대한독립 만세! 🙌🏻 Today is Gwangbokjeol (광복절) - National Liberation Day of Korea 🇰🇷 The holiday is celebrated in both South and North Korea and commemorates Victory over Japan Day, when at the end of World War II, the U.S. and Soviet forces helped end 35 years of Japanese occupation and colonial rule of Korea that lasted from 1910-1945. The holiday is called 광복절 - Independence Day in South Korea, but in North Korea, it’s known as 조국해방의 날, which means “Liberation of the Motherland Day”. 📍 Cheonan, South Korea 🇰🇷 __________________________________________ #광복절 #815 #31운동 #대한독립만세 #독립운동 #태극기 @travelandleisureasia @koreatraveleasy @koreabyme.official @2021_adventure_korea (at Cheonan, Korea) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSlRgI-LFcr/?utm_medium=tumblr

The Kingdom of Bhutan is one of very few countries that are still considered fairly untraveled by foreign visitors. In fact, the Bhutanese government introduced strict tourism regulations involving a daily tourist fee of around $250 for anyone wanting to visit Bhutan in order to prevent mass tourism from destroying the country’s unparalleled natural wonders and deep-rooted Buddhist culture. However, all of this makes Bhutan an even more appealing travel destination and I was left speechless and yearning for more when I visited the country in October 2019. Here are 10 amazing facts about Bhutan you won’t believe.
To learn more about Bhutan, check out my Bhutan country guide and read my article about my 7-day Bhutan trip.

Jeonju is often referred to as ‘the most beautiful place in Korea’ – and I’d probably agree. When someone asks which city in Korea offers the most traditional and authentic experience, the answer most definitely is Jeonju. With a history of more than 1,000 years, including 500 years of shaping the Joseon dynasty, there is a lot to do in Jeonju Hanok Village. Jeonju is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, the first international urban slow city in the world and ranks third in Asia as best city of culture according to Lonely Planet. All of this makes Jeonju a must-visit when in Korea.
Here are the 30 best things to do in Jeonju Hanok Village.

While people generally try to avoid international franchises when they are abroad in order to try something they don’t get back home, some international franchises actually have things on the menu that you can’t find back home. One example is Baskin Robbins in Korea. The American ice-cream franchise has more than 8,000 stores in 50 countries worldwide – and many of them have unique flavors that aren’t sold elsewhere!

HAPPY 6 YEARS IN KOREA TO ME 😍😱 On the weekend, I celebrated my 6th "Korea-versary". It's already been six years since I moved to South Korea - time really flies! There are a lot of new followers so let me tell you why I moved to South Korea in 2015 and what it is that I do here in Korea :) The short answer is, I moved to South Korea for love. I met Jeongsu (my husband) at university in San Diego in 2013. After graduating, he moved back to Korea and I moved to China. I had studied Mandarin in university (along with Business Administrations) and had lived in China for 6 months before completing my degree in California. I always planned to return to China, so I took a job in online marketing in Hunan Province in 2014. After a year of navigating through a long-distance relationship with Jeongsu and two visits to South Korea, I decided it was time to move to Korea. In my first year in Korea, I worked as an English teacher at a private kindergarten. In 2016, Jeongsu and I got married and I was able to fully transition to work in online marketing remotely from home - and have been doing that ever since! 📍 Seoul, South Korea 🇰🇷 __________________________________________ #광화문 #gwanghwamun #koreabyme #postcardsfromtheworld (at Gwanghwamun) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPQjf6lrQRs/?utm_medium=tumblr
