the best part of dropout behind the scenes content is when you think you know what the crew is going to say and then all of a sudden they're talking about something completely different. like what do you mean the d20 production team tried to invent hologram technology for mismag2?? what do you MEAN dropout producers were literally trying to contact NASA so they could send a sam reich standee INTO SPACE????

Dear video essay creators. A video analysis is when you analyze a piece of media. No no look at me. A summary, no matter how thorough, is not an analysis. An analysis requires you to draw conclusions about the media such as authorial intent, real-world parallels, discussion about themes/worldbuilding/character motivation, and so much more. You have to stop summarizing something and saying that’s analysis. The Gaylors are doing more critical analysis than you. Is that who you want to lose to? The gaylors?

A Starstruck Odyssey truly is the campaign of all time. First intrepid heroes in-studio campaign since the COVID pandemic. Ally finally managing to play a type A character. Murph with the long hair. Riva being the third non-binary PC in D20 history. 'I've got my proldier's license right here.' Lou with the pitched voice (Gunnie walked so that Pinocchio could run). Smash n'Grab. 'The only thing that could take us out was a trip to the zoo.' Siobhan with the brown hair. Plug's Butt-Ugly Stuff Hut. Zac playing a smart character for the first time since Lapin- oh wait no he just got slugged. Emily with the southern accent. 'Take care of my leeeeegs!' Brennan basically playing with the toys his mom made for him. The way the colors in the background compliment Ally's eyes. 'Third! Nat! One!' Loose Duke. I could go on and on forever

daylight savings is actually truly one of the most evil things in the world. just casually forcing us to confront the fact that time is fake while torturing insomniacs, autistics and schoolchildren across the globe. when will the agony end

the new game changer absolutely slaps but i will say as someone who saw the voicemail: the musical live, i'm so sad they cut the part where you find out that the reason daddy is elsewhere is because he's a werewolf

They've talked about the seating thing! Basically they try sitting the characters they think are going to play off each other well across the table so they can do reverse camera shots between them.
In the early seasons they were sitting Ally next to Murph so he could help them out with the technical stuff (same with sitting Rekha next to Matt in Bloodkeep) but obviously they don't need to do that anymore.
They sat Siobhan and Emily at the end of the table during Crown of Candy because they wanted them to be both across from each other for aforementioned camera shots and next to each other bc sisters. And making sure Lou was next to one of them for the family moments.
This rules, I had assumed a lot of this stuff but I didn't know they had openly said it

Brennan playing Zeus as a sleazy wrestling promoter is so crazy because imagine you are playing DnD for the first time, on camera, and the DM makes the BBEG a pastiche of your shitty bosses from real life.

The dichotomy of Brennan helping with ability score rolls for newer players:
Titan Takedown: Preps high-level base stats for the cast, with everyone having a 20 in their two most relevant ability scores and no one really having a genuine dump stat (no one's character has below a 14/+2 modifier in any ability), which allows the players to play to their class strengths and not have to worry about fucking up as much in a shorter, tighter campaign.
Fantasy High: Ally Beardsley rolls a 4 for Kristen's Dex and has to live with with the consequences of that for 6+ years
