god i’ve been switching between demon slayer, my hero academia and fucking dangonronpa (more specifically sdr2 gundham how i love you so) but suddenly had the urge to listen to the FMAB OPs and EDs and MAN i miss it lol

hi hi!! just out of curiosity, what's your favourite trait of zuko, ed and al? (maybe eren and armin too if you feel like writing abt them since i saw you tagged their names in your masterlist)

This made me realize how fast my interests change HGFHJGFHJF  answers under the cut because holy shit did i get carried away lmao

For Zuko, I know its cliché but i will say his entire redemptions arc is *chefs kiss* lol. But specifically, one of my favorite traits (honestly if you can even call this list a list of character traits lmao) of his is how passionate he gets about bettering himself and the Fire Nation. whether it was bettering his skills to capture Aang way back in season one, or when it came to stopping/reforming the harmony restoration movement after meeting Kori and her family and seeing the life all the elements made together, if he wants to change something for the better, he puts his heart into it and I absolutely love that about him. 

With Edward, I think my favorite trait about him is how driven and persistent he is. No matter what life throws at him he still keeps his heart set on his goals and does anything in his power to get answers, and him also passing the message along to Rose via “You have to figure it out. Stand up and walk. Keep moving forward. You've got two good legs. So get up and use them. You're strong enough to make your own path.” has seriously kept me going at times, especially when it comes to needing to advocate for myself, which did take me a while to start doing without needing someone to remind me to. Also his ending quote “There’s no such thing as a painless lesson. They just don’t exist. Sacrifices are necessary. You can’t gain anything without losing something first, although, if you can endure that pain and walk away from it, you’ll find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle. Yeah, a heart made fullmetal.” is so fucking beautiful i had to bring it up lmfao. 

With Alphonse, I love how he wants to see the good in people, even if those around him are trying to discourage his feelings. He goes out of his way to try to talk to the enemies, a heart to heart if you will, trying to understand their point of view to see if he could reach a middle ground, and all while being calm, patient, and collected. I think the biggest example I can give with his is how, after being kidnapped by greed and his companions (fuck greed for calling them minions. booo), Al pretty much lets them explain their side and while still disagreeing with the way to go about things, he doesn’t immediately jump into action to really stop them. After martel climbs inside his armor, he continues to talk to her like a friend, and even tries to shush her when they run into bradley. When he cares about someone (or something, him with cats make me sob) he does everything in his power to protect them. 

Now, i think the reason i don’t ask for SNK is because i read the manga and since it ended, i’m not on the hype train anymore. plus, of course the two characters i adore are the fandoms biggest issues lmao. So, i’ll include them in this, but i’m not gonna get into shit. y’all can find that on twitter lmao. this also may be shorter just because again, i'm not really into it as much as the other shows anymore. this will also be in past tense for that reason as well as it truly ended in my heart. 

For Eren, I think his determination has always been my favorite, even when i first started watching. From the first shots with him as a helpless 12 year old, to the final declaration he gives about saving his people and home of paradis, the way he would and does anything to save his friends and home is beautiful, though the entire “destroy the 80% of the world” shit is very :// dude lol

With Armin, I will say his smarts and how outside-the-box he is when it comes to making plans and trying to solve problems is my favorite part of him. I know a lot of people had issues with him vs erwin but dude,, even erwin had times where was like “lol idk what to do. Any ideas armin??” so. Also him making a plan to sacrifice himself without any hesitation so eren can get the upper hand with bertolt while erwin was riding towards his own death was really heart wrenching to me i absolutely love that episode. 

Since I added stranger things characters, here is why i love them briefly bc i do be tired lol

Steve- cmon. His redemption arc was just as great as, if not better than, zukos like??? He didn’t have to do anything to help everyone out but he does bc he cares :(( also him being jealous of eddie dhkjfslkfjdskl ALSO ALSO him and robin talking about boobs was so fucking great lmao. i love their friendship sm

Eddie- dudes just a silly metal nerd i cant not love him???? I love any man that can make me giggle for hours and eddie accomplished that almost immediately

ok here's an idea i've been thinking abt for weeks:

how about an al x reader oneshot where they hug each other for the first time after al got his body back?? reader's been a childhood friend to the elrics and winry and knew about their situation; they're also the kind of person who loves hugs/ giving people hugs and was very sad that al couldn't feel anything and promised to give him the biggest hug once he gets his body back. so when the brothers are finally coming back home, reader sees al from the distance and runs to him and hugs him (basically keeping their promise)

just a fluffy heartwarming reunion and these two being happy to finally feel each other's embrace after so long 🥺🥺

Combining these two because it was easier for me. also AHH I got one done TT-TT I hope you enjoy it c: Retweets are appreciated ♥️

Alphonse Elric x Reader

Ever since you could remember, you’ve shown affection and appreciation via hugs. it didn't matter if it was your parents, teachers, friends, anyone. It’s just who you are and it is a part of you that makes you so special. 

When your family moved to Resembool to live the farm lifestyle when you were around 4, Edward, Alphonse and Winry became your best friends, if not, a second family. You could’ve easily been mistaken as a Rockbell given the fact that you stayed at their house more than your own, especially when your parents left the town to sell sheep wool. 

