Brian get a single breathy laugh. Liam was nothing more than another cocky young lad that thought he knew it all. The sort that thought of themselves as untouchable. “Well it’s good to see that some relationships in this place are flourishing well.” He matched Liam’s posture, crossing his arms too and giving the other a sly smile. “Not unless you want yourself a black eye on that pretty little face.” He leaned in closer and narrowed his eyes. “If you’re demonstrating, it’s on yourself, or something in that corner.” He motioned to the corner of his office. There were a few things that shouldn’t cause him too much harm should the gravity manipulator choose to hurl them at him.

“Aw, what is it, Brian? Jealous that you don’t get to have a good relationship with anyone, let alone a power?” Liam couldn’t help but smirk at this. “Wouldn’t be the first time I had a black eye.” Liam shrugged, thinking back on all the fights he had been in in the past. “But even if you wanted to give me one, Matthews, you wouldn’t be able to.” Liam reminded the other and then his eyes flickered towards the corner of the office. He took a step towards the scientist. “Come on, Brian. Live a little. Have some fun.”

“It’s a talent of mine,” he clapped back quickly, looking over the young man for a second, sucking on the back of his teeth in thought. “Mandatory check-up. I have a day out of the lab but I still need to be involved. So…how’s gravity treating you?”

Liam rolled his eyes as he folded his arms across his chest. If he had a choice, Liam wouldn’t be going near Brian at all. He wasn’t fond of any of the scientists. “Gravity and I have a great relationship. Thanks for asking.” He then tilted his head to the side with a tight smile. “Would you like a hands on demonstration?”

Landon gave small chuckle and shook his head. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to just throw that thought process at you, I just get very involved in these shows, clearly.” Landon patted his chin. “You’d be alright against a shark though right? Just lift it out of the water and be done with it?”

“You’re fine.” Liam waved away the worry. He didn’t mind talking about sharks, it was just not something he was used to being asked. “Yeah, I could do that.” He snorted. “There are plenty of things I could do. Just as you could just freeze the water and make sure it can’t go anywhere.”

“You really know how to charm someone, don’t you, Brian?” Liam smiled tightly at the older man, folding his arms across his chest. “If you like me the least, then why am I here?” 

“Out of all the residents in both Park and Point, I think I like you the least.” He shook his head and forced a sigh. “No, I’m not supposed to say that, but yes, I have said it anyway.”

Liam opened his mouth and then closed it. He honestly had no idea how to even respond to Landon. “I mean I can’t imagine it’s just you. There’s plenty of people in the world that might think the same way.” Liam shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t find them all that scary, personally.”

“Is it just me that’s scared of sharks, but at the same time not scared of sharks? Like…the idea of a shark is scary but when you actually see one it’s not. I don’t know, I’ve been watching a lot of National Geographic documentaries…”

Wren chuckled, blushed and nodded, “That’s very true. But that’s a reference to Hitchhiker’s Guide…” He corrected, but then added guiltily, “But nerdy nonetheless.” Wren liked that he could be a geek around Liam. And even though Liam sometimes laughed at him for it, Wren knew it was always out of play. Wren gave the server his order and turned to let Liam give his order as well. He would definitely be buying and he got his wallet out to do so. “I think we both could use massages,” he replied to Liam’s day survey.

“Ah...” Liam smirked and lowered his head slightly. “I apologize but I’ve never seen... read... that?” He tilted his head to the side as he glanced towards his boyfriend. He wasn’t sure if it was a movie or a book, although, he knew it could have been both. “Be a nerd all you want. It’s hot.” Liam leaned over and kissed Wren on the cheek and then told the server what he wanted. He frowned when he noticed Wren pulling out his wallet. “What are you doing?” Liam asked, as if he didn’t know. “Don’t-- come on, let me pay.” He insisted and then rolled his eyes. “Yes, yes. But I’d rather it be you giving me a massage than anyone else.”

“Warts will come, my love. Warts will come for us all, one day.” Wren said in an attemptingly haunting tone that he couldn’t even withhold due to the impulse to laugh. “Oh no but it is. You should know me by now, any question about food is as difficult for me to answer as it is for me to tell you the meaning of life. If anything, it’s harder, because everyone knows the meaning of life is 42.” Wren hummed at Liam’s favorite pasta. “Both also good answers,” he approved. Wren blushed when Liam held the door open for him. They’ve been together for over three years, but the small things still made him feel special. “Thank you, gentleman,” he entered the resturaunt and waited to be seated. “So, moving on from me being a hungry nerd, how are you? How was your day today?”

Liam snorted but didn’t comment further on the warts subject. There was nothing to say, really. “42?” He asked, shaking his head back and forth. “I think someone’s been reading too many comic books.” It was a joke, of course, and Liam honestly had no idea where Wren got the statement about the meaning of life. He smiled and nodded at his boyfriend, following him into the italian restaurant. “It was fine. Just worked, mostly. I trained my power a little but nothing major.” He said as he walked up to the front desk and told them they were ordering to go.

