Above are the MOODBOARD for each floors. Why am I having different moodboard? It is because each floors have their own different functions. 

Ground Floor- YELLOW COLOUR SCHEME

Firstly, I had do some research about definition of colours. Yellow means happiness, hope and positivity. There is also phsychology test using different colours bring different mood. So a yellow space will increase people’s productivity in work witha positive emotions.

First Floor- BROWN COLOUR SCHEME

Next, the reason to choose brown colour is because it brings the elegant, frienliness and warmth feeling, while the space is a semi-open space, for a more formal activities used. Thus, wooden and leather is the main material used in the space. 

Mezzanine Floor- GREEN COLOUR SCHEME

For the computer used space, it is an open secret that watching too long blue light screen may harm to our eyesight. So, green colour can soothe and refresh our eyesight, as well as bring the calm feeling. Besides that, green is also meaned growth, it could be growth of productivity in work too.

Second Floor- BLUE COLOUR SCHEME

The chosen blue is more to a baby blue, rather than sharp sky blue. The reason to choose a lighter pastel blue is because it is more calming and relax. With a soothing colour, the user can get a better rest to sleep soundly after stress work.

After that, this will be the final sketch of the space and furniture design. Although the concept is "Flexible", there are normal desks and chairs implemented into the space as for other formal activities to do, such ah meeting, consultation and discussion.

After finished the building program part, so these were the sketches of brainstorming the concept- "FLEXI-ABLE" in the space and furniture design. Flexible is a big and wide word to understand, different people would have different thought of it.

"Flexible" can be squishy, mudular, foldable, bendable and so on. At last, I decided to use "Tetris Block" as my main form of shapes. The reason to choose it is the shape is simple and unique, but we can play around with the shapes while we form them together. It is quite fun and challenging your imagination after assemble them together.

BUILDING PROGRAM

Next, this is the brainstorming of Building Program, because the space planning is more important than designing. So, there is a 4 floors building in Bangsar. I had separated different zone for each floors. Ground floor will be the Open Working Space, first floor will be the Semi Open Space, mezzanine floor will be the computer lab and top floor is a napping zone.

The reason to plan in this way is because the bottom floor must be access by everyone, so it will be more noise. While the first floor still access by people but less than ground floor. And then the top and top floors are less people access, so without questions, it is more suitable to set top floor as napping area.

Above is the First step before getting idea 💡 - CHOSE THE TARGETED ISSUE TO SOLVE AND DESIGN THE SPACE

Between all of the categories, I had chosen CORPORATE AND TECHNOLOGY AS MY FIELD OF SPACE TO DESIGN, while the issue chosen is LACKING OF FLEXIBILITY FUNCTIONS OF COWORKING SPACE. For example, COWORKING space is not yet a trend in Malaysia and the design is mostly rooms.. and rooms.. and rooms.....

Thus, the concept used in the design is FLEXI-ABLE. It is from the original word "flexible", so why am I separated it? Because in my research, "FLEXI" means a system of working in certain hour, while "ABLE" means skill, suitable and easy to use. Those are some keywords I searched. As such, I applied this concept into the space as well as for their activities, like flexible working hours, lining dress code, free snacks, team events, flexible i using the furniture (reassemble) and flexible in using the space (multi-functional).

Firstly, people in this era are relied on the convenience of technologies, like social media and other online application. They become not-used-to facing people and talk to them while purchasing or asking information. So, an unmanned shop has become a convenience to people and this makes them feel more comfortable. For instance, they can pay by scanning the QR code and get their stuff on the spot. If there is dishonesty or stealing incidents, there will be an alarm rang when the sensor senses the code on the items close to the main entrance. 

After that, waiting for cashier has also become troublesome to people because of wasting time when long queue. So, it is better without a cashier system to purchase ,but using your phone to scan the code and pay by online application.

In the design, after ordering your food, you need to wait for around 5 to 10 minutes, your food will be reached soon. For takeaway food rules, after scanning the QR code, people can directly get their items and leave the shop. If dishonesty happened, the security alarm will ring when it senses the code of the items near the entrance. Only then, the security of the stadium will manage the situation. So, this is the function of an unmanned shop idea.
