England did in fact not win tonight :( congrats on spain thoo!! I'm still so proud of my lionesses and england!!:(( I know how hard they worked just to get to the finals and I've never been this proud all my life. They mean so much to me and i appreciate all their effort 🙌🏻 i believe they will win the next one (2027) in hoping leah , Viv and the others would be there by that time!! Watching tonight's game was nerve wrecking and heartbreaking for us all but after all, I'm really just so proud of england for making it this far and for making it to the finals. They may have not won the world cup but they made history by making it to the finals for the first time ever !! I love youu, my lionessesss :((( 💗💗

Had a few hours to clear my mind and put my thoughts into coherent sentences.
This World Cup has been such a ride especially watching it whilst interacting with so many of you.
Now that we’ve reached the end, I think it’s fair we say well done and commend the countries who surprised us and brought some new stars into the world of women’s football.
Colombia, Jamaica, nigeria and Zambia - these teams showed so much willpower and determination and truly deserved to make it through the groups. I hope from my heart that their federations take them seriously because they have the talent to make it to finals of big tournaments.
Morocco - I don’t think they realize the impact they have had. Safe to say that they were the biggest surprise of the tournament for me. This team made my Muslim friends beam with pride and wear their hijab to work the day after they played. A coworker who’s Muslim has a daughter who joined a kids football team.
The USWNT - we can’t not thank them for raising the bar of women’s football and displaying the level that women’s football can achieve. (Thank god Vlatko is out). Something tells me that the next time we see the USWNT, they’re going to be stronger than they were at previous World Cups.
Australia and New Zealand - they were by far the best hosts of the women’s game and for that, any Australians on here, thank you. I hope that the football league gets more recognition because the country posses such talent. They gave their all and especially Australia, I hope they hold their heads high and are proud of what they have achieved.
Japan- what a load of fun they were to watch. This Japanese side, they’re going to be the ones to watch In the next World Cup. I’m looking forward to seeing them again.
Norway - massive improvement from the euros. I hope their federation sorts themselves out because the talent that the Norwegian side posses is simply remarkable and they need a coach that can show this.
Sweden - a team that was to be reckoned with. I trust we will seem them going to gold at the Olympics and I will be cheering them on because they deserve it. Massive well done to them.
England- my heart is still heavy for them. The girls gave it their all on that pitch. Regardless of the result, I’m so incredibly proud of them. They deserved the trophy. However, they’re not done. This is not how the story ends. They’ve weathered storms and they’ll beat this one too. The next time we see them, they’re going to roar louder than ever before. I will be there.
Lastly, thank you guys for making this tournament so much more enjoyable. Interacting with you guys has been an absolute blast!