Liam was someone very important in Jackson’s life, he cared about him more than Liam probably knew. When he heard of his story he immediately felt protective over him, the fact that Isa adopted him probably had a lot to do with it too. He cared about her and knew that she loved Liam and so he became important to him too. “It’s just that I don’t kiss and tell.” Jackson chuckled, but it was true, he had gotten no action in quite a while, his situation was just a bit complicated. “My skills are amazing.” He added. 

When Liam answered his question, Jackson felt like he should have known that, and yet he didn’t. “That’s right, it would be cheating. This is why I’m not in one, I can  kiss who I want.” He joked trying to lighten the mood after noticing some uneasiness in Liam. “So where is this lucky someone?”

“Well that’s sad.” Liam said, offering the other a smile. Of course, he wouldn’t expect Jackson to tell him anything about who he’s slept with, let alone who he’s kissed. But he enjoyed teasing the older male about it. “I’ll believe it when one of the women tell me so. Or if I see it.” Liam’s smile widened and then he glanced towards the kissing booth. 

“You’re not in a relationship just so you’re able to kiss whoever you want?” Liam asked Jackson, his eyebrows raising slightly. “I suppose that could be a plus. Although, I don’t necessarily see it that way.” Liam had never been the type of guy to kiss around, or sleep around. He was never comfortable enough. “Where? Not sure.” He glanced around. “He might still be working. Or he’s enjoying the rides with his friends.” Liam didn’t keep tabs on Wren. He trusted him and didn’t see a point.

As soon as Liam loosened the grip on her hand, Lucie pulled it from his grip. Her night was no longer fun, now she was just pissy. “No, she doesn’t. She hasn’t told me why I need to avoid some people, why Point is ‘safer’ in her mind, or even anything Killian did or tried to do.” As soon as his name left her mouth, she cringed. She knew she shouldn’t have brought it up. 

Clearly, her regret was enough for her power to spring back, Lu solidifying in front of her, forcefully grabbing her shoulders. Lucie gasped at how angry and flustered the other girl looked. She’d never seen those emotions directed at her before. “Lu-” Before she could speak anymore, Lu shushed her. 

“Just stop talking! Jesus.” Her tone was incredibly short as she scanned Lucie’s face. “Stop asking about shit thats going to hurt you more than not knowing.” Looking at Liam over her shoulder, she spat, “She’s too drunk to keep me here long, but do NOT tell her anything.” 

While it was obvious that Lucie was mad by Lu not telling her certain details, Liam was actually impressed. And not just impressed, he was relieved as well. “Point is safer. There’s more rules, easier ways for you to control your power, more help and order. It’s safer for you.” Liam insisted. Even though Lu was part of her power, she still needed to learn how to keep control over it. 

Liam watched as Lu finally solidified and grabbed onto his little sister. He took a step forward but then paused, watching and listening to the alter speak to Lucie. “I’m not stupid, Lu.” Liam insisted as he rolled his eyes. He took another step forward, wrapped an arm around his little sister and began tugging her towards Point. “There’s nothing to tell, Lucie. Just remember that Lu knows best.”

Wren smiled at that and kissed Liam’s cheek. “For better of for worse, for sweatier or for cleaner, warts and all,” he grinned. Wren let out a groan of protest, “That’s one of the hardest questions you’ve ever asked me, damn.” He thought about it for a moment then answered, “Tie between baked mac and cheese and penne alla vodka. What’s yours?”

“Warts?” Liam asked. “Whoah, whoah, whoah, no one said anything about warts.” He began laughing and shaking his head back and forth. “It is not.” Liam smiled as he glanced towards Wren. “Two very good kinds of pasta.” He licked his lips at the thought of eating some food. “Either fettucinie alfredo or chicken parmesan.” He said as he moved towards the italian restaurant door and opened it for Wren. “After you.”

Liam leaned against the nearest wall, his arms folding across his chest as he watched Jace with one of the clients. He pressed his lips together into a thin line as he watched. While Liam wasn’t comfortable around many people, he and Jace did have a lot in common and he was trying not to show his unease around the other male. “Doesn’t seem like they got this.” He grumbled, watching as the person’s arms were beginning to shake as they tried to do more push-ups. “Maybe having them use weights would be better?”

Jace could have made it big. He was the number one recruit for a dozen football teams, and he’d proven that he could keep up academically. But things happened, and his life got off track, so the closest that he got to that now was this: yelling at people to train harder, to lift heavier, to run faster. Otherwise known as a trainer at Gym Time. It was a far cry from his dream, but he enjoyed it. Most days. “C’mon, you got this,” he encouraged, bending down to near eye level with the person forcing their way through push-ups.

Once again rolling her eyes at her brother, she knew he’d done a lot worse than cursing and drinking at her age. “Don’t act like you never did this when you were my age.” She huffed, her tone obviously frustrated. Whether it was Lu fully fed up with Lucie’s bullshit at the moment, or her inebriated state, the girl couldn’t feel her alternate form. Shrugging, she answered her brother again, her voice growing loud as if she was shouting at Lu. “Yes and she never tells me why I need to avoid things.” Lucie was looking around as if she was trying to summon her other self. “She just says ‘No, don’t do that.’ or ‘Trust me, avoid this.’ and I’m sick of it!” Lucie’s steps were not steady, she was stumbling slightly as she was yelling, frustrated with Lu. Looking back at Liam, she huffed again. “Why do you even care, it’s not like you like her.” 

