The world exists in such a baffling state of simultaneous sex-aversion and sex-hegemony. Every social platform on the internet is trying to banish sex workers to the shadow realm but I can't post a tweet without at least two bots replying P U S S Y I N B I O. People are self-censoring sex to seggs and $3× but every other ad you see is still filled with half-naked women. Rightwingers want queer people arrested for so much as existing in the same postal code as a child and are also drumming up a moral panic about how teenage boys aren't getting laid enough. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Every time I see a pro-Israel post in the wild, I take somewhere between $200 - $1k out of my trust and donate it directly to a Palestinian family or place a large order to a pro-Palestine business. Just letting people who condone genocide know :)
"""Condone genocide""" and it's just me hoping for the hostages to be brought back home & bitching about how this site's """Activitism""" is LITERALLY just going after random Jews online & harassing them & doing borderline, oftentimes straight-up Nazi shit like cheering terrorist organizations who outright say that they want to kill all Jews in the world.
And the worst part is that this isn't the only example of antisemitism & general clown shit that I can find present in the movement, either. Cheering on a girl's sister being murdered at the Nova festival & hoping she suffered more as she died.
Saying that the only place Jews are indigenous to is Hell.
Holocaust inversion & denial.
Getting salty at a Jewish celebrity (PINK) for celebrating Hanukkah
Calling Tara Strong's cousins """settlers""" & calling her a colonial apologist while October 7th was STILL GOING?
Getting mad at Mike Pollock for making a tribute to the hostages
Just flat-out reinventing Nazi race theory
Going into a whole tirade about how anti-zionism isn't antisemitism & then at the end of it proceeding to call the Jewish person they're talking to a k*ke
Peddling conspiracy theories
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wearing the symbols of terrorists (Hezbollah, Hamas) & raising their flags
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Doing the Nazi salute & praising the leader of Iran (who has oppressed the people of Iran for the last 4 decades)
Calling to "Globalize the Intifada" (which were bus bombings, stabbings & shootings that killed 1000s of Israelis)
Tumblr media
Literal callbacks to Hitler's final solution + praising Al-Qassam (Hamas military wing which carried out the Oct 7 massacre at Nova)
Tumblr media
Tearing out tributes to the hostages & calling it propaganda
Tumblr media
I don't even know how to describe this last one
You got some nerve insinuating that I'm a genocide supporter when THAT'S the sort of bottom feeders you've got hanging out in your movement.
Anyways, grow the fuck up & stop harassing randos online because they said that hurting Jews is bad.

fun funeral facts
embalming, the process of chemically preserving a corpse, is typically not required by law. unless you need to transport the body long-distance or postpone the burial, it’s 100% a vanity thing.
a body still rots in air-tight conditions. so “protective” or “sealed” caskets are basically a scam, and anything fancy like metal is a waste of money.
want a beautiful casket for a viewing, but think burning or burying an expensive piece of hardwood is a waste of money and trees? rentals exist.
you don’t need a coffin for cremation. the minimum requirement is that the body be in a “cremation container,” which is a simple cardboard box.
home funerals are an option. you don’t need to hand the body over to a funeral home, and you can keep their involvement to a minimum.
natural burial sites exist. you can have your unembalmed body straight up thrown in the dirt to be tree food, if you want.
there are a lot of funeral homes that will prey on your ignorance and vulnerability in order to get as much money out of you as possible. they may imply optional certain services are legally mandatory, steer you away from cheaper options, charge additional costs for what’s supposed to be all-inclusive services, etc.
one person’s death is another person’s profit. know your rights, do your research, and apply the same scrutiny you would to any other business.

This is the second time in my voting history that I’ve participated in flipping a red seat in Alabama for Democrats (the previous time being my beloved Doug Jones) so it’s always funny to see people turn around and say voting doesn’t matter when I’ve seen it twice in the past ten years flip seats in what is supposed to be safe Republican country. Republicans are digging their own grave with their radicalization and it is making them lose (and with your help we can make them lose harder). Vote.

