they had grown three heads in the last five seconds. She was snarky, and having only been working for the last five minutes had tried to give some kind of order to the brunette that must have sounded smarter in her pea-sized brain. Amusement played over her features as she watched the girl's eyes go wide as she worked on a response, sputtering words had been the first few things leaving her mouth. "Yeah, that's what I fucking thought, go man that side of the bar with Eric, he can help you tonight." she waved her hand at the girl to shoo her away before glancing over at one of the patrons that happened to have a front row seat to the entire thing. "Sorry, what was your order again?"
