For all that Friends and Sex and the City are ~problematic~, we still argue about them 30 years after they first came out and you can't say that about the majority of other TV shows
#they are products of their time#but if we keep talking about them this means they are well written#and their characters are iconic#sex and the city#Friends

I feel like the writing of Tobias and Cheyanne in Étoile are little works of genius because Tobias is “obviously” autistic, whereas Cheyanne can come across as “eccentric” but at the end of the day, they have the same traits.
Cheyanne is difficult, and rude, and does too much. She tries to teach classes where she’s not even remotely supposed to be, she has blatant disregard for social norms, and has a VERY strong sense of justice. She asks questions instead of doing what she’s told, and pushes past people’s boundaries because she doesn’t recognize that they are there.
She leaves rooms suddenly without answering people’s questions, and most of all, look at her mother.
What’s fascinating to me is Tobias does all these things too.
As far as I’m concerned the only difference between them (in regards to their neurodivergence) is they gave Tobias a pair of headphones. And this is what flagged Tobias’ autism for a lot of people. But furthermore it shows how little awareness there is about “classic” autism presenting in women.

That scene made me also think to the first meeting between Rory and Logan...
LOGAN: Master and Commander. RORY: The movie? LOGAN: No, that's what I want you to call me from now on. RORY: Ugh
Another beautiful thing about Tobias’ character is that he makes jokes. Like I never see autistic characters make jokes in tv shows!!! They’re always humourless robots and it pisses me off because autistic people are denied their humanity every single goddamn day!!
“What should I call you top gun”
“Maverick”
Like that’s a joke!!! He’s funny!! He has life in him!!
#I don't know if it was intentional#but if it was intentional#it was a great way to foreshadow their romantic relationship#etoile#etoile prime video

I think about how the Gilmore Girls writers have said they feel like every boyfriend Rory had was the one that made sense for her at the time and yet the one person who knew her from the beginning of the show to the end who most closely resembles a love interest is Paris. Paris has seen Chilton Rory and Yale Rory. And grown up struggling Rory. And dropout Rory and insecure Rory. Paris has been there for every era of Rory and every aspect of her. Paris has always been an important figure in her life for every era of Rory. So the one love interest who seems to make sense for any era of Rory seems to be Paris.

Frieren’s writer has such a big brain for using Himmel’s death as the tell for the passage of time.
Not only that it keeps him in the audience’s mind, shows how much influence has on the world, but I think it could also be interpreted as Frieren, an almost immortal being, finally became aware of the passage of time or numbering her days by how long it has been since she lost him.

#I haven't watched Dunmeshi yet but I totally agree#they are a bit of fresh hair#especially mao mao and frieren#well rounded female protagonists? and not oversexualized?#it's a huge win#apothecary diaries#frieren: beyond journey's end

wishing I could freeze time so fanfic writers could write all of their slow-burn enemies to lovers and gay porn and fix-it fics and all of their WIPs and prompts without having to worry about life and other responsibilities

Michael Sheen talking about how guilty pleasures don’t exist and his early thoughts about being a drag queen (both things I’d like to see Aziraphale embrace in the finale)
Watch the whole thing here (this clip is at 6:01 and I added the captions)
#glad he thinks guilty pleasures don't exist#I hope one day he will manage to play a drag queen#or even better do a drag show#just for once#michael sheen

We all know what erectile dysfunction is but literally no one is ever taught what vaginismus is and it can cause people to feel extremely lost, broken, and cause people to take their own lives. Raise. Awareness.
