Baby Dew getting to help decorate for Yule 🩷
Cw: none
“I want sparkles!” Phantom yells across the table. Aurora hands over the little gems closest to her to the little quint who happily takes them.
“Who has the green paint?” Swiss glances around, looking for the color he needs for his ornament.
“I do, I just need a little more…” Mountain says softly as he continues painting.
The little multi smiles. “Ok! Take your time Mount, I'll work on another spot till you're done.”
Aether smiles at all of them, watching as they all work on their ornaments for this year's yule. Everyone is around, laughing and talking watching as the little ones create. There are sweet smells in the air as Cumulus bakes with Copia and Terzo, and music playing in the background.
“Boo!” Dew giggles and shoves his fingers in the blue paint, smearing it on his ornament.
“That looks beautiful so far!” Aether tells the baby on his lap. “Is blue your favorite?”
He looks at Aether. “No! Aef!” He points at the purple across the table.
“Purple is your favorite? That's very pretty. I like purple too.”
“Berg!” He almost grabs the little earth ghouls ornament but Aether stops him just in time.
“Don't paint on Mountains please, just do yours.”
“Berg …see p’ease!”
“I think he wants to see yours, sapling.”
Mountain holds it up with a smile. “M’making a snowy tree!”
Dew stares at it for a moment before clapping. “Pitty!”
“It's very pretty! You're very talented, Sapling!”
“L-look at mine, A-Aeth!” Phantom holds theirs up, revealing a moon with a bat flying in front of it.
“Wow! That looks so good, bug! You're working really hard huh?”
“The b-bat is gonna s-sparkle!”
“That's going to be amazing, I can't wait to see it.”
He looks down, watching Rain pour a little purple paint onto Dew's plate so he can use it. He immediately shoves his hand in it and it hits Aether then…watching him participate that this is the very first time he's been able to really join in.
Of course he was always there, swaddled tight and cradled in someone's arms but trapped somewhere deep in his mind. But how he's come so far, he'd fought his way through it and now…now he's actively joining in and making his very first ornament for the big tree in the den.
He blinks against the burn of tears watching his sticky fingers poke at his ornament leaving little purple spots. This is a moment Aether will cherish for forever.
The baby gasping breaks him from his thoughts and he watches him stick his hand into the sparkles.
“Oooh!” He holds his hand up for Aether to see. “Pitty!”
Aether laughs knowing he'll probably never get rid of the sparkles at this point. “Very pretty.”
Rain squeals and giggles when the baby pokes him with his glittery fingers making Dew giggle too.
“I'm not a decoration!” Rain laughs again, wiping off some of the glitter.
Aether laughs while he watches over the table, watching them all create something special that shows who they are to display proudly on the tree. He always loves this time of year, just something about the togetherness of it that fills him with a peace that's saved just for Yule time.
Dew decides he's done when he hears Cumulus laugh from the kitchen. He wiggles his way off of Aether's lap and wanders off to find her, toddling with his hands out to the side to steady himself.
“Mamma!” He hollers as he gets a little closer.
“I'm in here, my love!”
Aether smiles when the baby rounds the corner, his loud giggle breaking through the rest of the happy noise around him.
He flips Dew's ornament over and writes his name and the date and holds it just a little longer, cherishing the fact that he has come so far with them.

hellooo its 🪬 anon again!! (^^)/ (i'm on my computer typing this rather than on my phone and the emoji looks so different lol)
i have a particular soft spot for little!aether, so could I request maybe something about his first time regressing? I feel like he either wouldn't realize he was regressed or he would drop involuntarily the first time, or maybe both.
take all the time you need on this <3
Sorry this took forever!
Hope it's ok 🩷
Cw: Aether's first drop, he's scared, brief mention of a death in the infirmary
Aether makes his bed once he's dressed for the day, folding his summoning blanket last, his fingers rubbing along the soft, familiar fabric. He smiles to himself as he presses the purple blanket against his cheek and thinks of all it has been through with him,how much comfort and peace a simple piece of fabric brought him.
He lays it along the end of the bed and runs his fingers over it one more time before heading out to start his shift, his mind wandering back to his summoning and the days that had followed.
