I do not usually make posts like this but recently I have seen a lot of content on Instagram, Twitter and I think tiktok too misunderstanding the meaning of intrusive thoughts, which may cause people experiencing them to be upset.
I have tried to shortly explain the difference of impulsive and intrusive and hope it will help people to understand and use the words correctly.

I think detaching disgust from morality is one of the keys to Chilling Out. You can find inner peace by being able to go "hm! Gross" and recognize if it's an actual problem or not. Cause if it's not an actual problem... it's not your problem 🙏 god bless

As a kid, when your parents are poor, you're poor. If they don't have money, that means none of you have money. But if someone's parents are rich, that doesn't necessarily mean the kid is. Sometimes rich peoples' kids aren't rich kids, they're just some rich freak's exotic pets that can talk but aren't allowed to.
#yeah I feel that last one#I’m not going to deny that I had privileged experiences as a kid#my parents brought me places to travel and stuff#but I usually had fewer things than other kids I knew because my parents would not purchase items for me unless they thought it was necessar#or whatever my dad considered ‘worthwhile’#which did not include much other than food#unless HE decided I needed it and signed me for something I didn’t want#I was not ever given any agency in how money was spend on me#my father had the means to pay for my education but didn’t#he has never paid for my rent or groceries#I was not given pocket money as a child and could not go out with friends#unless the friends were in a financial position to pay for me every single time#he allowed my sister to go so broke that she became sick from malnourishment because she couldn’t afford groceries#and when he split with my mother he simply refused to pay child support so she also became poor#so I’m not saying that I haven’t benefited from being raised in an upper-middle class environment#but just because someone’s parents have money doesn’t mean they have money#and honestly trying to sign up for OSAP and not being able to get anything because he makes too much money#when not a single cent of his earning has ever gone into my tuition or living expenses as an adult#was a real slap in the face#I <3 trauma dumping in the tags lol
