Are Different Oils the Right Treatment for Lice?
We’re all aware of the benefits of using different oil treatments for our hair. Luscious, silky, and smooth locks, the ones in Dove commercials; that’s our hair care fantasy.
Tumblr media
And no matter how many times we use essential oils for our hair, we’re never able to achieve the look we dream of. Tangled hair, frizzy mess, flat and limp—these are just of the ways to describe the nightmare we have to deal with!
But do you know what’s worse? Dealing with hundreds of icky, crawly critters nestling in the strands of your hair!
What makes head lice the bane of our existence is their stubborn nature, and their refusal to leave us alone.
And while there are tons of “remedies” available, one question that has been bugging people on the internet is: do essential oils help get rid of head lice?
Here’s why the answer is no:
Oils Nourish the Scalp
That’s all essential oils do. They nourish the scalp. Which is great, by the way, but not the remedy you’re looking for.
When your hair is nourished, it will improve the texture of your hair and keep your scalp healthy. Unfortunately, this also means that head lice will feed off a healthy scalp, sucking the nutrients as well.
They Don’t Have any Anti-Lice Ingredients
Essential oils do not have any ingredients that can help get rid of head lice. This is a fact that is often ignored by home remedy websites.
Essential oils are only for your hair but they don’t do anything for your scalp, which is where the problem lies. Even if they ‘immobilize’ the adult lice, the nits are still there.
Even if they help you remove the adult lice, the nits will hatch within a week and the cycle will start all over again.
So what is the solution, you ask? Head lice removal services.

Types Of Hair That Is Likely To Catch Lice
Let’s just set the record straight by saying that there is no type of hair that lice are not attracted to.
Tumblr media
In fact, lice aren’t interested in your hair at all—it’s the scalp that provides them with the nourishment they need—your blood. As long as you have a scalp that lice can feed off, they will sure to jump on to your head whenever they’re given the chance.
With that being said, there are certain types of hair that are more prone to catching lice than others.
If your children have the following hair types, it’s best to take extra measures to ensure they do not catch lice:
Long hair
Tumblr media
Most little girls will love to have long flowy, Rapunzel type locks and they will grow their hair out in order to get them. Long hair is quite lovely but it doesn’t look so great when it has creepy critters crawling inside it.
Lice don’t look at the length of the hair before walking onto the head but long hair just makes it so much easier for them to do so. It provides a large surface area, giving lice a much greater chance for them to invade your head.
Straight hair
Tumblr media
Straight hair is more prone to catching live because it is easier for lice to walk on. Curly, course hair doesn’t provide with lice with the sort of luxury they get from curly hair. Still, that doesn’t mean that curly heads are safe from lice!
Thick hair
Tumblr media
Like the rest of us, lice too are looking for shelter and what provides better shelter for lice than thick hair.
A thinning hairline of an adult male or the thin wispy strands of baby’s head are no good for lice. Lice prefer thick hair which gives them plenty of space for them to lay their nits.
If your child has long, straight or thick hair, it’s best to keep it in braids or a bun to prevent them from catching lice.
In case they do contract lice, take advantage of professional lice removal services. Lice Master offers in-home lice removal services that make sure that all lice and nits are extracted completely. They even provide home inspection and cleaning services to prevent re-infestation.
Aren’t comfortable with your child’s lice being removed in the house? No problem, visit Lice Master’s lice treatment center in Coral Gables where they treat your child’s hair with advanced technology and all-natural products.
Call 800-748-9451 to make an appointment at their lice treatment center today!

