I hate so bad when people say that internet friendship isn't real. I ran a Zelda forum back in like the early 2010s, and two people met on there and became close. They got together and eventually married and now they have a child together. That's so incredibly bonkers and it's so real! I'm penpals with folks in the Gorillaz fandom. I've been friends with folks in the Sonic fandom for going on 20 years. Literally met my partner of almost 7 years online and now we live together.

These friendships are so real and it's heartbreaking to know some people have just completely shut out this avenue of connecting with others.
