My daughter is turning ten in a little over a week. Is it normal to feel some mourning over this status in her life? This double digit age she has reached. The fact that she will never be a tiny giggly baby anymore. It’s not like it happened overnight yet somehow it still feels as if I woke up this morning and realized it all at once. I thought I was so ok with her being so grown but I guess a part of me is truly heartbroken for all the years that have already passed. Life is so fleeting. All the moments of parenthood are so incredibly fleeting. No matter how we live our lives, home full time, part time or at work. Balancing this cherishing of the moments we are given while trying our best to hold our patience it will always be a constant struggle. The time will continue to pass and we cannot stop it, even as much as we wish that we could. Please tell me I’m not alone in this! I was really tired this week so I decided to take a day off from my regular posts. One day turned into two, three, four... Does that happen to anyone else? Isn’t social media supposed to be fun? At what point did it start feeling a little bit like a job? I’ve been thinking about a lot of these things over my little break. I love when I can put myself out there and find others to talk to and shoot the sh*t with especially right now during Covid since I’ve been home for almost a year. But sometimes I try to put myself out there in stories or posts asking questions, starting polls etc hoping to stir up conversation and get little to no replies. It makes me question what all this is for. Is it worth the time taken away from my life inside my home, my kids and husband to not get very much back. Does anyone else ever feel that way?! Favorite Christmas gift of 2020, the hoverboards! If you are looking for a fun gift your whole family will love these things are it! They are so much fun... I know because my husband and I ride them almost daily lol! They are surprisingly easy to ride once you get the hang of them! Even our four year old has gone from barely able to stand to a regular pro in the matter of weeks. And in case you were wondering, they don’t leave any marks on our hardwood floors so we have been riding them around our house. We live in New England so it’s been too cold to enjoy them outside. We’ve been trying to be more intentional about our Saturdays by setting aside some time between dinner and bed for games or Legos with the kids. It’s been a great way to reconnect as a family which has made me so happy lately. Then we follow up our family time with a weekly ~ at home ~ date night.