Expert Advice: Learning about Different Types of Lice
When it comes to talking about lice, we’re all familiar with the creepy crawlies that inhibit our scalp at least once or twice in our lives.
However, in reality, those are not the only species of parasite that we should be aware of. There are in fact, three kinds of lice, each with its own set of problem and treatments. To educate you on the subject, we collaborated with the lice removal specialists at Lice Master in Miami Beach.
Learning about Lice
The three kinds of lice are:
Head lice
Body lice
Public lice
Head Lice
With head lice, the first symptom is usually itchiness on the scalp. That’s accompanied by a certain flakiness which is actually the nits that are laid on the base of your hair shafts.
Head lice are quite common, especially during school time amongst younger children. The female louse first finds your head to take blood from then lay her eggs. These eggs are attached to your hair follicle with a sort of super glue which isn’t water-soluble. After the eggs hatch, they start feeding and laying more eggs, which then leads to a heavier infestation.
Tumblr media
Head lice can usually be cleared out by using natural head lice treatments. Whether it’s a mild or heavy infestation, it’s important to note that there should be no use of over-the-counter treatments or home remedies, otherwise they may cause an allergic or chemical reaction.
Body Lice
Body lice are more dangerous than head or pubic lice, mainly because they carry disease. Body lice are known for spreading different bacteria which can cause relapsing fever, typhus and trench fever.
In comparison, body lice do look quite similar to head lice. But they’re much bigger in size.
Also, body lice do not infest the scalp, but invade the body surface. So you may find them in clothes, pillows, towels and mattresses. One way to find body lice is by checking the seams of any clothing that was worn. Sure enough, you’ll find the parasites on the surface of the skin.
Because there is a disease involved, it’s important that you consult with a doctor for proper medical treatment. You must also maintain proper personal hygiene otherwise the lice may resurface.
Pubic Lice
Also known as crabs, this infection is mainly sexually transmitted and usually occurs amongst adolescents and teenagers who are sexually active. However, children can also get them if they use any bedding, towels or clothing that has been used by someone who has pubic lice.
A main symptom of pubic lice is itchiness and redness. Because the lice are in such a sensitive area, the symptoms can cause a lot of anxiety for the person suffering, especially if they do not have it treated. Pubic lice have a shorter attention span i.e. three weeks. However, the time can be unbearable since it’s not as easy to get rid of the lice.
The best way to get rid of these lice is by not maintaining any sexual contact or by being responsible during copulation and by going to a doctor so they can give you medication and treatments to remove the lice.
Each condition has a different method of treatment. While it’s easier to get rid of head lice by visiting a lice clinic, the others require medical visits. Only by taking the right steps will you be able to effectively get rid of lice.

My Best Friend’s Wedding: Lice of Honor
My childhood best friend was to be married to the love of her life, scheduled to be a fabulous winter wedding in Miami. Preparations were in full-swing, and it was two weeks to the big day.
Tumblr media
As her maid of honor, I had many duties to tend to, including, of course, the frantic phone calls from the bride in question worrying about anything and everything under the sun. Admittedly a tough job, given the demands of my bridezilla buddy, but not one that I wasn’t equipped to handle.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly, all the wheels were set in motion, and all that was left was to run last-minute errands and count down the days to the wedding.
And then, the worst happened.
I got head lice.
A Poorly-Timed Affair
Having recently come into employment as a middle school teacher, this was not much of a shock to me. Kids get head lice all the time, and it was no wonder that I had somehow fallen victim to the nasty parasites.
However, that didn’t stop me from flying into a frenzied panic. I had considerable duties to uphold as a maid of honor, and how was I to do that with the burden of head lice on my mind and on my scalp?
The bridal shower was an unendingly troubling affair for me. I was so severely conscious about my head lice problem that I found it difficult to engage fully. It was fairly obvious, and as a major figure in the preparations and hosting of the event, I felt like I had let my friend down somehow.
Tumblr media
It didn’t take me long after trying various ineffective remedies to realize that I needed a better solution, if I was to make it through the wedding events without hopelessly itching away at my scalp.
A mere five days before the wedding was scheduled, I found Lice Master. Their head lice removal service was a heaven-sent, and honestly, I barely had to lift a finger to get the job done.
All I had to do was book an appointment, and their technician arrived, right at my doorstep, looking like any other visitor making a house call. With all natural, professional lice removal Miami, I was completely free of lice by the end of the visit, and the following days showed no signs of any stragglers left behind!
Based in both Miami and Coral Gables, Lice Master was truly the answer to my prayers—and of course, the wedding went off without a hitch, or an itch!

