The TMC goons vandalised PG Kar Hospital, the emergency ward, the seminar room, everything!! They attacked junior doctors and tried to enter the hostels. Bullets were fired and tear gas bombs were thrown. These TMC hooligans hijacked a peaceful protest and vandalised the crime scene. Enough is enough; the ruling party is safeguarding the perpetrators. It is high time!! Mamata needs to go!! It's nothing but Gunda Raaj right now!

Let's talk abt the real deal over here.
I thank all the people on Tumblr who have been raising their voice against the inhumane incidents taking place ... U guys are doing the necessary and it's really good to see this.
But I want to talk about the issue here, changes in the law, isn't in our direct hands we can just spread awareness so here lemme tell u something.
PORN IS THE MAIN REASON FOR RAPE
I was thinking yesterday, what changes a small cute baby boy into this beast? Porn does that's it.
And if u are going to tell me that no, siya , it doesn't... Then I'll tell u that media propaganda works on millions everyday what made u think porn wouldn't?
There's an internet term "rule 34" which essentially means that every thing that u can think of, exists in porn. So essentially every wild fantasy, no matter how humane it is or not..exists on the internet. And people watch it, on a regular basis..
Now , the majority of viewers of pornography are unaware of the consequences...so here, lemme educate you.
WHY NOT TO WATCH PORN?
Bad for mental health, develops wrong human relationships in mind and provokes u to fantasise about them..like mother-son, father - daughter, sister - brother .
Breaks confidence when it comes to making actual relationships with females, will make u shy, unable to make eye contact.
Creates deep insecurity about manhood or insecurity about your partner, development of trust issues, no respect for the opposite gender.
Lastly, if u want to think of a BATMAN reason... Then , ideally people who earn money ( porn stars) by ruining your mental health and your sense of being by just showing u these devilish things earn way more than you. And u , a college graduate with a student loan on head , help them to earn more just by promoting these things .
If u read this till here , then think of changing yourself because trust me, no porn star will be blamed for this, and u will become a menace to the society with absolutely no idea.