I rly hate the Satanic Panic & the moral panic surrounding violence in video games in the 90s, coz it's now impossible to talk about the social implications of violent video games in a realistic sense.
No, violence in video games does not create serial killers in the way most people imagine it would.
However, it's very important to notice how after 9/11, a lot of violent video games pivoted their content from silly gratuitous cartoon gore to more realistic military shooters set in the Levant from a US American lens. It's also important to notice the connection of these games & their toxic online multi-player voice chats to Gamer Gate in 2014.
It's obviously not as black & white as it was presented in the 80s & 90s, I dont think everyone who played early Call of Duty games is a white supremacist who wants to join the military to kill people in the middle east, but I think it's dangerous to pretend like video games or any media can't have an impact on the way people think about violence.
I think what makes all the difference here is how that violence is portrayed, what the message behind it is, what the motives are behind the people who crafted that message, who the victims of that violence are, how they are portrayed & the greater cultural context that surrounds it.

if you're able, consider giving a few bucks to National Bail Out this weekend for their yearly Free Black Mamas campaign, in which they post bail for Black mothers and caregivers leading up to and on mother's day. from their website:
Every day, tens of thousands of people languish in jail simply because they cannot afford bail. In addition to the $25 billion wasted on incarcerating people convicted of no crime, pretrial incarceration has catastrophic impacts on families and communities. Black people are incarcerated at nearly five times the rate of white people and, once arrested, are twice as likely to be caged before trial. Our LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming families are targeted and caged at even more alarming rates, and once in jail, they are significantly more likely to be sexually and physically abused. Many of the Mamas and caregivers we bail out end up in cages because the state has failed to provide housing, employment opportunities, and health care. Most people are in cages because they are poor, Black, and in a time of crisis, whether it is a mental health crisis, an addiction crisis, an economic crisis, or an accumulation of crises. Instead of treating people with dignity and addressing the underlying cause of the crisis, our government responds to Black people in crisis by criminalizing and incarcerating us.
according to one of their fundraising emails, they've bailed out 95 mothers and caregivers as of this morning, in AL, AR, CA, FL, GA, MD, MI, MO, NY, NC, OK, PA, and TX. let's help keep it going.

Obviously boycott Eurovision, but glad to read elsewhere it’s descended into chaos.
Netherlands suspended from rehearsals, organisers panicking, audience booing drowning out the singer from Israel, Italian singer apparently singing ‘imagine’ outside the venue in true cringe fashion.

Protesters occupying a camp established by a First Nation in northern Alberta to defy drilling operations on its traditional lands have been ordered to vacate.  The camp — a tipi and tents flanked by rows of trucks lining the road 75 kilometres east of Peace River, Alta. — is Woodland Cree First Nation's latest effort to oppose Obsidian Energy's expansion plans. The camp is the latest development in an increasingly tense conflict between Woodland Cree and Obsidian after the operator was blamed for a string of earthquakes in the region. The First Nation says it is owed meaningful consultation and final authority over what industrial development occurs on its traditional lands. Company officials say it has consulted with the WCFN and the Indigenous community has no such veto rights.

I'm in awe of how we ran historical revisionism on the civil rights movement so bad that people truly believe it was quiet self-sacrifcial non-disruptive christ-like activism that forced progress and not — like — the incredible economic pressure of boycotts and outbreaks of illegal civil disobedience
Yapping to the choir but eughhh it burns me up girl effective protests have to be loud and inconvenient for change to happen because silent cries die in the dark that's the entire pointtt

Tens of thousands of protestors in Tel Aviv are demanding that Netanyahu stop the invasion of Rafah and accept the hostage exchange deal.
Etan Nechin is a conscientious objector who refused to serve Israel as a soldier.
Tarek Baé ia a German journalist.
Ben Phillips is the Communications Director at UNAIDS.
(Putting this in drafts until I can verify whether allowing Gazans to leave Rafah is part of the deal.)

(It is, and also compensation/a reconstruction plan for Gaza over the next 3-5 years.)
But Israel is proceeding with the invasion of Rafah anyway.

The "radical leftists" on this site who talk constantly about the importance of solidarity and kindness and compassion and then immediately tell anyone who disagrees with them to kill themselves are going to be devastated when they learn how much of actual union organizing involves talking to people whose politics you find incredibly repugnant and meeting them where they're at in order to find common ground
