Also, would like to say, I like how they don’t make it a “happy ever after” ending and how it’s stated that everything that has happened did in fact impact the groups mental health and actions. And so glad that Sir Ector didn’t die!! I was stressed for him during that final fight tbh. And we beat the system fucker!! Bye bye bitch 👋👋. I’m looking forward to seeing more about how they exist after the war and how their relationships progress :) (and also how they save Garuel. Pls. I need him back 🥺).

‼️ Chapter 181 Spoilers for I Will Fulfill The Role of the Villain ‼️

It’s over already :0 . Honestly though, that was a pretty decent ending, but I do wish I got to see more of them. I hope that down the line, the author will announce some side stories :/. Leo remained my favourite character until the end, with Fael a close second. Then MC of course, and Theo. I’m gonna write a review on this later since I’ve completed it but for now!!! Thoughts on these final few chapters:

Honestly, while I said I was on the fence about Luke reenlisting, I’m happy that he did. He is so much more mentally okay than he was at the beginning of the novel, and I get my badass special forces commander back 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️. I love how the perception of Luke has changed so much and that people actually see him for who he is now. Also!!! His relationship with Theo >>>> the ml of this novel is such a green flag, and their relationship is so cute. The final chapter as a whole felt like it was a very satisfying conclusion to their journey tbh.

Another thing!! I’m so glad we got to find out more about the emperor. I was honestly in the fence about liking him or not throughout the whole novel, but with that chapter about his motivations and everything, I can confidently say I like his character. And it made the conclusion of the villain feel less anticlimactic too since in the end, it’s highlighted that there’s a greater evil that the emperor plans to use him as a pawn to target. Can’t say the emperor doesn’t love his citizens when he’s going this far to get revenge for those that were unfairly experimented on and brutally killed by those psychopath researchers.

And Roena! Another character I was meh about but grew to love in the final chapters!! Such a badass honestly 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️. Joined the military to prove her family wrong and succeeded. I’m glad that she helped Luke with his decision on whether to rejoin the army or not. And that we got to see more of her at the end.

Overall, I loved this novel. It’s so rare to see a strong MC who can fight on equal grounds with the ML, and it was cool that even when he did get nerfed (sort of) by his injury, it didn’t stop him from being badass and one of the major figures in resolving an international incident and saving the kingdom. Loved the dynamic between the main couple, and the progression of their characters as a whole too. Please, go read this one, I definitely recommend it.

(Though I do wish we got to see Theo’s parents meeting Luke).

I- Dion- 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 why the fuck did that execution have to be so fucking sad?! I’m crying!!! Like- djdhskhdkshemdhdkdj 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. I’m just,,, happy he got solace at the end there. But if he’d gotten it sooner!!! Than none of this shit would have ever happened!!! The miscommunication is fucking killing me 🥲. The villains of this novel are written surprising well. (All I’m getting out of this rn is how much I hate the deceased Emperor. Literally everything stems from his stupid actions).

Oh! So that’s why it was considered a curse :0 because of the fucking mass genocide that happened for generations. Wow. And to think they held back from destroying the world when they were fully cable of doing so even after being used and abused like that- I have a fair bit of respect for those ancient duel bloodlines. (Also wtf that was way more terrible than I ever expected).

And Ha-Jin and Yeon are safe :D now we just have to deal with the aftermath.

Luke is healed!!!! And it didn’t have any terrible side effects 🎉🎉🎉 they’re back in their own kingdom now and Miles finally got punished for framing Luke 😌 this novel has quickly sky rocketed to one of my favourites with this last couple of chapters tbh. But- I didn’t get left on another cliff hanger- just,,, less stressful this time. Like-

Cmon,,, I wanna know what it is dlhdkdgdkdshks. I wonder if it has to do with Theo’s parents or the military or something 🤔 at first I really hated the idea of Luke going back to the military, but now that they no longer misunderstand him, I’m not as against the idea. I’m looking forward to seeing what these two have in store for them in the future :)

Although I will admit, the villain getting caught and healing Luke and the others was a bit anticlimactic- but at the same time, I can see why he would do it. He became a villain because of how twisted his mentality became from being an experiment, but in the end he didn’t wish to become a monster like the experimenters he killed, so when Theo said he was basically just like them, bro kinda broke mentally. Kinda makes me feel bad for the guy, even if he is a psychopath of experimented on war orphans. After that flashback to his youth a couple of chapters ago, it’s kinda easy to see him making this decision tbh.

I’m so glad 😭😭 thank god Garuel is okay. His mental break down may have had me on the verge of crying, and I really want to give him a hug because he doesn’t deserve any of the bullshit he”s going through. It’s good that Cadel was there to reassure him and help him. Honestly though, Garuel is one of my favourite’s, and MC knows exactly how shitty it is to struggle with your identity and humanity so it’s good that he’s able to help him. (Also,,, if I remember correctly, the first time MC kissed Garuel in the story was to calm himself down from an identity crisis and mental breakdown, so this has come a full 360).
