something I do appreciate about red vs blue is its particular brand of “came back wrong”. you were brought back, but you’re just a memory of the person you’re supposed to be. you’re just the expectations of them. you’re just the pieces everyone else saw and remembered. you’re tough like the original, but you’ll always fail no matter how tough you are, because the original failed, too. you’ve got a personality like the original, but it’s not quite right because you didn’t actually live the life they did. there’s this person you love- who you would kill or suffer or die for- but you don’t know why, you just know you’re supposed to be together because that’s what you were made for.

Red vs Blue S10 Spoilers!!

Gosh darnit I forgot just how good the writing is with this finale. We only see the director’s eyes so clearly once in the whole series, and it’s at his lowest point, where he’s a shadow of a shadow of a man. When Carolina looks at him as not only her boss, but her father. 

There’s no “I love yous”, no “dad” or anything like that - just one kiss to the forehead and mutual understanding. She leaves him to waste away watching the woman he loved say “goodbye”, the one he tried to recreate over and over. 

“You were my greatest creation,” I’m in tears. Absolute tears.

Thought about red vs blue too much, 3 injured 21 dead

I find it interesting that right before the final s13 fight, Lopez baisically asks not to be repaired if he dies in this fight. He asks to be turned into scrap. This... I could be overthinking it, but overthinking is my favorite thing ever, so...

I think it's because he can take more damage then anyone else on the team. He can survive as just a head for god's sake. So, if Lopez is actually damaged enough to be shut down... he's probably not the only one.

It's likely that if he does Die and get brought back, he'll be one of only a few survivors. Maybe even the only survivor.

And he would rather die and stay dead then expiriencing that.
