This year has been quite trying, but I'm happy that I discovered a love of making these horse animations in 2023.

People tend to forget that we are also animals. We are not separate from nature, we are just as much a part of it as the birds that nest outside our windows.
Take some time today to focus on your place in the natural ecosystem around you. Give an offering to the local nature spirits if you can

Ready
Last time I used this blog was last October. I said that setting consistent practices in place was very important.
I didn't even meaningfully celebrate Samhain that month.
Sometimes we can want something, so badly. We know it's what's right for us and make promises and set expectations. But that doesn't make us ready to pursue it.
I've been reading and connecting and learning more recently, and I think I'm ready to try again. So here's my next 'journal'. I'm hoping to get a physical one soon to better record all my practices, in a more personal way, but I'll still use this as a place to share the learning experience.
To be clear: I am no expert. I am doing my best to learn from authentic sources and lived experience. I am sharing that learning experience, not definitive knowledge.
Anyway, I think I'm ready now.

praying
I've been wanting to begin more of a daily practice, so I set up a small altar space at the window sill by my bed. I'm letting myself start small.
Every morning and/or night, whichever I can make, I will sit nearby it with my legs folded under me and give a small prayer. Either of devotion, to nature or the gods or my ancestors or the spirits around me, or asking for something such as guidance. I hold my pendulum in one hand and athame in the other. Last night, I also set out a small jar of water to charge under the full moon during this time.
I am also trying to work with the three cauldrons during this time, to set them with the right intent for that day or the next.
This process takes only a few minutes.
Consistency is the first and most important habit to set.
