I just don't think that there's this big majority of happy "neurotypicals" who aren't at all bothered by working a crappy full-time job just to barely afford a room in a shitty apartment in a world that gets scarier by the day and doesn't leave much time OR money for either connection, rest, self care or hobbies. Like I think that's a myth we are being sold to shame us into acting like we're fine too actually for as long as we possibly can

if you ever find yourself thinking “wow I scraped the bottom of the barrel with my energy with that and came out okay!” that’s the devil talking. you did not come out okay. you borrowed energy from the future. you will repay it if you don’t rest and replenish the borrowed energy first.
#I work 12 hour days#this is relatable on a cosmic level#I spend all of my first day off each week replenishing the future energy I borrowed in the past lol

hate when people are like "trust your gut! listen to your intuition!" like okay well my gut is telling me every person i lay eyes on is hunting me for sport and my intuition is saying i should find a secluded cave and live there forever so what do you suggest i do with that information

Any generalization of fairy tales is going to kind of fundamentally fail unless you are very specific about the definition of fairy tales (if you're using märchen or another form of categorization) and which culture(s) you're using as your basis, if your analysis is including other cultures that a given international tale might have traveled to, the biases of the folklore collectors (...particularly if you're dealing with German folktales collected by the Brothers Grimm) and the potential ways that they might have been received by the people (often though not exclusively women) who were telling them.

Remember "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" ? I feel like there's been a distancing from the "reduce" and "reuse" part and a favoritism towards "recycle" by corporate American.
Capitalism can still thrive with recycling in the mix. You buy Plastic Thing 1, throw it away after one use, and they take that and recycle it into Plastic Thing 2 and sell it back to you. All while continuing to harm the environment.
Reusing puts a damper on things. They can't sell you Plastic Thing 2 when you're still using Plastic Thing 1. Plastic forks, for example- there is literally no reason why you can't reuse plastic forks more than once (aside from maybe microplastics, but it's too late for that)
Reducing is the one everyone wants to ignore. Just don't buy Plastic Thing 1. You don't need Plastic Thing 1. Pick up a set of metal forks and use those for years. Convenience is killing the planet

I just desperately wish more people on here realized that religious conservatives view atheists as morally bankrupt, deeply angry people with no sense of morals, because they think that only religion can grant you those morals.
And when you insist that atheists are uniquely influenced by the dominant religion of their area, that atheists are too “edgy”, that atheists and atheists alone need to “unpack” what they’ve learned from that religion in a way that no other religious minority does - you are saying the exact same thing.
So maybe you should unpack YOUR religious shit first.
