              CHAPTER ONE –– TOO DEEP FOR THE INTRO

“ᴀɴᴅ ɪғ ᴀ ɴɪɢɢᴀ sᴛᴇᴘ ᴜᴘ ᴛᴏ ʏᴏᴜ, ᴛʜᴇɴ ʏᴏᴜ ɢᴏᴛᴛᴀ sᴄʀᴀᴘ 'ᴇᴍ. ʏᴏᴜʀ ɴᴀᴍᴇ ɪs ᴀʟʟ ʏᴏᴜ ɢᴏᴛ, ᴛʜʀᴏᴡɪɴɢ ʜᴀɴᴅs ʙʏ ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴀᴛʜʀᴏᴏᴍ.”

XIOMARA tapped her stiletto length nails against the back the black wooden table as she continued waiting in the conference room. 30 minutes passed before her ears perked up at the sound of the glass door opening. “Sorry we’re so late. We’re going to make this quick so you can get out of here.” The casting director, TALIA sat down across from XIOMARA before taking out the contract from her folder.  “Okay Xiomara, all you have to do is put your signature here and here, then we’re all done.” TALIA handed XIOMARA a pen before allowing her to place her signature on the contract.

“February 12 is when we’ll start filming. The entire crew will show up at your new residence at 9 AM so be ready. It’s going to be a long day. I’ll email you the rest of the details but we’re so excited to have you back with us. You were always a fan favorite. This time, we’re going to keep lighters away from you. Especially after your last season on Ex On The Beach. We don’t need that to happen again. Remember, I’m putting my job on the line for you so please don’t disappoint me.” TALIA stated as XIOMARA nodded in agreement. The last time she appeared on reality TV, she had a public breakdown that resulted in her getting to a physical altercation with a few of her cast mates as well as starting a fire in the house. “I’m a better person now. Therapy is working so don’t even worry about it. I’ll see you guys in February then. Thank you for this opportunity again, Talia.” A smile appeared on her features before she opened her arms, pulling TALIA into a warm embrace. After saying her goodbyes and grabbing her Versace purse off the table, she made her way out of the meeting room to exit the building.

As she waited at the elevator, she overheard her name being called as she looked up from her phone. “Mars, wait! Before you go, we want you to meet one of the girls that’s also apart of the cast. Xiomara Fuentes, meet Kori Wright. You guys have a lot more in common than you think.” Her eyebrow raised slightly at the comment before she extended her hand, greeting KORI. “Nice to meet you, Kori. You can call me Mars.” She released her hand before offering her a warm small. “Nice to meet you too, Mars. They told you what we have in common right?” KORI questioned, her arms folded across her chest. “Nah, they didn’t. What’s so special about us?” XIOMARA inquired, her gaze turning towards Talia as she awaited an answer. “Well, you guys just happen to share the same baby father. Your girls are siblings.” A look of confusion was plastered on XIOMARA’s face as she tried to process what she heard. “No, he’s the father of my daughter. He knows for a fact our daughter is his. Hers? Not so much. We’ll need a paternity test to be sure. ” KORI stated, a smirk on her face as she continued staring at XIOMARA.

Taking a deep breathe, she tried to collect herself together before she did something she would regret. “Don’t do it, Mars.” She mumbled to herself before dropping everything that occupied her hands. She lost sight of where she was and how she needed to conduct herself once KORI brought up her daughter. ZANIAH was off limits to anyone. It was the quickest way to make her forget everything she learned in therapy and anger management. This wasn’t the time or place but she didn’t care anymore. Within seconds, XIOMARA grabbed a hold of KORI’s hair tightly before repeatedly connecting her fist with KORI’s face. The sounds of screaming and yelling faded into the background as she continued the assault to her cast mate’s face, not worried about the consequences. “Mars, let go of her! What did we just talk about??” TALIA yelled out, calling for security to break up the altercation between the two girls. “Don’t ever have my child’s name in your fuckin’ dirty ass mouth again. I’ll beat the fuck outta you every time I see you!”