Liam let out an annoyed sigh and shook his head back and forth. “Just because I may have done it, doesn’t mean you should.” Liam was not a good influence at all but he was trying to be with his little sisters. It was much harder than when he was younger. He paused in step and loosened his grip on her hand. “She doesn’t?” That wasn’t something he had thought. He had assumed that Lu told Lucie reasons why she couldn’t do certain things, or why she protect her from certain people. 

“Hey now, I never said--” Liam began and shut his mouth as he noticed Lu flicker in and out of view beside Lucie. “Lucie, I don’t dislike Lu. I actually like her. More than you know.” More than he’d care to admit. “She protected you when I couldn’t and I’m eternally grateful for that.” Even if Lu was Lucie’s power, it didn’t matter. She was still her protector, just as much as Liam was.

Rolling her eyes at his comment, Lucie tried to keep pace. In doing so, she lost focus on her drink for just a second, which was enough time for Liam to pluck it from her hands and toss the contents into the street. “Hey!” She exclaimed, “What the fuck was that for?” Her lip was slightly pouted at him wasting the rest of her drink. Granted, she didn’t pay for it, but still. Scoffing lightly at his next question, Lucie waved her hand through the air. “Pouting. She’s mad at me for coming over here. She doesn’t like it when I’m at Park.” Of course, the alternate version of herself never explained in detail of why she didn’t like some of the things Lucie did, which is part of the reason Lucie does them. “She’ll show up if I’m dying, but when I’m over here, she leaves me alone.”

“Language.” He warned his little sister. Yes, she was an adult now, but that didn’t mean anything for him. He glanced over his shoulder again, waiting for his little sister’s alter to somehow come out. “Is she?” Liam asked, glancing towards Lucie. “Looks like me and her have at least one thing in common, then.” Liam smirked. He knew that technically Lu was also his little sister but he didn’t really see it that way. Lu was part of Lucie’s power. Nothing more. He couldn’t let himself get attached to more than one version of her when this version, the one in this universe, was the one that really mattered. “Is that why you come over here? So she’ll leave you alone?”

“You had a volvo?” Liam asked, his eyebrows furrowing slightly. “Who the fuck bought you a volvo?” He hadn’t been given a car before coming to Lake Grimstone. He barely even knew how to drive. “I guess we’ll see who the worst driver is then, huh?” He smirked at his little sister and then ran his tongue over his lips. Liam had always been really competitive, but he wouldn’t do anything to actually hurt his siblings. Not purposefully, anyway. He knew Katherine was the same and it didn’t surprise him. They came from the same woman, after all. However, there was something in Liam that said let her win. He let out a sigh and barely made a move, his whole car jerking as she slammed into him. “Bumper cars isn’t exactly hard, Kat.” Liam laughed. “I can’t make it much more challenging for you, unless I simply began driving away.”

It would’ve been a crime if Katherine didn’t take the opportunity to have some fun while the rides were still around, now wouldn’t it? Granted, it wasn’t the most fun activity, but she had nothing better to do that day, and quite frankly, she was feeling rather restless. Quickly jumping into the bumping car, she buckled up and once the car started, she gripped onto the steering wheel; brows furrowed and gaze extremely focused on her target, “I crashed my Volvo like ten times, I’m extremely good at this, it’s totally my forte.” She chuckled. She was extremely competitive, and she’d be damned if she didn’t win that round. Was there even a price? Probably not, but that didn’t matter now. She slammed the front of the car into the other, before sticking her tongue out, “At least try to make this a little harder for me. It’s not fun this way.”

Liam, of course, it was Liam, no one else would dare talk to him like that. But he liked that Liam felt comfortable enough to talk to him like that. “No action? I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were keeping track of that for me.” He said with a chuckle. “I think I liked your drink idea more, what if whoever I kiss gets hypnotized by my amazing skills?” He asked with another chuckle. “And why can’t you?”

“Don’t act like it’s such a surprise.” Liam smirked as he glanced towards Jackson. The man was about the only role model he had that was the same gender as him. Part of him wondered if Jackson would have adopted him, had Isabella not. He looked at the man like a father. He respected him as one and took his advice to heart. That’s what father’s did, right? Liam couldn’t really be too sure. He didn’t have a very good track record when it came to parents. “I mean the drink idea was already on the table. But going over there after getting a drink was kind of the suggestion.” Liam said with a smile. “Oh, you have amazing skills now? I wouldn’t know. Since you don’t get action.” He dug at the older male with a laugh. 

His laugh was cut short at the next question. His relationships, and sexuality, had never really come up between the two of them. “I’m in a relationship. I can’t just be kissing other people. That would count as cheating.”
