Your site currently isn't working, for me at least. It's just a white screen with the page title being Application Error. Any tips on how to fix that?
investigating-- The database credentials likely changed.
Update: Heroku, the platform hosting Lighthouse, is down.

Hi, uhm, what width and height are the headers? I am dumb and can't figure it out.
If it helps, we used exclusively relative units for headers hahaha...
The ratio was figured out by a member of the community (whose system name is eluding me but I know they were a Luigi introject? If this sounds familiar please drop a comment and we'll edit this post). The ratio is 35:1, so like... 250px by 1550px would probably fit.
It's a really wonky ratio, and we plan to come up with a better layout in 2.0.

Forgot to add that our student loans will be paid off in full in July and once that happens, we'll be looking to increase the database's size. The next tier available, if we understand correctly, is unlimited space.
This will mean that Lighthouse will become over $100/month to run if we do. While we definitely can cover that, we are currently applying to jobs in another state (specifically California) and when/if that move happens, things will get a little bumpy. We don't like asking for donations, so we might see if there's another way to raise funds if needed.
We're getting close to the file capacity for our database, so we may decide to scale back the max upload size for avatars and headers to keep Lighthouse in compliance.
We'll eventually need to upgrade, and we'll give more details on that when they're available.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is a bug or just my pc, but when I go to type into any of the text boxes while using a font other than the default it will switch back to the default font. It gets worse when I try to use any of the formatting options it will put the word I formatted into the default font and I can't change it back.
Hey! We'll try to re-create the bug and fix as soon as we can!

I can't edit any replies in Forums. I can edit the original post in each forum thread, but none of the replies let me edit them, though I'm sure it was possible last time I was using the Forums? Am I misremembering, or is something not working?
oops-- Yeah, that's not supposed to be happening. We'll look into it!

Not a big update, but timestamps now auto-format to your locale and time zone.

We have since deleted the comment on this post but we want to make something very clear. Our boundaries are non-negotiable. If we have blocked you, do not try and evade the block. We want to thank the individual in question for helping us realise that the blocking system on Tumblr isn't water-tight, but we also kindly (and sternly) ask that it does not happen again. Further attempts will be reported. -Nick
P.S: This is not aimed exclusively at one person, but rather a few people and this instance being the most recent. And also this instance being the straw that broke the camel's back. This has been a problem we have had with the larger plural community for around two years now, where we say "This is our stance and our boundary. Do not cross it," and the boundary is subsequently ignored.
We-- The Lighthouse System-- believe it's paramount to respect boundaries in a community like this one and as long as we're in the public, we will set an example and make it very clear how much we stand by that.
Hi there!! Came across your website today and was wondering about something. A recent up-and-coming communication tool/bot on discord is Octocon, any intends to possibly add this resource to your pages? Just curious!
Hi there!
We were hesitant to answer this due to worries of provoking fights. But we haven't added Octocon for a reason. When it was being developed and released, we had people trying to tell us how Octocon would replace Lighthouse. A different person (who has since been blocked) was insinuating Octocon had copied Lighthouse, and though they wanted to argue, we believe it was to get us to start a fight. When we joined Octocon's servers to watch how the public release went, the discord was alight with fights. There were always fights breaking out-- sometimes multiple at once-- in the discord with no one to stop it or moderate at all. Their tag on Tumblr was nothing but fighting for a while as well. The only thing we-- The Lighthouse System-- see about Octocon is negativity.
We cannot in good conscience recommend a community with an environment like that, especially to a group with a large portion being chronically traumatised. We want no affiliation with Octocon. We blocked the devs, the unofficial blogs, etc.
If you find any resources that uplift their community instead of dragging them down, please let us know! We'd be happy to add them.

is there a way to organize systems on the site? it appears to be in order of when each system was created/added on the site, but we wanna rearrange them for access purposes. is there a way to do that?
-hadeon, venka-mir @yuyuverse
Heya! Currently, we don't have any means to reorganise systems on the page. But that is something we're looking into for 2.0!

It should go without saying: We are not ok with anyone acting on our behalf when it comes to disagreements like this one. We do not condone brigading, so please do not act on doing anything in our name.

We're working on our backlog of journal skin submissions.
We want to apologise to the many artists who have submitted their wonderful creations over the past year, with no response from us. We started to get overwhelmed by it all and went silent, but we should have communicated that.
We're set to add about 20 30 skins. Some of them weren't submitted because multiple users submitted the same thing (multiple lesbian pride journals, so we entered one and credited both).

A couple tips if you are in a situation where you need to hide all traces of Lighthouse on your device:
Use Private/Incognito Mode. It won't save any data to your device and will erase all site data when you close the browser.
Use a strong, unique password for Lighthouse. Reusing passwords runs the risk of your account being compromised.
Use a password manager like 1Password (what we use), LastPass, or BitWarden. 1Password isn't free (it's ~$36/year), but LastPass and BitWarden have free options. This will let you set strong, non-guessable passwords while also not forcing you to remember all of them, which really helps systems with amnesia.
If you use your brower's private mode and a really strong password that you keep in a password manager, you should be able to avoid leaving traces of the site on your device.
Stay safe out there. We love you all.
We won't address the reason why for the emotional safety of our community, but we have made an urgent change to the navigation bar of Lighthouse.
There is now a "Quick Leave" button. Click/tap it, and you will be instantly redirected to Google's website based on your locale (Spanish users will be taken to google.es, British users will be taken to google.co.uk, etc.) It also replaces the page in your history, so if you had just opened Lighthouse and then used Quick Leave, clicking the back button would take you to an empty tab instead of Lighthouse.
Please stay safe and stay strong.

To clarify: The "Quick leave" button does not change your entire browsing history, just the immediate page you are on. We cannot wipe all instances of visiting Lighthouse from your browser; that would be a huge security flaw. It is for quickly hiding that you're on the website, in case others might be nearby.