Head Lice Treatments And Behavioral Problems In Children
When it comes to choosing a head lice solution, most people opt for over-the-counter (OTC) lice removal products. The desperate urge to get these critters out often triggers affected individuals to overlook the harsh nature of the chemical ingredients present within these products.
Tumblr media
Several studies have shown a link between lice removal treatments and behavioral issues among children. Several lice removal products contain pyrethroids – chemicals used in common pesticides – that is known to cause abnormal behaviour in children. In addition to lice removal products, pyrethroids are also found in mosquito repellents.
Although pyrethroids can damage the central nervous system of lice, it isn’t safe for children and adults. Excessive or prolonged exposure to pyrethroids, along with other problematic products with chemicals can adversely affect the social skills of young children.
In addition to the health hazards, OTC lice removal products fail to kill the root cause of lice i.e. nits. Nits are a bigger problem than lice.
A female louse can up to ten nits every day. Nits are found near the scalp and have a light brown, white or yellow color. Once the nits start to hatch (7 to 9 days), their shells remain glued to the hair shaft. As the hair grows, the shells move farther away from the scalp.
Hatched nits are known as nymphs. The nymphs become adult lice in 9 to 12 days.
Nits are glued to the hair shafts. Most OTC products can kill lice but not the nits. The only reliable way? Do it manually.
This means you need to check your child’s hair regularly for nits and lice. Look for common signs such as sores on head due to scratching or a moving sensation in the hair. You need to check your child’s hair strand-by-strand.
Best lice removal treatment
It’s tempting to use an OTC lice removal product because they are available everywhere.
These products are toxic and contain harmful chemicals that are bad for your hair and your health. Not to mention, some species of lice become resistant to OTC products.
Therefore, you need natural and safe lice removal treatment. Lice Master offers professional lice removal service miami beach in a comfortable setting. The company uses natural and effective treatments and offers free head lice screenings and in-home treatments for busy parents who cannot afford to leave their house.
Call now at 800-748-9451 if you’re based in Miami Beach.

Is That a Louse Crawling in Your Child’s Hair?
For head lice, schools are the perfect breeding grounds. With young children working and playing together in close proximity, lice infestations tend to spread fast, wreaking havoc on their academic performance and emotional well-being in the long run.
Tumblr media
It is the school’s responsibility to take the appropriate measures and put policies in place in order to curb lice outbreaks, preventing a widespread epidemic that would serve to disrupt peak academic functionality in classes. You can’t have your students itching and scratching away at their scalps, and being alienated and ostracized by other children for their parasite problem.
As a parent, it’s important for you to know that your child’s school is doing its part in the equation to help ensure that that head lice are a problem that can be solved with relative efficiency.
Policies and Preventive Measures—The School’s Responsibilities
Most schools have in place a no-nit policy, wherein kids with head lice are not allowed to attend school if lice are detected. However, it’s essential that your child’s school have clearly stated guidelines on when the child can return to classes, such as after one treatment is carried out or after the school nurse gives the all-clear.
While no-nit policies may seem a bit too harsh, they are a necessary evil, so to speak. Head lice are contagious, and they spread fast. To curb the outbreak, it’s essential to isolate the infested victims to prevent an epidemic.
It’s also essential that the school take measures to inform the parents of students if head lice have been detected on the premises, as that allows them to take the necessary actions to screen their children for nits and provide them with treatment if need be.
However, rather than taking on the role of bad cop in a lice infestation situation, schools should work to create an atmosphere of understanding, wherein crucial information about head lice should be provided to both parents and students. Misconceptions such as the fact that lice carry disease—they don’t—or that they are a result of poor hygiene—they aren’t—create an attitude of hostility and disgust toward the children who are affected.
While parents have their part to play in the process, it would be ideal for your child’s school to also work to facilitate reasonable treatment solutions for the affected students. This can be as simple as providing relevant information to parents, advising them on the ineffectiveness and potential dangers of home remedies and over the counter chemical lice removal treatments.
The best possible option for head lice treatment is professional lice removal, wherein experts in the industry work to provide an all-natural solution to lice infestations.
Tumblr media
You can find such lice specialists at Lice Master, a head lice treatment center with locations in Miami, Coral Gables, and numerous other regions in Florida.
They provide a kid-friendly environment, assuring that not only is the lice removal process entirely effective, it also presents no risk of harm to young clients.
They also provide head lice screenings to schools, which can be a handy tool for school management in the bid to curb lice outbreaks.