There seems to be a lot of confusion among people (men ugh) about what women are actually demanding through protests and rallies and marches so I just thought that I would help clear some stuff up....
1. We are asking for SAFETY and NOT protection...there is a clear line of difference between these concepts.... safety means we get to go where we want , while wearing what we want and at what time we want to...be that in broad daylight or at night , wearing a miniskirt or a saree .....it means being able to live out our life to it's full potential without the fear of being brutally raped, assaulted or murdered... because we are equal to all men... We are just as capable as smart as efficient as all men ....we deserve safety because as HUMANS it is our birth right.....
But the extremely sad truth is that we are so far removed from a reality where we are equals because we have to live out our lives constantly in fight or flight mode....we have to rethink every little descision we make, from the clothes we wear to the routes we take to the company we are around to the transportation we take.... because we are always on guard that something might get us killed and wiped off the face of this earth
2. We demand that people stop saying 'not all men' because yes not all men are attackers but to a woman any man she comes across has the potential to be an attacker....whether it be her co worker or boss or uncle or friend or boyfriend or just a stranger....so women spend their lives always on guard and always vigilant and scared because it could be any day that we might get murdered....and this phrase is extremely counter intuitive and just plain stupid.... because all men might not brutally raped and kill a woman but all men benefit from the systemic rape and oppression of women....
And whenever the topic of women rape and assault are brought up it's always this pathetic gang of men saying "but men get raped tooo....why are you all complaining so much"....they fail to understand while men's rape cases are equally important....men dont understand that on a daily basis 86 cases of rape against women are filed and among those cases on 28 percent received a conviction (thats only 28 out of every 100 cases filed)......90 percent of rape cases don't even get filed because of systemic shaming of rape victims and maintaining of "honour" for he families of rape victims
3. It's crazy how the term "nirbhaya" is used in relation to women's rape cases ...because nirbhaya means one without fear ....but women constantly live in fear because the whole onus is always against us ....."what was she wearing ?" "Why was she sleeping alone?"....."what was she thinking ?" .....our society has normalised rape against women so much that it is a preconceived thought that men will rape because it's just in their biology.... to BRUTALLY MUTILATE AND DEFILE ANOTHER WOMAN ....men will be men ...it's on the women to protect themselves......that is why women always live in fear , just soaking in it and passing that fear on to our next generations because it is the only way we have known to survive .....
4. We do not want protection, as the inherent idea of "protecting a woman" stems from patriarchy ....it demotes us from being equal humans to mere possessions of men...and at its core women will only receive protection when the men can see in us their mothers or daughters or sisters .... We demand that you care about women's safety not because we see are your mothers or daughters.... But because we are your EQUALS....Not just because they see us as daughters, mothers, sisters. Not because we are doctors, astronauts, athletes. Not because we’ve won awards, invented something or excelled exceptionally in our fields. But simply because we are humans. Equal humans that deserve to feel safe because in the first page of our constitution we are promised equality...that all humans are to be treated equally despite their gender...we do not ask you to see in us some family member and reward us your protection....
5. WE DEMAND JUSTICE....we demand better policing , better lit streets , more surveillance , police that do not dismiss rape or assault cases , courts that give out convictions before witnesses are threatend or silenced , fear amongst people that use rape as a method of caste or communal discrimination or use rape in some false sense of honour, in the same way that someone would fear murder...and all of this information is readily available to politicians...they know exactly what they can do to make women feel safer but they won't since it's to much work and most politicians harbour rapists and assaulters in their own party.....
Mamta Banerjee a FEMALE chief minister says that she sees these protests as a conspiracy against her own party ...and then she goes on to say that she will give the death penalty to the rapists as some form of damage control...this is all in illusion as politicians like her know that there are 2 deterrents to a crime , the length of the punishment and most importantly the chance of actually being caught after committing a crime....it doesn't matter whether you will give a death sentence to the criminals if in 99 percent of times a rape case is filed the police get paid by the accusers , the victims get threatened into withdrawing their complaint , the court dates drag on , the prosecutors are paid off , evidence is mishandled and made to disappear. So it doesn't matter whether you will give capital punishments if you never go through the process of conviction of the criminals , it is all a lie and politicians who promise the death sentence are LIARS....
To all the men reading this all we demand is to be your EQUALS ....we demand equality in justice , in safety , in pay ....we demand to live out our lives how we want because it is our fundamental right...we DEMAND TO NOT BE PUNISHED FOR SIMPLY BEING BORN A WOMAN....

If you are feeling scared to go out and protest that is OKAY...it's is extremely ok and normal and valid to feel scared, we are living through the dark ages right now....but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.....DO NOT STAY SILENT...DO NOT STAY IGNORANT OR OBLIVIOUS.....number rape cases and violence against women have gone through the roof in the last few days....Mamta Banerjee, our FEMALE chief minister is blaming the victims ....the police and all the higher authorities are oblivious to the situation.....IT HAS BEEN 10 DAYS AND WE STILL HAVE NOT FOUND OUT THE VICTIMS OF THE BRUTAL RAPE AND MURDER IF DR.MOUMITA DEBNATH ..... a woman was raped and murderer WHILE RETUNING FROM AN ALL NIGHT PROTEST .......
PLEASE DO NOT STAY SILENT....PLEASE SCREAM AND SHOUT FOR JUSTICE ..... PLEASE BE STRONG AND FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT FOR WOMEN TO EXIST SAFELY....in a state whoses biggest events are the worship of female deities like Maa Durga and Maa Kali , I cannot fathom the hypocrisy shown by our government and chief minister when they reap huge profits from these events but will stay silent and BLAME THE VICTIMS instead of taking action and providing justice.....
PLEASE SCREAM FOR YOUR RIGHTS....FOR THE RIGHTS OF YOUR MOTHER , SISTER , AUNT, DAUGHTER , CO WORKER , FRIEND to be able to exist without being worrying if they will be brutally raped and murdered for being born a woman....PLEASE DO NOT LET THE STORIES OF THESE WOMEN BE FORGOTTEN THAT IS WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WANTS....