He remembers it like yesterday. The night had been warm and clear with a big full moon like it anyways was when Quints were summoned. The stars had glittered and twinkled like they were celebrating the new arrival along with the other ghouls.
It went smoothly, Aether had been prepared and excited, he knew what to expect but it still didn't stop the nervous butterflies in his belly once he was in the circle surrounded by strangers.
He kept his head high as another quint stepped forward with a small smile and a blanket in their arms.
“I'm Omega.” He stepped closer to wrap the blanket around his shaking shoulders. “Are you able to speak yet?”
He tries and struggles at first but eventually the words come. “Aether.”
“Welcome Aether, it's good to have you with us.” Omega's smile is genuine, soft and warm and Aether feels trust blooming in his chest as he's gently led from the circle. “I'll show you to your room and I'll point mine out in case you need anything.”
The room is far nicer than he could have imagined and he isn't far from Omega which makes his heart slow to a more normal speed.
“If you need anything, anything at all, you know where to find me. The first night can be a lot but you don't have to go through it alone.” He smiles and gives his hand a gentle squeeze. “I'll leave you to get settled.”
It doesn't really hit him until Omega shuts the door behind him as he leaves. He was ok, calm throughout the tour, happy to ask and answer questions…but now he's alone and he doesn't really know what to do. He wanders the room, committing every corner to memory until he's sure he could walk it blindfolded.
The blanket around his shoulders is a comfort, a soothing weight that smells like Omega. He pulls it a little tighter around himself as he sits on the bed. It's big, comfortable but it feels like too much.
He refuses to cry even though he feels like he might, just overwhelmed from everything. He pulls the corner of the blanket into his mouth, not entirely sure why he does it or why it offers comfort, as he lays back against the pillows and shuts his eyes, trying to focus on his excitement about his new life.
~~
He had shadowed Omega around the infirmary, learning new things top side and picking it all up with ease. Omega is quick with praise, squeezing his shoulder, offering big warm smiles. Aether feels at peace around him.
He likes the rest of the pack as well, he gets along with everyone but there is just something…safe about Omega that he finds himself leaning more into. He likes being around him, especially after long nights when he didn't sleep well.
The days pass easily, he loves the pack, he loves the Papa's, he loves his job. He feels settled, like things make sense. Even the harder days feel ok because he's not alone, he's got support and love around him.
So it's a complete surprise when it happens, scaring him so bad he thinks his heart is going to stop. It's never happened before and he has no idea how to make it stop.
He'd lost patients before, the pit wasn't always the easiest place to live…but he hadn't topside. When it inevitably happens, an elderly man called home, Aether breaks. He understands death, he knows it's another journey in life and while loss is hard it's also beautiful in its own way.
He knows this…really he does but he can't make it make sense right now. One minute the old man is still there and then he just…isn't and Aether feels tears welling up as he glances at the clock.
He knows he needs to pull himself together, there is no place for weakness in this job, people are relying on him, Omega is relying on him, he trusts him to be able to handle whatever is thrown at him but all he wants to do is hide away and tell them all he can't do it.
The nurses come and Aether leaves as fast as he can, a feeling hes never experienced settling over his shoulders, pressing down on him like it might just squish him into the ground.
He doesn't make it far before the drop happens. He hits the ground and crawls under Omega's desk, covering his ears and squeezing his eyes closed as tight as he can against the tears. He's never been so scared in all his life!
He's dealt with littles before but he's never dropped himself and he's scared and alone curled up under the desk, shaking and crying quietly.
He has no idea how long he sits there, but his legs are cramping and his eyes burn from the tears. He wants to run to his room but he doesn't want anyone to see him like this, he doesn't even want to see him like this.
“Aether?”
He jumps at Omega's voice, his teeth sinking into the now too big sleeve of his shirt as he just hopes Omega won't realize he's here.
“Aether I know you're in here, I can feel your magic…”
He sniffles and he knows there's no way Omega doesn't hear him. He braces himself for the look of disgust, for him to kick him out and tell Papa that there had been a mistake, that Aether wasn't good enough for the job.