The Dreaded Sleepover: What Parents Should Do
Sleepovers are always a fun event for children. They play games, watch movies, and eat together. But a sleepover is also a worry for most parents because they always want their child to be safe. So, here are a few rules that the host of a sleepover must take into account.
1. Do make sure that everything is organized. Ensure first that no child has any food allergy and prepare the food accordingly.
2. Do make sure that there are different activities available for all the children to do. If the children are older, let them be on their own but do keep an eye on them.
3. Do keep the number of children reasonable. And set certain rules of the house that must be followed by all.
4. Most important of all, do keep the every parent’s contact information at hand so that in case of an emergency, they can be called immediately.
5. Do make sure the children bring their own sleeping bags and pillows.
But do you know that when a child sleeps in a place over which their parents have no control, there are always chances that they may bring home bed bugs or even lice. So, it is always important for parents to educate their children about this problem.
Preparing And Educating Children
Lice are parasitic insects that are found in the heads, eyelashes and eyebrows of people. Lice can spread from one child to another when they get too close. They feed on the blood of humans a number of times a day. Though they do not spread disease, they are a nuisance.
In the US, lice infestations are extremely common amongst young children. According to data, around 6 to 12 million infestations, on estimate, occur every year in the country.
Since head lice cannot fly or hop, they move by crawling. As children spend time together, if one is  exposed to the head of an infested child, the lice may spread due to direct contact.
Head lice also spread by contact through clothing, hats, scarves, etc or other things such as towels, brushes and combs. Therefore, there must be emphasis on the importance of cleanliness and personal hygiene in homes, schools and children must be educated about them when they are going for sleepovers.
At Lice Master, they help parents get rid of the lice in their child’s head. They offer the best lice treatment services in Coral Gables. For details, contact now!

The Critter Of Our Quarrels: How Lice Caused Strife Within My Family
“Blood is thicker than water” they say. That may be true, but let me tell you about something that beats the thickness of blood anytime. It’s a tiny, creepy four-lettered word called LICE.
This is the story that proves my point.
The parting summer, my family decided to get together for an overnight trip to the farmhouse resort. The was a perfect Miami weather, the perfect time to fulfill a long-standing tradition of every generation in our family coming together for catching up and playing ball together.
Tumblr media
With 8 toddlers roaming around, bumping into every adult at every given chance, you can imagine the humdrum. Taking over the kiddy pool, chattering about nobody knows what and grabbing everything sweet first on the picnic table, these little ones are the brightest parts of our family.
Let’s fast forward past the happy stuff. 22 hours of pure fun and we were back home—my parents, me, and my kid brother. A day passes with us still day dreaming about the sun and grass, and that is when my mother gets a phone call.
A Lice-y Tension
Here is what I got from my mother’s end of the call: it’s an aunt, there’s a kid, there’s something about a scratchy head, they think it is lice, and they “checked” on us to make sure we don’t have them either.
Naturally, the call turned into 20 more minutes of speculation regarding who had the lice in the first place. Given that my mom’s tone changed from that of comfort, to self-defense, to annoyance, I can tell you this—everyone in my family is now blaming the other’s kid.
Apparently, Lice Come First…
To this date, we don’t know. All I remember is a number of disgruntled faces at the next birthday party, where each kid was conveniently not going too close to one another. Now I’d place the blame on the adults for turning a simple problem into a family-wide dispute, but I suppose I can understand their concern.
As for my brother, we had him checked for lice. The “lice lady”, or that’s what we refer to her as, found three teeny critters on the back of his head. The specialist was recommended by a neighbor whose four kids have ALL had lice. They also advised us to recommend the rest of the family to get a treatment. Thanks, but not facing that.
I will however recommend them to any of you. Lice Master offers natural lice treatments in Miami Beach. You can call their specialists at 800-748-9451; they do in-home lice treatment appointments, which is pretty convenient.
In the end, I’ll say this: if anyone in your family ever gets lice, don’t do what my family did. Kids can get lice from anywhere, there schools, friends, or family.
As for my family, they’ll come around soon (maybe). Here’s hoping I don’t have to sit around at anymore awkward family events.