You were there the night Al came to the house, soul now bound to the suit of armor, carrying a severely wounded Ed. Though you didn’t know much about alchemy or automail, you still rushed to help Winry and Pinako get Ed bandaged and cleaned up, every so often looking over to see Al. His now armored body sat still on the floor, you could've forgotten he was there if he didn’t react to the frantic words about Ed’s condition. 

Then when he started to somewhat explain what happened, your heart desperately ached for him, and learning he could no longer feel anyones warmth, or even eat or sleep. It hurt you to your core that even if you tried to comfort him with a hug, it wouldn't affect him like it would with Edward.

When they briefly came back after Ed became a state alchemist, you, Winry, and Pinako accompanied them when they went to burn down their home. The warmth of the flames wrapped around you, the crackling reminded you of having campfires with the boys and Winry when you all were younger. Though, this time, it only symbolized the boy’s determination to get their bodies back.

 Looking at Winry, you couldn’t help but notice tears have begun streaming down her cheeks, and dripping off of her chin. Later on she would tell you that she cried because Ed refused to, and you couldn’t help but sadly smile at the statement. That was always a quality of his that annoyed her, he had to be strong for Al, and refused to lean on others for support. Before they could leave into the midnight sky, you gathered your thoughts, and turned to them, 

“Alphonse..” you choked out. Pinako and Winry have already begun walking back to their house. “Oh uh, yeah?” He stuttered, stumbling a bit as he turned to face you. His now echoing voice carried into the night. Smiling sadly, you walked a bit closer to him and took his (newly acquired) hands. 

“I promise you, when you two come back, with your bodies, I will be here to give you the biggest hug I physically can.” Now you’ve let the tears fall down your cheeks, but not letting them get in the way of the smile you give to Al. Instead of saying anything, Alphonse tightened his grip on your hands, both silently acknowledging your promise and avoiding having to speak and expose his wavering voice.  

Over the next six years, you would periodically see them when they came back for maintenance, Winry giving you a heads up each and every time and you never failed to talk to Al when Ed was getting his automail fixed up. He rarely explained the situations, going into minor details about Nina and Maes’ deaths, their discoveries about the philosopher's stone, even telling you about the ordeal he went through with Barry the Chopper and how Winry had to set him straight.

You also made sure to never fail sending Ed off with a hug (if he allowed you to at the moment) and reminding Al of your promise. He even once showed you a page in his notebook dedicated to the amount of times you reminded him, saying you owe that many hugs. Winry didn’t hesitate to point out your reddening face. 

Though you did wish to join them sometimes, both he and Ed warned you that it was too dangerous, and that they couldn’t rope you into their messes. You and Winry understood enough to take their advice and hang back, especially after Winry got caught in the middle of it a few times with Scar and the homunculi when she’d go to Ed to repair his automail, you were just thankful to hear that in the end, her and the boys were alright. 

Now, back to the present. You are currently finishing up some work for your parents at your place. Edward and Alphonse are supposed to be coming to the Rockbells today, and just as you and Winry decide to throw a small welcome home party, that's when your parents called and asked you to rush home quickly to take notes of some business.  

Walking up the hill, the Rockbell residence starts to come into view, and you see Winry stand up and dust herself off. Rolling your eyes, you call out to her. “Winry, I seriously leave for a few minutes and have to come back to–” at the sound of your voice, two additional heads that you only now noticed turned to look back at you. And one of them is the reason you lost your train of thought. 

“Hey Y/N! You miss us?!” Hearing Ed's voice only brings your attention to the Elric you’ve been dying to see again for the entirety of your teenage years. The last thing on your mind is to respond to Ed, the only thoughts currently racing through your head are the facts that Al is physically here, in his body. He’s home, and you're only maybe one hundred feet away from the promises you’ve sworn to keep for many many years. 

“Alphonse!” If you were carrying anything, you would have surely dropped it before starting your race to him. You were so dead set on getting to Al, you also managed to miss Ed’s “Wow, missed you too.” comment. After what had seemed like a lifetime, you are finally able to wrap your arms tight around him, head on his shoulder and his on yours, and he sighs as a way of saying he’s happy to finally receive your warmth again. Happy that you never broke your original promise. You’re not surprised that he hugs you back tighter than anyone has hugged you back in a long while. 

“Geez, after all we went through, can you please not break him?” Pulling away from Al, you quickly wiped away your stray tears, laughing at Winry butting in and pulling the two of them away from the most anticipated reunion between the four of you. Hearing his laughter die down as well, you faced Alphonse once more. 

“I’m so happy you’re home. I knew you two could do it.” You once again take his hand in yours, but instead of the cold, gloved metal hand you’ve grown used to holding, it is his, warm and detailed with veins and creases, his lunulas covered by the cuticles. You can’t help but smile, overjoyed with the fact that he’s back. “With the way you’re studying me, I’d think you’re more happy about this than I am.” He jokes, but not pulling his hand away. “Says the one that kept track of how many hugs I owe, sounds like we’re both equally happy, hm?” 

“Oh yeah, that reminds me!” Pulling out his notebook, you let out a laugh, followed by an ‘oh my god, I can’t believe you.’ “You owe a total of 38 now.” And with that, he smiles. “C’mon,” He says, taking your hand this time. “I also have an entire list of foods I’ve wanted to try over the years!”
