I think with all the discussion of ttrpg and DND's monolithic hold on it there's a high likelihood of survivorship bias in these discussions.

Yes people should branch out to more ttrpgs (myself included), and yes DND is not a catch do everything ttrpg and such, but there might be a chance that you're looking, or in some cases actively looking for the worst examples of it, which rise to the top in search algorithms or notes and whatnot, and assume all dnd games are like that.