Lice Shampoos and Why You Shouldn’t Use the Ones in Department Stores
Our hair is like an extension of our body. Just like our skin, it also needs a little TLC to keep it healthy and functioning. There’s a saying that the secret to awesome hair starts in the shower.
Tumblr media
Your hair care regime can either damage your hair or make it soft, strong, thick and luscious. The products we can not only help us maintain our mane, they can help us keep bacteria away.
But when it comes to lice shampoos, it’s imperative to choose a shampoo that helps you combat the problem, instead of damaging your hair.
Why You Should Avoid OTC Lice Shampoos
One of the first things lice victims do is rush to the department store to find solutions. Without putting in much thought, they add everything that’s labeled ‘anti-lice’ to their cart.
While there is a perception that anti-lice products aren’t harmful to human health, this is far from the truth.
One of the main ingredients for lice shampoos is lindane. Lindane is a chemical that is used for getting rid of insects. It’s mainly used as a pesticide.
However, according to one study, the chemical is known for being toxic and carcinogenic. It has led to deaths and seizures.
Not only this, these shampoos contain other ingredients that we’re unaware of. If you pick a bottle at the store, you will notice that the list of ingredients lists names that we don’t recognize. This is because many ingredients used are referred to by their scientific terms.
This makes it difficult to find out what has been added and it misleads lice victims.
Why Choose Natural Treatments
Natural treatments don’t refer to home remedies because home remedies require using products from departmental stores. When referring to natural treatments, ingredients in their raw form are used.
It’s imperative to opt for natural treatments because you don’t want to damage your hair, risk your health, and let your mane become more vulnerable to infestations.
Lice removal services offer natural treatments and use special combs built using the highest quality materials found in the U.S.
These combs and treatments allow lice specialists to remove nits and lice from each strand of hair without any damages. Furthermore, the shampoos used are chemical-free and help get rid of lice without any stress!
Lice Master is a lice removal service in Key Biscayne that offers reliable and natural solutions to victims of head lice.
They only use natural products and offer in-home treatment services. Visit their Key Biscayne treatment center or call 800-748-9451 to book an appointment.

The Mane Question: Are You Using the Right Brush for Your Hair?
“Are you?”
A brush-shaped question mark, the answer to which many of us don’t even know.
Or should that even be a question? After all, every hair brush is designed for one purpose. And that is to get rid of those stubborn knots and style your hair.
Tumblr media
If so, then why are there so many different types of hair brushes available?
Surely, the big hair brush brands like Revlon, Sephora, Aveda etc. know what they are doing. They can’t be simply in the market, producing a plethora of hair brushes, when one hair brush might cater to all hair types?
That’s because they know the answer to that brush-shaped question mark.
They know which hair brush is ideal for which hair type, to style it the right way, without causing damage to the hair fibers.
And after reading this article, you too will be able to answer the unknown.
Types of Hair Brushes for Different Types of Hair
1. Tunnel Vent Hair Brush for Tangled Hairs
First on our list is tunnel vent hair brush. It has vents on it, and is primarily used for extra tangled hairs.  Some people may also prefer it for gently lifting the hairs while blow drying.
2. Semi Round Brush for Short Length Straight Hairs
The next on the list is a semi round brush. When you look at it from the front, you will find its base shaped semi-circular. We use it for styling straight hairs that are short in length. For example, bobs.
3. Paddle Brush for Medium to Long Length Straight Hairs
Let’s move on to the paddle brush. The paddle brush is very similar to a semi-round brush. However, it has larger cross section and a cushioned bristle bed. Paddle brush is used to style straight hair that is shoulder length or longer. Using it while blow drying your hair gives a smooth and gripped tension to your hairs.
Round Brushes for Curly Hairs
Round brushes are available in different diameters. They are primarily used while blow-drying thick and curly hairs, but those with natural bristles can also be used for curling finer hairs.
These are the most common types of hair brushes available in the market, suited for respective hair types. When using a hair brush to style your hair, it’s important that you pick the one that suits your hair type. And remember, don’t borrow from someone else or share yours with your friend or a colleague. Sharing hair brushes can lead to lice infestation.
Take care of your hair!

Why Have We Allowed Head Lice To Rule Our Lives
There is one thing about treating head lice people don’t seem to realize. One of the common parasites is actually smaller than a coin – even when fully adult. Yes, removing head lice and nits can be difficult but not impossible.
So, why do people dealing with head lice infestations at home or school feel as if their lives are ruined forever? Why do we allow such an insignificant bloodsucking critter to rule our heads and lives?
Tumblr media
The answer may be shocking. The fact of the matter is – we are scared of people knowing we have a lice-y situation going on. We are scared of the judgmental stares and whispers behind our backs of people close and near.
Head Lice and Social Taboo
We are living in the year 2017 yet still some people consider lice to be dirty and shame people who are dealing with this issue at home. This is why most people prefer taking the so-called easier route when it comes to head lice treatment and removal.
Chemical based OTC lice removal solutions were once the most popular method of lice removal. AARP and other such associations have discouraged use of such treatments. Yet frantic parents are choosing them over the correct lice treatment i.e. manual nit and lice combing.
Chemical Usage in Lice Removal and No-Nit Policy – A Fictional Story
There are many schools in Florida that still follow the no-nit policy strictly, sending out lice notes to parents about the situation. The following story is also from a mother’s perspective, called to her daughter’s school.
The story is about a hardworking single mother and her beloved daughter. Both have a strong relationship, where one helps the other through life’s tribulations.
The story starts with a simple phone call. At work, the phone rings. It’s her daughter’s school! We found head lice in your daughter’s head. Please come and collect her from the school.
There are additional instructions stating the child cannot return back to school unless lice are completely gone! She walks in dazed… trying to picture her daughter sitting in her classroom and laughing at her friend’s jokes.
In reality, the daughter is sitting in the principal’s office with head bowed down and an ashamed look on her face. What is to be done now? Simple…the woman takes her daughter by the hand, walks to the car, and heads towards the nearest lice removal clinic in Miami.
Call Lice Master now and enjoy professional lice removal and inspection services!

