the other night i dreamt i was in the shower and felt compelled to move my caddy to the side. in doing so, i revealed a doorway-sized opening to a large room from which a single silverfish and a millipede crawled out of the corner and away from me. it was dark but not pitch. the room was barn-like. it had a dirt floor, an antique vanity, and several chairs -- plus some other items i wasn't particularly focused on making out. i remember being angry not knowing of its existence sooner -- and being so sure that something was hiding from me in there.

i never entered past the doorway.