It takes him a minute but eventually the other quint kneels and peeks under the desk with a soft smile. “You're ok.”
He shakes his head and tries to curl up more, to make himself even smaller.
“Is this your first drop? It can be pretty scary.” He keeps his voice low and gentle. “You're safe here. I'll sit just over here and you can decide if you want to talk or not ok? I just can't leave you all by yourself right now.”
He sits a little bit away from the desk but keeps himself visible to the little ghoul. Omega studies him without being too obvious, trying to guess an age and how to best approach him right now. He figures it's best to wait for him to decide.
He's silent for a while before he eventually finds his voice. “M’sorry…”
“You have nothing to be sorry for, Aether. You've done nothing wrong.”
“I…I never…”
“It's ok, you have a lot going on right now, it can be really scary but you've been so brave and you've done so well. We're all really proud of you.”
He chews his sleeve and lets the words settle. He peeks over at Omega, finding him contently sitting and patiently waiting.
“I don’ know what to do…” More tears spill down his splotchy cheeks and his breath hitches.
“That's ok, it takes time to learn what works best. I can help you if you'd like.”
He's not sure what that means but he knows he finds comfort in Omega and he wants that. He lowers his hands and watches for any sign of Omega changing his mind as he slowly crawls closer.
He pauses just before him, still uncertain and hesitant. Omega opens his arms, smiling and nodding until the little ghoul eventually closes the space and curls in his lap, crying against his shoulder.
“It's ok.” Omega rubs his back, rocking gently side to side. “Do you want to talk or just go take a rest?”
It hits him then, the bone deep exhaustion and he snuggles closer to Omega's neck, breathing deep and closing his eyes.
Omega laughs softly. “Rest it is. Are you comfortable going to my room or would you prefer yours? I think I have some books I can read to you if you'd like.”
He'd been in Omega's room before but obviously never like this, but the idea of being in his space makes his heart slow into a peaceful rhythm.
He pokes Omega's chest, not able to find the words but he panics about someone maybe seeing him. He feels his magic settle over him like a warm blanket and he relaxes.
“It's ok. No one will see you until you're ready. I'll keep you safe.”
He believes him, trusting every word he speaks because he can feel how genuine he is. He holds his breath and keeps his eyes squeezed closed as they walk up to Omega's room, knowing if he sees anyone he'll only be more uncomfortable.
“I'm going to set you down on the bed ok?” Omega tells him once they are in the room with the door shut.
He looks around once he's set down, pulling his sleeve back up into his mouth to chew on it.
Omega digs around his closet, grabbing one of his softest blankets but Aether doesn't seem too interested in it.
“Is there anything you want? Something that makes you feel safe?” He holds the little ghouls hand while he nods. “Yeah? Can you tell me so I can get it for you?”
“My…my blanket…”
“A particular one?”
He nods, resting more heavily against Omega. “From you.”
He smiles. “Your summoning blanket?”
“Yeah…s'my f-favorite.”
“Do you want to change into one of my shirts while I go get that for you? Or I can grab one of yours while I'm in there?”
He thinks for a moment, part of him not believing he deserves this treatment, this kindness. “Yours….if it's ok…”
“Of course it's ok!” He smiles and heads to his dresser to grab a soft shirt. “You go ahead and change and I'll go grab your blanket.”
He watches Omega leave and is hit with a wave of fear. Being by himself right now doesn't feel good and he's scared that his mind will spiral if he's gone too long. He does as he's told and changes into the too big shirt, pulling his arms inside and sitting back on the bed.
The fear is getting worse but then the door opens and he sees Omega and his blanket and he slowly starts to feel ok again. He grabs his blanket and immediately presses it up against his cheek, closing his eyes and breathing in the familiar scent of it.
“That's better. Let me find a book and we can just relax. Get comfy.”
He leans back against the pillows with his blanket, his eyes getting heavy as he watches Omega move around. He grabs a book and joins the little ghoul on the bed, getting comfy while keeping a bit of space so Aether can decided what he wants to do.
He starts reading quietly, an old collection of fairytales, one of Terzo’s many prized books he loves so much. He watches the little quint from the corner of his eye, watching him slowly shift a little closer with his blanket up between his lips, eyes getting heavier the longer he listens to Omega's voice.
