“In discussions I've heard in the Church about same-sex relationships, I've always found people's stories (as told by them) helpful. I think this podcast is a sincere attempt to share stories of people who identify as Christian and queer, with the motive of promoting mutual respect and understanding.
As a Christian, it is always very hope-giving for me to see that affirming and non-affirming Christians are trying to lessen marginalization within the Church.”

Reblogging pictures of sunflowers in hopes that Le Boyfriend will stumble upon my blog and get the hint that I prefer sunflowers to roses.
Sunflowers are so happy, they’re, like, my spirit plants.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7, NIV)

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. - Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)
My dear sister,
1. God still loves you, no matter your past When it comes to your life story, sometimes there are parts of it that you would rather not think about, or maybe even want to forget about. Maybe it was someone that you dated or something that happened at work last week. Whatever it is, be encouraged in knowing that while it isn’t possible to go back and erase things, there is a peace and a comfort that comes with knowing that God knows every little detail of your story and He still loves you. He still sees you as His beloved daughter and in Jesus Christ, there is nothing that has happened to you and there is nothing that you have done that can keep you away from Him. So don’t be afraid or ashamed to walk with your head high, knowing that no matter what is behind you, God still wants to lead you in the right direction.
2. God knows the real you Instead of being your hardest critic, identify those areas in your heart that you desire to change and go to the Lord about it. As David declared in today’s verse, we have this opportunity to invite God in and search our hearts, knowing that He will lead us the right way. Don’t get so caught up in what happened yesterday, because that’s behind you now. Yes, that’s apart of your story, and yes, you may even have to deal with the aftermath of what happened in the past, but let’s talk about today now. Talk with God about about the chapter of life you’re currently in. Invite Him in, for He alone knows the real you!!
3. God is transforming you daily I know you might feel like you’re not making any progress, but in Jesus’ name you are. Everyday, God is teaching you something and you are growing! Day after day might seem to be the same, but know that it is not. Each day is a new opportunity to draw closer to the One who wants to search your heart and clear the darkness out of it; transforming you, and giving you a story to tell.

life with bae
The most challenging thing about cooking for your lactose intolerant boyfriend is the inability to put butter, cream, and cheese in anything.
I’m famous in my own world for making phenomenal steak served with mashed potatoes; I made steak yesterday but my boyfriend insisted on eating it with rice because my mashed potatoes contain butter and milk. :(

Practice minimalism; heavenly wealth is not material.

““Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:19-21‬ ‭MSG‬‬

So that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me.

I don’t blog a lot of personal thoughts anymore, but today, I want to say that I am incredibly thankful for my boyfriend. He motivates me to be a better person (and a better cook!) and his smile makes me fall in love with him again and again, everyday. I am humbled that God has brought such a beautiful soul into my life. This goes to show once again that if we put all our trust in God, He will not fail us. I pray that for the rest of this year I will stay grounded to my faith and allow God to be a beacon that dissipates all darkness and evil and guide me in my walk with Christ.