Lice 2017: The Bliss Of A Preemptive Strike
Big problems often come in small packages; lice are a living, thriving proof of that. An infestation of these mundane parasites is not just another encounter with the wrong side of nature; these tiny critters pack quite a punch. Before you know it, you will be trying to scratch your hair off, all while trying to avoid friends and peers from getting a sneak peek of your tiny hair guests.
That being said, the sooner you realize you have lice in your head, the better; more lice, more problems.
Tumblr media
A Sneaky Adversary
However, spotting lice is easier said than done by oneself. Although lice cannot jump or fly (imagine the terror if they could!), they do move rather fast, which makes them hard to catch.
A typical infestation includes 10 – 20 lice, and if not addressed soon, their numbers will multiply at an alarming rate. Lice can lay up to 10 nits per day; you can imagine the imminent disaster once a dozen or so of these critters begin their colonization rituals.
For that reason, detection and diagnosis of head lice requires attention and expertise.
Lice may be in your hair right now, and you are blissfully oblivious. No itching? That does not necessarily mean you are free of lice. While humans are typically allergic to louse saliva—released when the pesky critter bites your scalp—some people do not feel the itch entirely.
Other symptoms of lice infestation include:
Crawling sensation on your scalp
Seeing a critter crawling through the hair strands
The presence of nits, typically near the roots of hair
Swollen lymph nodes
Red eye
The best way to thwart all attempts by lice trying to raise a family in your hair is to observe where your hair has been.
Keep An Eye Out
If you have children, or you are consistently present around children, then definitely watch out for a possible critter invasion. It is best to check your child’s hair, and then your own, once every few weeks.
Don’t Ignore The Signs
You may dismiss any consistent itching as a sigh of dandruff, but the two hair epidemics can be confused, so be cautious.
Get A Screening
A lice screening is always a sure-fire way to know about potential unruly guests in your hair. Lice specialists have both training and experience in lice checking and removals, and their services will improve the odds of these parasites actually backing off without compromising your hair with a slew of sticky nits.
All in all, early detection is the key to nip this ordeal in the bud. Lice Master is a lice treatment service in Miami Beach that offers meticulous lice screenings and lice removals. Call them up at 800-748-9451 to make an appointment. An early screening gets the lice… quite possibly all of them.

Head Lice Episode II: Return of the Critters
‘Not again!’, you think to yourself.
After a lice treatment and finally getting rid of the tiny wingless creatures, there is nothing worse than having to see them back in action.
The return of the head licecan be even worse. You will have to go through the entire drill again; as if once was not enough. You’re convinced that lice are your worst nemesis.
Tumblr media
Reasons Why the Critters Might Return
Here are two possible reasons why the critters might return:
The Treatment (Whatever It Was) Might Not Have Worked
Over-the-counter or prescription drugs might be able to kill live lice, but are not effective with lice eggs or nits. This is the reason these products are employed two times, 9 days apart (it takes a female adult louse eight days to hatch an egg).
If the shampoos or lotions are not reapplied, the lice can reappear. What’s more horrific is the fact that you might not know that immediately, whiletheykeep hiding in your furniture, bed and clothing.
You Might Get It from Someone
From gym to school, head lice canmake their way back (again) into your head or your child’s head from another person’s head.
Although you do not have control over your environment outside of your house, there are somestepsyoucantake to minimize your chances of acquiring lice from somebody else’s head:
· Avoid head-to-head contact
· Do not share wearing items such as scarves, hats, etc.
· Do not use other person’s towels
Some Preventive Measures
Here are some tips to minimize chances of another lice attack:
· After you have gotten treatment, it is always agood idea to completely wash your clothing items, bedding and stuffed toys with hot water.
· If there are items that cannot be washed, store them in a plastic bag for around three weeks.
· Thoroughly vacuum all your furniture and rugs.
Lice sprays and fumigants can be quite toxic. It is better to avoid these products.
Finally, do not blame your pet. Head lice are human-centric, so there is no point in doubting your furry friend.
Seek Professional Help
If the lice keep coming back, it is recommended that you hire professional lice removal services. These experts will carry out comprehensive home inspection and help you get rid of lice once and for all.
Lice Master is a natural head lice treatment service in Weston. Their services are quite affordable. What’s more, the lice specialists also offer a reliable guarantee. Visit their website or call them at 800-748-9451.

