I can't tell you how funny I find the cover of the first book. Like at this point Li Yu is super explicitly Not A Koi. He is the most generic, grey, little fish imaginable. Everyone is judging Prince Jing so hard for doting on this dull little soup carp -- to the point that even the cover is like, nah, replace that boring thing with a koi!!! Poor Li Yu can't win for losing...

Personally, I think the best answer to the What Color Are An Ding Peak's Robes question is that they were originally yellow. Not the same shade as Huan Hua Palace's gold robes, but close enough that they do bring up bad memories for Mobei Jun from time to time, which the original Shang Qinghua definitely used to his advantage when he needed to manipulate the King of the North in the original story. Eventually, Mobei Jun caught on, and this tactic failed.

When AIRPLANE Qinghua became the peaklord in his timeline, he changed the color to pale blue. This annoyed every single one of his peers, who found it irksome and unnecessary. After his betrayal came to light, many of them assumed that Shang Quinghua had probably been laughing at them in private because he'd pretty much announced his change in loyalties by walking around in Mobei Jun's colors. Even though this is not accurate. The Mobei blues are much darker. Airplane chose the light blue because it reminded him of Mobei Jun's eyes.

Despite not being a horror fan, ive been enjoying gsgw. It never really felt scary to me. But today i went to a shopping mall for an errand, and before that i was reading the lucky mart arc. I definitely felt a bit unnerved by it

More Jiuyuan crumbs but make it omegaverse

Ok so I’m basing this off a fic I read awhile ago that I can’t remember but it was basically an omegaverse au where pretend alpha SJ is set into an arranged marriage with omega SY cuz the sect is like ‘a sweet omega will calm him down!’

Obviously the fic went in its own direction but I give you this direction:

SJ who is about to throw hands with the entire sect for arranging a marriage for him and this guys sister is literally the empress so he definitely can’t offend him but he’s HIM so obviously he will and he can’t like mate with this guy because he’s an omega but no one can know he’s an omega and his secret is definitely going to be found out and maybe this guy is a spy and look at him so doll-like such a perfect little omega that everyone would expect him to be if they knew and he wants to punch him but it’s just an omega so he won’t because it’s an omega and they don’t harm him so he won’t harm them unprovoked but—

SY who is just standing there terrified of this alpha sizing him up and he’s married to this guy so he’s obviously gonna wanna do IT but that’s terrifying and he’s never been alone with an alpha before not even his own family because attendants have always been standing around or his mother was there and this guy looks really mean and he’s a cultivator which means he’s strong so what if he’s about to enter an abusive relationship cuz there’s no way he’ll be able to fight back and—

That’s it that’s the fic. The two of them trying to overthink each other and be ten steps ahead when really they’ve taken 8 wrong turns and are on a completely different road headed in another direction.

Misunderstandings will eventually be resolved but something probably a sex pollen that reveals SJ’s true nature where the poor dude will be freaking the fuck out and SY’s just like ‘omg you’re an omega this is a dream come true.’
