No, seriously, please thank her. How do you think she probably feels right now? Some cretin stole over five years of her hard work and people are defending him because they seriously believe that all her work amounts to nothing. They’ve somehow been taught that Yandere Simulator is just a bunch of store-bought stuff and random things stolen from porn games. They don’t recognize Mulberry as a legitimate artist just because she made some memes that reuse other people’s creations because that’s what a fucking meme is.

This fandom is literally the most toxic hellhole I’ve ever witnessed in my 10+ years on the internet, and this most recent discourse is a perfect example of why.

Most people in the YS fandom are lovely people...but then there are absolute scumbags who are more than willing to condone/enable/drive someone to suicide, just because they don’t like him. And that is absolutely disgusting.

In case anyone has been wondering why I’ve been less active in this fandom in recent months...this is why. This is the exact reason why. I’m sick of waking up every day and seeing bullshit like this on my dash, or in the main tags. I’m sick of having to deal with the background radiation of toxic gremlins actively trying to destroy a 30-year-old man’s life for no clear and coherent reason (that hasn’t already been disproven dozens of times) other than for their own sick amusement. I’m sick of having to explain that a lot of those rumors are either false or extremely blown out-of-proportion to every batshit crazy gremlin I meet. I’m sick of seeing them in my inboxes, other people’s inboxes, raiding the Discord servers, infiltrating the tags, commenting on videos...I’m just sick of it. One can only handle so much for so long.

But at least I can walk away from the drama.

Yanderedev can’t.

Yanderedev can never walk away from the drama because he’s in the dead center of it. If I can barely handle listening to this BS drama for a year and a half, imagine how Dev feels, going on his 7th year of being in the public spotlight. Imagine how tired he feels, how frustrated he feels, how hopeless he feels. Imagine getting ever-so-closer to finishing Osana, but knowing that it will be in vain, because you will always be picked apart by those who hate you, no matter what you do? Imagine realizing that, even when it is all said and done, and the game is finally finished, this discourse may very well still haunt you for the rest of your life? Imagine feeling like you can’t even disable the discord chat or the comments for one day to block out the noise, without getting attacked for it? And imagine making a tweet about all of these emotions — essentially a suicidal cry for help — and people still have the cojones to say that you deserve to die?

That’s the kind of bullshit Dev has been dealing with EVERY DAY.

And if you’re one of those sick, twisted people who harass him, who aren’t taking this tweet of his seriously, who actively and continuously make a total stranger’s life a living hell...well, I don’t know what to tell you, other than that you seriously need to reevaluate your life choices.
