You can't title your story "Surrendering to my enemy's cold embrace" and put this as the cover only for it to be a metaphor.
Tumblr media
I find a yuri manhwa with what looks to be a wolf-, dog- or foxgirl getting wrapped up and strangled in a snake lady's tail on the cover. I read some of it. It's a metaphor for their relationship dynamic and not literal.

You just need to learn to enjoy fighting Qui'lon, Avatar of the Mahasattva. :))))
I don't know who that is, because they lock every ending except the first two behind the worst node in all of Integrated Strategies that should've been discontinued after IS3 where it actually served a purpose, that being to trade away your cursed collectibles to clueless Iberians. Lost & Found is garbage in IS4 and even worse in IS5. I'm not unlocking the node only for it to show up in my node refreshes. I'll see these supposed other bossfights in Deep Investigations, which I still have hopes for being good because they were amazing in IS4.
I know that this is an unreasonable position to take but I'm way too high up on this hill at this point to leave it.

A problem with gacha games and game balance is that if they want to nerf a class of units or a unit in particular they can only do it through stage and enemy design to make them worse in the current environment. At least, people assume that this happens at times which I sometimes find dubious but it doesn't feel unreasonable. A while ago there was Clip Cliff who refreshes his special move's cooldown on kill, which might make you think that this is supposed to punish throwing Executors at him to bait his move and deal easy to him. Sure, seems reasonable. But whenever this is done, I just wonder why I should suffer for the sins of a branch or operator I never even used. I too throw bodies at enemies, but I don't use Executors for it, I just stuff half my squad full of operators with normal redeployment times to throw at the problem when I pursue this strategy, which is enough of a handicap already. It would be so much better if, in the case of Executors being a problem, they could just put a +2 on their cost and redeployment time and that's that. Or delete Ch'otgun from the game instead of punishing the entire branch with the limpest module I've ever seen. Or take away two of Wiš'adel's guns instead of making an event that consists entirely of enemies that are either invisible or have 90% damage reduction and can't reasonably be blocked most of the time.

I'm having a run of IS5 that is akin to a sickly animal that I'm watching, knowing it will perish soon and I'm guiding it along with ambivalence.
On an unrelated note, IS5 is gradually turning into my least favourite IS both due to reasons entirely my fault (I will never unlock the Lost & Found node, it has negative value. It is a bad.) and because it feels pretty samey a lot (which is also my fault because I'm always going to beat up Fremont, since the Ending 2 fight is rancid and those are the only two endings).
Oh also because I just stepped onto the midboss node on F3 and Congestion popped up, reducing my deployment limit from the default 6 (comfortable) to 3 (I want to quit).

I never really understood how you're supposed to determine the room you strike the wedges in. I know that you're supposed to count the distance of the compass to the field guardian room and then do the same thing on the backside field to find it and I also know about the "arranging the field in a square and wrapping rooms around that stick out", I quote from page 19 of the manual:
"Each fields in the ruins has 20 screens. Every side of each screens adjoins next screen horizontal and vertically. Shape of each fields is complicated. However, it can be arranged rectangle-shaped of 4 x 5 squares. If you keep this in mind, you will be easy to understand the structure of the field."
There's also a graphic that for the longest time confused me more than it helped.
For the longest time, I'd just grab the Mantra and then hop through the backside field chanting it until I found the right room. This way, I eventually just kinda memorized most of them but I did eventually kinda figure out how it's supposed to work.
The key is in how confused I was (still am) by the "wrapping around".
Tumblr media
As an example, here are the two paired fields "Spring in the Sky" (front) and "Tower of the Goddess" (back) coloured in blood magenta and its inverted green. Each field's compass is marked as a red circle and Spring in the Sky's field guardian room with a blue circle.
I also overlaid a 4 x 5 rectangle onto the Spring in the Sky map. I picked these two because they're both very vertical, so they stick out of the rectangle a lot. So what you do is, you count the rooms as tiles within the 4 x 5 and once you leave it, you start counting from 1 again. So instead of the field wrapping around, which to me evokes a kind of three dimensional approach, you just take anything that sticks out, make a second 4 x 5 to contain it and when it comes to counting the distance from the compass to the field guardian room, you overlay however many 4 x 5s you wound up with. So doing this, we imagine a second 4 x 5 with letters marking the Y-axis and numbers marking the X-axis, starting on the bottom half of the Spring in the Sky, within which the compass room is A-3. In the original 4 x 5 the FG room is B-3. Putting A-3 and B-3 onto the same 4 x 5 rectangle, puts the FG room one room below the compass room. Now we track this over to the Tower of the Goddess map where the compass room comes out as C-3 with this method, from where we move one room down to D-3 in the initial 4 x 5 and this does actually give us the room where we're supposed to strike the wedge in. Sometimes, counting the steps will take you out of the 4 x 5 on the backside field, at which point you just "wrap around" your steps and keep counting. This happens with Gate of Guidance and Gate of Illusion for example, where you have to take two steps left from the compass to the wedge room, which takes you out of bounds in the backdoor map but works out if you just don't worry about it. And this works for every field. It's incredible.
Don't ask me how it works for Twin Labyrinths though.
Fun fact: In the original La Mulana you chanted the mantras by typing them out on your keyboard, so if you were just guessing the room you better made sure not to have a typo in your chant because there no audio or visual output for completing one, aside from the wedge being struck if you did the correct chant in the correct room. Remake1 has my favourite mantra chanting style cause you can just spam it so quickly, it has a very satisfying sound and Lemeza doesn't slow down when landing from using an item - he can just jump again right away, as opposed to his daughter who just pauses to finish holding up her used item so with her it's nowhere near as entertaining to jump around spamming these.

In Fire Emblem Engage when Zefia gave us that rock to travel to the past to deal with that rock at the bottom of the lake (which we couldn't reach in the present on account of it being at the bottom of the lake but it isn't in the past) so she could have her deathbed redemption why did we trust her and why didn't we just use Corrin. That rock could've been a Rock That Kills The Divine Dragon for all we know. Also Emblem Corrin was right there and has been using Dragon Vein the entire time without needing a powerspot so just let her drain the lake. This really didn't need to be a timetravel moment. It was a really cool timetravel moment but we didn't need to timetravel over a rock being at the bottom of a lake. Between all these mystical powers we were carrying around in our forces surely at least one of them (Emblem Corrin) would've been good enough to handle the issue of a rock being at the bottom of a lake. They could've made a beach episode out of it.