The RG Kar Incident: DON'T CLOSE YOUR EYES TO RAPE
I’m unsure of how many non-Indians or even non-Bengalis know of this. Regardless of whether you do or do not, I would request you to reblog this post & share awareness about this. DON'T LET INJUSTICE GO UNPUNISHED.
On August 9, 2023, the body of 31-year-old post-graduate medical trainee, Dr. Moumita Debnath, was found partially naked in the seminar room of RG Kar, a hospital in Kolkata. She had just finished working a 36-hour night shift before this and, out of exhaustion, had fallen asleep while studying in the nearest seminar room on the fourth floor of the hospital.
Her family was informed beforehand that she had committed suicide, to which her mother emphasized on the fact that her daughter could never carry out such an act. On further investigation, it was found that Dr. Debnath had been raped and murdered in her sleep.
According to the Deccan Herald,
“There was bleeding from both her eyes and mouth, injuries over the face and nail. The victim was also bleeding from her private parts. She also has injuries in her belly, left leg… neck, in her right hand, ring finger and… lips. [...] “Her neck bone was also found broken. It seems that she was first strangulated and then smothered to death.”
According to Medical Dialogues,
“There were multiple hairs on the mattress and blood was soaked on the blue mattress [...]”
Later, it was found that Dr. Debnath’s glasses were shattered and her eyes were pierced with the shards of her glasses themselves.
Although one of the criminals (Sanjoy Roy) has been arrested, I am certain that there are others involved. In fact, it has been found that Sanjoy Roy, despite being an outsider, was granted access to PG Kar via personal relations with senior police officers.
The chief minister of West Bengal (despite being a woman herself) as well as members other political parties are trying, behind the scenes, to let this case fade away. Why? Oh right, it's really the privileged, upper class & upper caste sons and brothers of ministers who are behind this! No major crime can happen in a country without there being the hand of one or more influential persons, often politically involved.
Sisters and brothers, দিদিরা ও দাদারা, it would be a sin to remain silent in the face of such a crime. Our brave brothers & sisters pursuing medical practise have ceased working in their hospitals to protest against this grave crime against women, against humanity. We cannot let this injustice go unpunished! A crime against a single woman is a crime against all of us! We were born from a woman, raised by a woman—and now, when we see the honour, dignity and life of women at stake, won’t we join the andolan? Won’t we fight for what is right?
Requesting all Kolkata residents (who can) to join in at least any one of the protests mentioned below. There are provisions for elderly & disabled people. Men are invited to join us as well.
For those who want to join the Reclaim the Night protest at 11:55 p.m., please refer to this list of contact numbers (according to your region) provided by Miru Didi ( @arachneofthoughts )

Take hold of the night! We have always been told to stay wary of nighttime and the dangers, manifested in the form of cruel men, we may face. Not anymore—we must reclaim the night! How much fear is fear enough? If anyone wants to know further details and the phone numbers regarding this first event, please DM me.

Blowing the conch has always been a signal of strength. In traditional Bengali culture, it is almost always the women who blow the conch, be it in Durga Puja or the everyday pujas carried out at home. It was, and always will remain a sign of victory over evil. At 11:55 p.m., all those who cannot join the midnight assembly (the aforementioned event) can, instead, blow the conch from their own houses! Let them know you're not afraid. Let them know you've had enough. Let them know that once a revolution starts, especially one spearheaded by women, takes a long, long time to end.
[Please Note: These protests are not personally organised by me. I simply am in touch and will be attending the protest tonight.]
If you can, please do take the time to sign this petition below (courtesy of Miru Didi @arachneofthoughts) to aid our efforts:
If nothing, please do take the time to share and reblog this post wherever you can! DON'T LET RAPE GO UNPUNISHED!

