I saw your tags and agree. 999 is an excellent jumping off point, however SSOOOOO much talking lol.

ZTD is just very scattered and hard to follow. If someone dislikes disjointed storytelling they would loathe this game.

Mystery people would eat this up and beg for more lol.

Zero Time Dilemma is best if you are willing to sit back and embrace the chaos. It’s just a really fun time to me.

I have nothing against visual novels, obviously I think they can be fantastic, and 999 has its moments of greatness but the moment to moment gameplay just doesn’t hit as much for me because most of the time, what they’re talking about is just. Math. Digital roots and basic addition. That is just not riveting to me.

All of this completely overlooking VLR, which in some ways I think has the best gameplay in the whole series (specifically when we’re talking about the puzzle segments).

People who think ZTD is worse than 999 is showing their whole ass. The story is just fragmented and you can't piece it together at all until you finish it. It fucking sucks bc you get blasted with new information, or spend like three hours to go nowhere lol. It's a surreal feeling that irritates the soul.

That doesn't mean the game is bad. If anything it means the opposite, it's doing a damn good job at keeping your attention.
