It always needs to be said; we shouldn't look up to men. They don't actually know better, they just stole a better seat at the table.

Now a jump to body positivity again; have you ever seen men writing poems about their penises? Have you ever seen them talk endearingly of their genitals, romanticising them, making them cutesy and all?

They are usually gross (and gross) but that's another story or another indicator of their privilege. It's not that they don't do d** worship (they really do) but why they don't do this cutesy stuff around their d** is because it doesn't signal power in any way. In fact, it signals ridiculous - you can try glorifying that ridiculous thing as much as you want but in a world that devalues it, you can just look more ridiculous. There's no such thing as pussy power, there are just men making jackasses out of us. They won't respect us no matter what we do simply because we are women, and we don't need to imitate their displays of power for each other if we are trying to dismantle it.

Therefore you can sleep peacefully at night: a lot of women actually find this stupid, they just don't want to offend other women who like this and believe this to be a pushback against male dominance.

She did this because of societies view that women who have big breasts are supposed to cover up more, that they're somehow more promiscuous, and the idea that if you have a big chest it's your fault if people harrass/abuse you over it. I'm not going to articulate this well today but is anyone else creeped out by the language shift from 'being in danger' to 'feeling unsafe'? The fact that danger is slowly becoming a feeling that YOU feel rather than a material reality imposed on you by someone else, except it's not even danger, it's just a lack of safety, I don't know, I'm very suspicious of it.

So now when we talk about safety it's about your subjective feelings, something completely intangible and seemingly unconnected to anything around you, rather than literally not being threatened. I feel like this is deliberate and we shouldn't buy into it.
