— back to school party : each year an epic party is thrown 1 week before school starts at a student’s house

— halloween party : weekend before halloween, everyone dresses up in their costumes and it’s extremely chaotic and hype

— spring festival : takes place on spring equinox, right before the start of the spring break. essentially a day for students to cut class, destress and have fun! rose petals littered everywhere, flower mazes, bouncy castles, school wide egg hunt, picnics while watching the sunset, school wide bonfire after sunset, school dance in the evening, large picnic area with seasonal foods and drinks, flower crown making etc.

— summer solstice picnic : students relax on blankets, playing a ton of fun board and card games. buffet section with snacks and drinks

— summer festival : outdoor games include watermelon eating contest, slip and slides, bouncy castles, basketball shootout, ring toss, orbeeze fun shootout, and DIY bracelets etc. and refreshments include cotton candy machines, ice creams, popsicles, slushies served in frozen fruit, juice stalls, fruit stalls, bbq chicken skewers, pizza, tacos, frozen yoghurt cup, wraps, hotdogs, corn on a cob, doughnuts, churros, french fries, fried carrot cake etc.

— fall festival : takes place annually on the fall equinox and includes activities such as apple and pumpkin picking, apple bobbing, pumpkin carving, outdoor harvest feast, pie eating contest, cornmaze, in season food and beverages, bake off etc.

— christmas festival : a day where we do a bunch of christmas activities such as gingerbread house contest, ice skating, snowman building competition, making diy ornaments and going to fun christmas booths selling small goodies, at night there is a christmas concert consisting of songs, dances, plays by students and one performance by some teachers

— winter festival : a day where we do a bunch of winter activities such as ice skating, ice fishing, snowboarding, building snowmen, building igloos, snowball fights, stargazing. in between these activités we can go to nearby towns and drink hot choco and eat chocolate muffins, pancakes etc.

— new years gala : held annually on new years eve. guests gather out in the school square to celebrate the final hours of the year, culminating in a stunning fireworks display and light show as the new year begins. the evening is simple yet elegant, featuring champagne or sparkling cider, an array of delicious finger foods to start, followed by a buffet dinner with exquisite dishes. guests can enjoy dancing, warm company and festive touches like sparklers, small safe firecrackers, party poppers etc. for added fun. attire is unofficially cocktail attire, and music goes from smooth jazz to upbeat and lively tunes as the night progresses

— valentine’s ball : masquerade ball held annually in february in celebration of this romantic month. the venue is adorned with roses, hearts, and soft lighting, creating a dreamy atmosphere. tables are filled with themed foods and sweets with secret messages hidden within its wrappers. waiters also double as letter carriers, allowing students to send anonymous messages to one another throughout the event

— halloween ball : held annually on halloween day, the venue is transformed into a spook show, adorned with eery decoration fitting the season. students can dance, mingle, enjoy themed foods lining the tables, and explore adjoining rooms and hallways designed as haunted corridors filled with jumpscares, riddles, and puzzles to go through in exchange for candy. scare actors also roam the school, ready to give unsuspecting students a great fright.

— lantern festival : the celebration begins with a school wide picnic but as night falls, the focus shifts to designing lanterns and releasing them into the sky. other activities include lion and dragon dances, fireworks display, and rice ball eating competitions

— ice cream socials : buffet full of a wide array of ice cream flavors, a toppings bar, cookies and brownies for crafting personalized ice cream sandwiches, a float station, as well as specialty gelato, sorbet, and frozen yogurt stations. people can relax on provided picnic blankets spread out on a field while partaking in a myriad of activities like slip 'n slides, live band performances, photobooths, ice cream eating contests and even water balloon fights

— storybook carnival : making the school a magical world of stories by decorating the classrooms as different books, having haunted houses, cosy hangout areas around the school, book sale + donations, special book-themed foods etc.

— basket auction : people place bids on baskets filled with food to win the opportunity to have a picnic with the basket owner and its contents

— workshop day : students can learn skills such as woodwork, sewing, gardening, or cooking from local experts

— creations week : art exhibitions, fashion show, game development club’s game exhibition, robotics club’s robots, ceramic crafts, music student’s musical artworks, poetry by literature students

— bonfire : late night bonfire by the beach roasting marshmallows, stargazing and talking

— prom : fun dresses, great music, dancing all night, hype band, air conditioned room, good food, cute date

— overseas trips : ski trips in switzerland, london, greece, hawaii, italy, tokyo, bali, etc.

— learning journeys : science museum, zoo, aquarium, butterfly sanctuary, national gallery, art gallery, farm, planterium, petting zoo, historical landmarks, theatre, industry tours, adventure park, laser tag, bowling, amusement parks, escape rooms etc.

— school wide sleepover : games, movie, pizza, endless amount of beverages and snacks, etc.

— arcade night : the school rents arcade games and puts it all around the gym

SPONSORSHIPS & THE ACTIVITY SQUARE 🦢 laurier academy dr

hi. uh. I may have forgotten abt this blog... BUT I HAVE SOME NEW IDEAS SO... do expect some posts.

Sponsorships. Laurier has a ton of them.

What do sponsorships do (other than provide laurier with money, lmao) and how do they affect students?

sponsorships: the academy

It definitely depends on the sponsor and how much Laurier allows them to do. For example, sometimes, a sponsor will only give students discount codes to use on their website through text. Other times, sponsors will be able to set up a stall in the entertainment street of Laurier's campus.

