been going back and forth on this, because you could argue hale ought to be mark, or at least that FUTURE ought to be on hale's innie earpiece/chip. SAYER would make a perfect reghabi equivalent. But the idea of SAYER and OCEAN being severed counterparts feels really integral to the whole thing to me (but also raises the question: why is Lumon knowingly wiping their AI)

final try...
these implant jacks were mentioned once but have so much potential... thought it would be funny if they connected like modern instrument 1/4" cables. the compressible bits flex slightly to get the top to seat against an access panel at the back of the neck.
it's not mentioned in the sketches, but as implied by the episode, the jack is designed to link up electrically to a resident's neural implant. i like to think they were developed before SAYER had full broadcast capability, maybe for initial sandbox testing or just plain pre-AI comms. they keep a few around in case SAYER's ever offline for a bit or loses access to a tower a la season 3.