The Cultural Connotations of a Shaved Head
For many people, their hair is their identity. It’s how they are recognized, with their hairstyle reflecting their personality. Several celebrities in the past have hairstyles named after them, the most famous being the ‘Poetic Justice Braids’ that Janet Jackson rocked when she first made her film debut.
Tumblr media
But for lice victims, styling their mane becomes a nightmare.
Not being able to experiment with different styles, they’re often desperately trying to get rid of the nuisance. Most resort to shaving their hair to relieve them of their struggles.
But, is shaving your head the only solution? For some people, it doesn’t mean much. But in some cultures, it means life and death or punishment.
Yes, you read that right. It’s hard to believe, but in different cultures, shaving one’s head means different things.
Here are a few cultural connotations of shaving your head in different parts of the world:
Shaving Your Head in Japan: Punishment
In Japan, if someone shaves their head, it means they’ve done something bad. Recently, a pop idol from a famous girl group, AKB48, had to shave her head because she broke her management firm’s rules.
In Japan, most people after breaking up, chop off their hair to signify the end of their relationship.
Japanese schools also use this as a form of punishment. When children in Japan first start attending school, their heads are shaved off to teach them about the consequences of doing wrong.
Defense Mechanism in Ancient Greece
In Ancient Greece, soldiers were required to shave their heads as a form of defense. This was done so that the enemy could not grab them by their mane during a fight.
It also symbolized dominance and authority, and still does in some cultures. Some also believe that men with shaved hair are twice as strong as those with hair (Samson is turning in his grave right now).
For different people, shaving their hair means different things. In Japan, it’s punishment; in India it’s mourning the dead; and Greece, it was a form of defense. But for lice victims, it’s a way of relieving them from their suffering.
The truth is, you don’t have to shave off your hair in order to get rid of lice. You can’t live with no hair forever. But you can take action against head lice.

The Walk of Shame: How I Found Out I Had Lice on the Bus
It’s been three years now since the horrific incident took place. Although I have been doing pretty well in life, thinking about it still sends shivers down my spine.
Tumblr media
A Carefree, Innocent Teen
Let me give you a little background of how my life used to be before this incident took place. In Sophomore year, I was doing great as far as studies were concerned.
From learning Greek language to being active on the field when playing Football, I was the high school kid who everyone inspired to become.
With things being great at home, I had an almost perfect life. All I was looking for was ‘true love’ (not sure if I understood what that was at the time).
The Girl I Thought Was the Love of My Life
I had been staying at my friend’s for the night. As soon as the sun came out, I got on a bus and headed back home. Little did I know that I was going to have the most embarrassing experience of my life.
In the bus, I sat with this cute, young lady who, for me, met all the definitions of beauty. Surely, I wasn’t going to resist talking to her.
From taste in music to books, it seemed as if we had met through some divine intervention. Everything seemed so perfect.
As we were talking about our favorite Rom-Coms, I felt something crawling at the nape of my neck. I ignored it as the conversation was so amazing.
Lice – The Deal Breakers in All Senses
I had no idea that the thing crawling at the back of my neck could be pediculus humanus capitis (head lice).
As it crawled its way towards the front, I saw a strange look on her face – a look that can be described as a combination of horror, disgust and pity.
It was so embarrassing that I had to get off the bus and walk back home with shame, guilt, humiliation and other negative emotions that I can’t even name them all.
Dejected and depressed, I got back home and tried to forget all about her. Even today, I wonder what memory she would have of me.
Lice Master proved to be my way out of this despair. I was recommended by a friend and rightly so, their team provided me with impeccable Head lice treatment plantation.
The lice removal service in Plantation uses safe and natural ingredients and ensures that lice are completely discarded.