It wasn’t meant to be for us today. These girls gave this tournament blood, sweat and tears, they left everything out on the pitch every single game and they should be proud. We faced so many hurdles that the opening match against Haiti feels like it was life times ago, they persevered and got England to their first ever women’s World Cup final and first World Cup final since 1966. The legacy of this team is winners, and that’s the start of a journey. We may not have won the World Cup today, but we can leave this tournament knowing we gave it everything, and that this lioness team is leaving football in a better place than what they found it. We’re proud of you, always. 🦁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Australia vs England World Cup semi final; thoughts
ENGLAND ARE THROUGH TO THE WORLD CUP FINAL !!! I thought we played fantastic today, eery player genuinely stepped up and got the job done. We went into this game looked at as the underdog, people didn't expect us to win, we saw who the ref was and didn't think this game would go well, we saw that we were wearing the away kit and thought some curse was going to get us, the code to the England fans allocated seats got leaked and Australian fans bought most of them, some Australian news paper sent a HELICOPTER to spy on us... but this team blocked out every single bit of that noise out and did all of their talking on the pitch.
Our backline was a brickwall today, for the most part :) There were mistakes made with the Sam Kerr goal, but they didn't let that happen again, they regrouped and Millie Bright put her body on the line time and time again to stop Sam Kerr. Her long balls were the difference today, passing the ball down down the field which lead to the Hemp ad Russo goals which made us abe to safely see the game out and relax was one of the reasons we won. Lucy Bronze was everywhere again today, she put her body on the line (her bloody ankle says it all) and her headers which got the ball away helped us, she knows how to see out a game ;) annoying for some but she knows. Jess Carter and Alex Greenwood have saved us throughout this tournament, Jess Carter covering for Lucy Bronze and allowing her to go forward and covering that space in behind her so that opposition attackers cant make crosses or get up the pitch has saved us many times, shes been a rock this tournament. Alex Greenwood, the stats speak for themself, shes been our best player. She's created the most chances at this world cup (14) and her passing is pin point, she only made 5 incorrect passes against Australia.
We've all had concerns about our midfield throughout this tournament, it was a target area for other teams to silence, which significantly damages our play, but this team always finds a way. Ella Toone, recieved a lot of criticism this tournament, from myself as well, but in this game she showed up and reminded everyone of what she's capable of, showing up in big moments. The pockets of space she was picking up during that game which allowed passes to flow through from the backline into our attacking line were fantastic, she scored a rocket of an opening goal and overall had a great match. Keira Walsh, another outstanding tournament from her, her off the ball work is excellent, probably been marked more than she would have liked but she still manages to make it work, KW4 world cup final first england winning goal incoming ?? ;)
Our attacking lineeeeee cmonnnnnn. goals galore, probably not as many as we'd like to have seen, but they got the job done ! most of the time :) Lauren Hemp has set this tournament alight, as has Alessia Russo. Rachel Daly has been good at the front and at the back, which speaks volumes of her quality. Now that we're in the final, means that Lauren James can return to the squad following a 2 match ban after recieving a red card in the RO16 against Nigeria, curious to see where she'll fit into the plans for the final, she was having a good tournament and could've potentially been in the race for golden boot.
Mary Earps has obviously been THEE difference maker, the life saver, the game changer. England have conceded THREE times in this tournament. Three times. She's the best in the world for a reason she the least she deserves is her shirt being sold.
The Jordan not playing thing, will address my thoughts because i get a few asks lol. Obviously its disheartening that she hasn't gotten any game time, she left Arsenal to get into this squad, she really wanted to be here. Jordan will know her role in this team, she's an older player now, she's been out of the national team for a while, on the outskirts not really having a role, she's come back with a fresh mentality and new experiences to draw upon for this tournament. She's elevating this team, the younger players, Alessia, Ella ect have all said how close shes become to everyone in this team, shes uplifting them so they can perform at their best. She'll have known her role going into this tournament, obviously its sad she hasn't gotten any game time but if she lifts that trophy on sunday, i dont think she'll mind too much.
On sunday, we play in the final of the World Cup for the first time ever, we've won the Euro's (where we beat spain), we've won the finilissima, today we defeated the only team we've lost to since Sarina took over in 2021. This team are not finished yet, people underestimated us going into this tournament, they underestimated us today, on sunday we'll show them that we cant, and shouldn't be underestimated. In Sarina we trust xx

Haunted Mansion (2023) was really good. It had powerful messages of love and grief, was absolutely hilarious, very good found family situation, and just overall, I really enjoyed it.

For the record, I want Lauren James to get a 3 match ban. I want her World Cup to be over. That’s the only appropriate punishment and she has literally no one to blame but herself. Her age or level of talent shouldn’t factor into the decision or make it harder.
To me, part of what made her behaviour so terrible is that it really was not done “in the heat of the moment”. The moment wasn’t that heated. Yes, she was frustrated with the way the game was going, not seeing any of the ball, being fouled — but what she did wasn’t a knee jerk reaction. She had time to think about it. She didn’t just step on Alozie, she also decided to push her body into the ground and use her like an object to get herself up. Then she stepped on her for good measure. You really can’t overstate the level of disrespect and egotism in those actions. And it doesn’t matter whether or not she’s sorry. An apology doesn’t negate consequences.
It’s also not fair to the other players on the England squad to have their World Cup overshadowed by James’ actions. If she returns, it’s all anyone will be talking about. It will make the whole team/staff/FA look bad by association and they will be seen as enablers.
I think a lot of the time the hate the Lionesses get is unwarranted and more a projection of peoples’ attitudes toward England as a country, their history and the behaviour of English supporters, rather than anything to do with the women themselves who make up the squad. But James’ conduct really represented exactly what it is a lot of people think of when they think of England. Making exceptions for her and letting her continue in this tournament will only make people more steadfast in their anti-English sentiment (at least in regards to football) and give them a very valid reason to root against the Lionesses and detract from any success they have going forward which, like I said, is unfair to the other players who have represented their nation with class thus far.
I myself don’t know if I’ll be able to continue to root for England in this tournament if LJ returns. It would just leave too bad of a taste in my mouth.

Can commentators for the rest of the tournament speak about players that are on the pitch.
No hate to Sam, she’s a fantastic baller but I sat through a game where she came on in the last few minutes but was spoken about more than the players on the pitch.
The exact same thing for England game, Leah kept on being brought up.
Can we just let the girls shine on their own stage.
I have no problem with speaking about the players missing after the game but let’s also speak about why they’re out and what we can do to fix that instead of saying how they were missed?
Federation issues?
Funding issues?
Inequality and inequity?
Health/ACL injuries?
Abusive work environments?
Speaking of possible steps forward from now on for the women’s game?
God. The women’s game is growing, let’s grow the commentary with it yeah?