She has not just been raped and murdered, she was very much tortured and brutalized like Nirbhaya. It is all over the Bengali news. I don't understand why no one is talking about this.
A 2nd year Respiratory Medicine in a well known government medical college in Kolkata, West Bengal, India is found in a semi-naked state and the college/ hospital called it a suicide.
I'm a MBBS student in second year. After reading about her, what crossed my mind is the amount of times she would have felt this fear, before this worst fear of hers eventually materialized.
"A young resident doctor was found dead in the seminar room of her medical college in Kolkata. Initial autopsy report suggests possible rape and murder."
As all are saying,
She wasn't walking the street at odd hours. She wasn't wearing clothes that were provocative. She wasn't loitering in dangerous neighbourhoods.
She was a resident doctor, looking for a place to rest in her own hospital.
She had been on duty and had gone to rest in the early hours of Friday.
The one place which was supposed to guarantee her safety failed her, miserably.
Someone comes, rapes a female pg who is merely resting in a seminar hall because there is no proper place for her to rest, brutalized her and kills her. How did NO one know? The college and police initially call it a suicide. Excuse me? It is also being said that under pressure from local politicians, the Principal and Dean attempted to alter the post-mortem report. Autopsy confirms sexual assault.
Tumblr media
What are the actions taken? One man arrested because his behavior seemed "shady". This is clearly not an act of one man. And this was a very well aware of and a well executed criminal act.
Tumblr media
Also, all this happening in WB right when the situation of bangladesh is in turmoil and news of Bangladeshi Hindus being killed and tortured, seems wrong, VERY WRONG. Happening right before NEET-PG, as 24 lakh doctors prepare to write an exam on Sunday to be resident doctors, this news has wrapped us all in agony and rage,
What are they working so hard for? Why should they aspire to be in a system that ignores their basic needs? The minimum requirement of a workplace is safety. That should be non-negotiable.
This profession demands extereme hardwork, a lot of mental strength and Physical Assaults, harassment, low paying jobs with odd working hours with intense humiliation. Now its the worst of all seeing a bright mind losing her life in the most disrespectful state of all. This should never happen to any woman.
I'd also like to question why isn't any big media house covering this news, where are all the international news channels all this time.
What are the students in other medical colleges doing? This talks about their own safety and lives. What are the medical students across the world doing? It's time for us to stand for the most basic Human right, safety.
Yesterday when my roommate, an MBBS final year intern was heading for her night posting, I feared and prayed for her to come back safely. Thinking about it, in a few years I will also have night posting, I'll also return from my hospital duties late at night. I'll also have to go through the same fear, and I'll also have to keep praying that my worst fears don't turn into reality. So many female doctors, nursing staffs, other Healthcare workers, other working women, non-working women go through the same fear, probably multiple times a day.
It is a shame to be born in such a disgusting world and society, it is shame to witness such a brutal crime, and it is a shame to live in this fear daily.
Those RAPISTS need to be hunged infront of the whole natio...if needed burned alive. People should fear the idea of raping, more than getting raped.

These are some extremely important points to which i would just like to add that...men saying comments like "i would never Rape a woman..." or "i would never hurt a woman" make blood come out of my ears....its not an achievement to say that you would never commit a heinous crime against another human being....it is the bare minimum of being considered a sane human being with basic empathy.......
making jokes about violence and rape against woman is not considered and will never be considered a normal thing to do.... yes we know that YOU might never assault a woman but you still benefit from it.....the audacity of these people to say "not all men" while benefiting from the systemic oppression of women astounds me....
these 'not all men' clowns are beyond embarrassing, women are talking about their constant agony and these clowns expect them to say 'all men are trash except my neighbour raju who is unproblematic and helped me to put my scooty's stand one day', sharam karle thoda.
it's crazy to see men act offended, going to the extent of bringing up things like abuse against men(when they laughed it off when modi sarkaar made sexual harassment against men legal), sending rape threats, groping women in a rally arranged by the women for the woman who died mercilessly tortured at the hand of a man. men in fact. what is this world?
and the few women i can visibly see still bootlicking these men, i hope the manworshipping was worth all the threat you cause to your own kind.
