It implies something totally different in my life. I adore everything about tennis and how it has impacted who I am now. Tennis has taught me many valuable lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life, including discipline, integrity, and leadership. When I was eight years old, I began playing tennis. My family and friends did not participate in the sport. It had always been a dream of mine to take up a racquet and play. I decided to join a sport activity in our school, which is intramurals, because it was a personal decision. By playing competitive tennis outside of school, I quickly learned how to set and achieve goals.
In this sport, I made a lot of friends, gained experience traveling to different places, and, of course, bagged a lot of medals and trophies. As time went by, I enjoyed joining tournaments here in our country, both regional and national. I joined R1AA, Palarong Pambansa, Batang Pinoy Luzon, Batang Pinoy Philippines, the Philippine Tennis Association (PHILTA), and many more.
I have played on the tennis team throughout all eight years of my elementary and high school careers. I've learned many things on the court over the years, but the one I treasure the most is the power of letting go of what I can't control. Tennis is a challenging sport for a variety of reasons. To begin, tennis is mostly a strength sport. It takes time and effort to improve, and if one does not stay up with and consistently practice, one begins to regress and lose things that were previously accomplished flawlessly. If one truly desires to be good, devotion is required. One must also be able to endure. Tennis does not require a lot of long-distance running because it is mostly done in quick sprints and bursts. Playing on a team with other people and having to work with others was an experience in my life that I had never had before. Another reason for the game's popularity is its emphasis on teamwork. The team's cohesion is so strong and demanding that everyone must participate, whether they want to or not. I rapidly learned that honesty and loyalty are required for a team to function successfully. The team aspect of tennis, on the other hand, caused me to lose respect for some of my teammates.
It was difficult for me to walk away from something so significant, but it would be beneficial in the long term because of my ability to detect an unhealthy environment and remove myself from it. Team tennis taught me the value of honesty. Integrity is required to demonstrate excellent sportsmanship and honesty. Taking this as a beneficial experience, I realized that in the future, I would have relationships that needed to be identified as detrimental or unhealthy. My core values were enhanced after eight years of working on a team.