Pro Head Lice Busters: What Their Services Do For You
It is a lice attack, and you have been bombarded with advice on remedies! While these little informative pieces may have worked in the past for your aunts and grandmothers, they stand little chance against the current iterations of these pesky little critters
Tumblr media
Away From Non-Pro Lice Removal Ways
The pesticides contained within these over the counter products are becoming useless against modern lice. After years and years of same old chemicals being used to kill them off, lice today are more resistant.
The next point of concern is that these products are quite severe on your scalp. The purpose of a lice removal treatment is to eliminate lice, not their entire habitat! The pesticides weaken your roots, and it will take a long time before your hair regains its original sheen.
Combing lice-infested hair with those plastic or aluminum combs is asking for frustration. These are usually not compelling enough to bring out the frenzied crawlers. Any other home remedies will only go so far against the stronger, mutated versions of lice.
Into The Meticulous Professional Ways
It is apparent that putting up a great offense against these creepy crawlers is no longer simple. What you need is professional help.
A lice removal expert works is a methodic manner, whether working within their facility, or in your home:
 1. The technicians will apply certain creams to your hair which makes it softer and thicker, thus more pliable to be worked on, and of course, more slippery for those critters and their nits.
 2. In spite of what you may have heard about high-intensity products being used in pro services, these technicians prefer a manual approach. High-grade combs with specially designed for additional effectiveness are used through softened strands to remove all lice and nits.
 3. The process is thorough, and the technician will ensure that your hair is a lice-free zone.
Aside from attention to detail, what makes a professional service even more compelling?
Convenience Of Service
Whichever one you choose – a short amount of time spent in a facility or a relaxed and discrete service in your home – a professional service guarantees comfort.
Safe And Natural Practices
Since lice removal services opt for a manual approach, the amount of products used is limited. The ones used are free of harmful pesticides and other toxins.
High Value For Affordable Charges
Most lice removal services have flat-rates for their services, eliminating vague hourly charges. One visit, one payment, and you are done with your critter problem. If your health insurance covers lice removal charges, then even more a reason for you to get professional services.
If you are looking for complete and convenient lice removal services in Coral Gables, head on over to Lice Master; their technicians are fully capable of treating the most deep-seated lice infestations. A single appointment, whether in their facility or in your home, is all you need to have a lice-free, stress-free head.

FAQs About Head Lice – Keep Yourself Informed About This Disgusting Bug
Nothing ruins a good day more than a lice scare—or a good moment! How many times has this happened; you scratch your head for the umpteenth time, wondering whether you’ve contracted lice from your 5-year-old.
Tumblr media
Here’s a fun fact; scratching isn’t always an indication of head lice.
Learning more about this bug will improve your chances of battling lice, even in its super form! Following are some questions asked by victims of head lice.
FAQ #1:
No lice were discovered even after combing for hours and feeling all the symptoms (itchiness, crawling sensation). What do I do now?
First off, calm down. Itching is caused by a number of things! It doesn’t mean you have head lice. In fact, many people begin to itch and scratch their heads just at the thought of head lice, so don’t worry.
If you don’t find anything (nits, live or dead lice) then you may not have a lice problem. That being said, consider the possibility that you’ve overlooked the evidence. You’re not an expert. Discovering lice is tougher for some.
Professional inspections are better than DIY lice screenings. Visit your nearest lice removal clinic miami beach and have your and your kid’s head inspected.
FAQ #2:
White flaky stuff can be found in my comb. What is that?
Wondering if this sticky white stuff is “nits”? Well stop wondering. According to board certified dermatologists with the American Academy of Dermatology, nits are oval-shaped and about the same size as a knot in thread.
These critters are difficult to see but can be easily felt with a fingernail running down the hair shaft from scalp. Their coloring varies from light gray and tan to yellowish and even white. After hatching, dull yellow shells can remain stuck on the hair shaft.
FAQ #3:
My daughter’s friend has head lice. Does this mean my daughter can have head lice too?
Simply put, it’s very likely, yes.
Remember, close contact is necessary for head lice to ‘travel’ to another host. Getting lice from a person with an infestation after head-to-head contact is extremely likely.
This is why you need to keep inspecting your child’s head. If you don’t, one week later, your kid’s head could be teeming with lice.
Don’t have time to conduct regular lice inspections? Think you’ll forget to do this one week? Schedule a lice inspection appointment at Lice Master.