Generally, sponsors hope for the students to post about the food, makeup, skincare, service, stationary, or whatever online so that other people will buy from the brand.

Sometimes, brands will be specifically stationed in the amendities buildings (Aeos, Idle Hour, ReFlow, and Espoa).

Do expect some flyers hanging around about the brands-- some brands may even advertise a coupon code on the poster.

the activity square

The activity square is essentially the entertainment area. Cafes, student run events, Aeos, Idle Hour, ReFlow, Espoa, and Lemuna are here.

Lemuna (le-moo-na) is essentially the sponsor building. New products are constantly introduced here. Usually they're discounted, and oftentimes students will do a Lemuna haul/tour every week or month.

These are not the only companies that sponsor Laurier, this is just a short list. A lot of the times, free bees are given out to students. While makeup and skincare are more popularly sponsored here, you can find other things like ramen, ice cream, gum, and hair products here too.

sponsorships: the student body

As mentioned previously, laurier students receive discounts at sponsored shops. Students may also receive free PR, but usually companies like to target the top 30~ students in the school.

Students ranked in the top 10 should expect to receive at least 1-3 products through PR per week.

clubs

The script states that companies often sponsor clubs. Club company sponsors tend to receive stuff more often from the company, and companies usually correspond with the theme of the club.

Like for (my fav) the Afternoon Tea club, since it's a lolita fashion club, Flowerknows, Devil Inspired, and some smaller brands like Angelic Pretty like to sponsor this club.

Companies will financially aid the club and send in their products for the students to use either for free with no obligation to post about it, or in exchange for posting/directly advertising the products.

hey girlies, I had lucas' photo in the swans hall section on the website. I made the website far far before the scandal (I also don't stan NCT) and I added him simply because he came to mind when I thought of a male idol.

I completely forgot that I had him there, and went I went back to look at the laurier website to find some info about the buildings and staff, I saw his photo and quickly changed it to be of Nayeon instead.

I do not and never have supported lucas, I'm sorry I didn't change it sooner 😭😭

No but like it’s the fact that everytime I argue with an anti, they always go silent on me or resort to just insulting me…

“It’s lucid dreaming” With shifting, an hour in this reality feels just like an hour in your DR. Time is cohesive in your DR.

“It’s just maladaptive daydreaming” So like we aren’t sitting there daydreaming, we’re in a different world… You think the people who shift for years at a time are drooling in their beds for years? Some shifters shift IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS.

“It’s schizophrenia” I didn’t know deep meditation led to schizophrenia. Wow, scientists have gotta hear abt this one… the CDC or some shit better issue a warning about meditation.

“You’re lying” I know shifters (who’ve actually shifted) who have dedicated years of their life documenting stuff about their DRs on TikTok. Also how are thousands of people lying about the same thing. What about the shifters who are suddenly really good at something here because they (manually) learned how to do it in their DR.

“You’re crazy” act like an angel and dress like crazy 💃💃

so many people are averse to shifting while literally no one knows why we exist in the first place. "it's just lucid dreaming" as if that isn't fucking mindblowing.

# shifting

as mentioned above, i've been in the shifting community for a few years now, though i've never shifted. since my last 'shifting deep-dive' i've changed/abandoned nearly all of my drs, and am currently working on rebuilding my scripts

As an Asian American who grew up in the United States, I feel a bit sad that I couldn't experience all the cute things my mom was able to do back at home at my age.

The U.S. doesn't have a lot of social spaces for young people; I'd go on tiktok and see all these cute ass cake decorating, decoden, and photobooth places... and either none of them are in my area, or they're too expensive for me to indulge in (It's almost always just NEVER in my goddamn area).

Is that weird? Idk, but I just feel like a part of me is lost not being able to experience that kind of stuff as a kid.

That brings me to my idol cafe DR, I already designed the script, but I still got a lot to do in terms of having enough info to post abt it on here (and on tiktok).

I really wanted it to be a place for girls only, but apparently you can't refuse customers/employees based on gender even if it's to make like a safe space for women... and I kinda don't wanna change laws around, so I came up with a bit of a loophole to get around this law.

Anyway, it's super cute so far, I plan for this to cafe to also be on Laurier Academy's campus!

Simple ideas:

- Your singing stood out so much (in a good way) that your company pushed you to debut as a soloist

- At first, you didn’t like the idea of debuting in a group simply because you’re an introvert, and you thought it’d be too taxing mentally

- The other trainees were too intimidated by you to befriend you, making you have a hard time making friends. This led to the company simply debuting you as a soloist

- The aesthetic you wanted to have didn't fit the aesthetic of the other trainees/the other trainees had a different kind of concept in mind

More complex ideas:

- You stood out from other trainees in every way possible— it was almost impossible to put you in a group. No matter who was put beside you, you always drew the most attention. Because of this, many of your fellow trainees would feel envious of you— this led to your company making you a soloist because no trainee wanted to be in the same group as you

- Your parents wanted to debut as a soloist because they didn’t want any other member to take away the attention from you. (If you want to be in a group later)> You’ve always wanted to debut in a group instead, so you took matters into your own hands and somehow was able to convince the execs to put you into a kpop group

- You were a popular street busker in Seoul; your fans wanted you to always stay solo due to a comment you made about always feeling left out in a group in your school years. You were scouted, and decided to join a company to further pursue your career as a musician. To appease your fans, your company decided to debut you as a soloist
