I recently watched the movie after being recommended by a friend. The film is based on one of the most socially relevant topic in today's world. The story line of the movie is about a girl being raped and murdered and an innocent, fun young boy named Arjun (played by Adarsh) is put behind the bars for a crime he didn't commit. The film begins by introducing Arjun to the audience as a family devoted boy and a loving mentor to his students whom he teaches music for free. Arjun's character portrays about his warm heartedness and nature as a kind boy. Later in the movie, he falls in love with an attractive young woman, Amoolya (played by Chitra Shukla) and makes alot of efforts to introduce Amoolya to his family. But things don't go as planned for him. His life takes a deep turnaround when he gets convicted and sentenced for life imprisonment for rape and murder of a young girl only for the reason that he was present at the same location when the incident occurred.
The plot of the movie changes when after 5 years of being convicted for a crime he didn't commit he finds a way out with the help of a saviour. The movie continues with a courtroom drama and how an innocent man faces the society while the real person who committed the crime roams around freely.
The film not only displays the difficulties and injustices faced by women on daily basis but also promotes the agenda of women empowerment. In the film, it is also shown how Amoolya becomes a lawyer and works hard to bring the culprit to justice. The intention of the movie is to draw attention towards the heinous incidents that women face in today's world. It is shown how at an era where we talk about women's equal rights and opportunities they are still treated as objects and violated of their honour in every possible way. They are raped and murdered by thugs and influential people who with the help of money and fame roam around freely while an innocent man faces the charges and the victim gets no justice.
The movie is a fight against the system and society which doesn't support the victims and their families after such incidents have happened. The film depicts how even the legal system of the country is influenced by power and money. It brilliantly handles and depicts power dynamics that run the society.
One more thing that I absolutely loved about the movie was how the hero of the film was a female and is not a typically male driven movie. The film shows different females who have played major roles in bringing justice to the victim. Amoolya, being the main character of the plot, is not only shown as a love interest of Arjun but also an independent, intelligent and passionate woman who becomes a lawyer to help Arjun come out of jail and works hard to put the real culprit behind the bars.
The film is a great example of a realistic cinematic experience that depicts today's world and challenges faced by women. It not only shows the problems faced by women but also gives them the strength they need to face such challenging in future. Overall it was a mesmerising and hypnotic experience and I would highly encourage everyone to watch this another blockbuster hit by the telugu industry that has the audience going crazy. Go see it at the theatre nearest to you!!
