After we lost the three kitties last year, Fury's being especially hard bc so unexpected, the house felt unbalanced only having DK and Little Miss. LM was very depressed. Kon was her soulmate and fury was her best buddy and she lost both within six months of eachother. She wasn't eating as much and was clingier than normal which I didn't think possible. But she also just didn't want to interact. Dk was just confused and sad bc LM didn't want to play with him and he had no one else to torment.

We decided to go look at a local rescue. There were a few cats I liked on the website and I esp wanted to meet a torti girl and a void boi. (Was also hoping for the 14yo senior gal or the one eyed bb tbh lol)

We met the first couple and just didn't click. Was told the other two had found homes so yay! And then we met the other forty cats there. And at the end we met Cher.

I had seen Chers picture online and she looked a bit goofy. She was said to be 4yo which was ideally the age we were looking for. She was so tiny, 7lbs. And when I pet her she did happy little tippy tap dance. I knew she'd been there for a while and they said that she had been out with all the other cats at some point and got along with everyone. Perfect. We brought her home. This was like 3/4pm on a Friday and I had work that night. Called to make a vet appt, which would be for I believe the Tuesday? Anyways.

She was at home right away.

This was within the hour of her being with us. She slept with me. She was so stinky. (Shelter stink, it took forever for her to get it out) look how happy. And the other two were intrigued. Kon was the gentlest bestest chillest cat to cat and would love EVERYONE. He must have taught DK that bc he took to her right away. Lm was a bit slower but we never had any issues or bad fights. I was so impressed.

Well turns out she's actually 6-9yo. Has a bunch of health issues LOL including a wonky hip/leg issue that makes her walk like she has CH (wobble cat syndrome) but she's the sweetest girl. And she's developed a massive attitude. She's become so spoiled in the last few months. We love her so much

I just wanted to share. We miss all our kitties very much, and sometimes still call out for one of them or go looking and random things makes us think about them, but having a new baby has been really nice. Doesn't erase the pain but it helps ease it a bit.

Also, picking a new name took forever. Literally two months. We finally picked Sydney, bc she loves to Scream at us.

Welcome home Sydney.

I had to take a break from this last fall after losing the best void boy Fury unexpectedly. I think it'll be a nice memory when it's done though.

My best void boi Fury crossed the Rainbow Bridge last week, sept 27.

We knew it was coming but he suddenly took a turn for the worst so we had to get him in quickly. It still feels so surreal. I don't have a lil bathroom buddy anymore. I don't get to hear his little happy chirps and cuddle him as he purrs while I try to sleep. I don't have anyone to play tag with now.

He was only 12 years old and we were actually about to celebrate his adoptoversary (Oct 4). He caused us so many issues in the last 12 years haha, starting out within the first week we got him to develop a neurological issue and an infection and scare the crap out of us. He was the smartest and dumbest cat I've ever met. So sneaky and tricky but would also run head first into a staircase. All his teeth issues. Then a heart murmur. Then the lung cancer.

I'm glad I asked about an X-ray for the asthma so we at least found the tumor so it wasn't a complete shock. But man.

Anyways. Little Miss and DK are way more vocal this week and I'm worried LM will get more depressed. Fury was her BFF. We lost Kon in Feb and he was her soulmate so losing her "other person" I'm keeping an eye on her.

Guys. I am a Graveyard worker. I have been for uhhhh..: like seven years now? Exclusive Tues-sun, and then this week because of personal reason for my coworker I've had to do two 7am-3pm shifts and my world is completely flipped. There's so many people??? And sunlight???? My body is so upset with me and I remember why I love nights. Anyways just needed to rant bc I'm so lost LOL

Blanket for Niko: a love story

she loves crochet, she loves to be swaddled like a baby, she loves to claim everything i make for herself so now i made something just for her that's hers and no one else's. And it's not even her birthday yet...

the pattern is the Lotus Blanket from here with modifications made to be worked in a gradient and to make it lotus shaped instead of square. it's made from a 1000m gradient cake on a 3mm hook. I worked on it over 26 days, no estimate for the hours lol

the cat is Nikodemus she's almost 4 years old and the most precious little baby girl

My two new projects. The ghost kitty was under 2$ and it's smallish and so cute. And the spooky moon kitties have been taunting me for a while. All the work I did today, Aug 16.
