since i keep seeing this as a reoccurring theme, i have to say something. look, folks. you have to stop scaring people from coming into the fandom and those already in it by hounding people for not knowing every detail of lore out there about. i sure as hell don’t know the entire star wars canon, but does anybody actually know the entire timeline? i’m sure there’s dedicated fans, but most don’t. most have only collected pieces and parts of the lore out there and work their portrayal from those details.

and you know what? that’s okay! you don’t have to know everything. it’s okay not to know anything and to not only ask for help, but to not include those things in your portrayal! if i see ever see anyone getting shit for not knowing things, i’m going to do something about it because no one deserves to live in fear for doing the slightest thing wrong in their place of comfort. this is a place for people to learn and build their knowledge about something they love, not to be scared away from it. if i see one of you giving another person a tough time about it, i’m going to punch you on sight without any questions asked because we can’t and shouldn’t tolerate that level of ignorance here. we should be lifting each other up and lending out a hand to people who need it.

so please, PLEASE, if you see someone new to the fandom, help them out! lend them resources or let them go to you for information if they need it.