Eventually he slumps over against Omega's side, eyes closed and breathing deep and even. He smiles, setting the book aside and adjusting the blanket over his little body.
“Sleep well, I'll be right here.”
~~
Aether is all smiles when he gets to the infirmary and sees Omega there, reading over his charts. He walks up and wraps him in a hug, kissing his cheek as he does.
Omega laughs and hugs him back. “What's this for?”
“I just appreciate you and everything you've done for me.”
Omega squeezes him tighter. “It's my pleasure, Stellina.”

Hope you’re doing well tiny 💙
I hope this is ok!
Cw: mountain gets frustrated, very short mention of an upset Dew
Mountain tips his head back and bites his lip against the frustration. He normally has endless patience, able to deal with anything and everything tossed his way but not today. Today he's got way too much to do and Dew wouldn't let anyone else take him. That was fine, Mountain had worked while he wore Dew in his sling countless times.
But Dew didn't want to be in the sling, fussing and tugging at it with his little hands and tears in his eyes begging to be set down so he could walk and explore. But Mountain wasn't going to be able to watch him and get stuff done at the same time and Dew was just getting more and more upset.
“Dew please! Stop!” He didn't really raise his voice but he spoke firmly and immediately regretted it. It wasn't the baby's fault that today just wasn't great. “I'm sorry, I'm sorry Dew I just-”
But he was already crying, big fat tears on his cheeks, his lower lip wobbling. Mountain felt awful and was ready to just give up on his chores to make it up to Dewdrop when Terzo wandered by, sipping a coffee and looking at the yule decorations that had been put up so far.
“Zo….”
He sounds so sad and Mountain frowns. He knows the baby will forgive him and he'll make it up to him but he still feels awful.
“Terzo.” Mountain greets him, walking slowly up to him with Dew held up against his chest.
“Oh hello!” He smiles, reaching out to take Dew's hand.
“Zo p’ease!” He leans forward, reaching out as much as he can.
“You busy? I have so much to do and I just can't keep an eye on him. He wants to walk around.”
“You want to come with me, amorino?”
“P’ease…”
Mountain unties the sling, gently handing him over to Terzo. He's bundled up nice and warm against the chilly air of early winter. Terzo sets him down, holding his little hand while he steadies himself on his feet.
“You sure you don't mind? I just…”
He touches Mountain's shoulder gently. “It's fine, go do what you need to do, I'll keep him entertained.” He smiles brightly down at the baby. “Can you say bye bye to Mount?”
He waves but doesn't say anything, too interested in the lights he can see from where they stand. He points to the lights as Mountain starts to wander off.
“Zo go p’ease!”
Terzo laughs and holds his hand tight as they start to make their way toward the pretty colored lights lining one of the main walking paths.
He stumbles occasionally, using Terzos hand to steady himself before continuing on, muttering an ‘uh oh’ each time. He babbles as they walk, and Terzo talks back, filling him in on all the latest gossip he's heard from the Sister's. Dew listens, at least Terzo pretends he does.
Dew gets more excited the closer they get, his babbles more erratic and high pitched and Terzo can't help but laugh.
When they pause at the walkway, Dew's eyes are huge, round and reflecting the lights.
“Pitty….” He whispers, taking it all in with his mouth hanging open.
“Molto bello!” (Very pretty)
Dew claps and plops down to sit right in the middle of the walkway, looking all over the place, pointing at the lights with a big smile.
“Boo!”
“There is blue. What other colors do you see?” Terzo sits on the gravel, folding his legs so Dew can sit on his lap to stay warm. He doesn't care about his nice clothes as long as the baby is happy.
“Geen! Red!” He points at one and looks back at Terzo for help.
“White. Bianco.”
He points up above them. “Dat?”
“Those are snowflakes. Aren't they pretty?”
“Mine!”
He laughs again, kissing the top of his head. Dew continues pointing at the lights, naming his colors and making Terzo do the same.
Eventually Mountain makes his way over to them and Dew reaches for him. Terzo watches the giants shoulders relax and he smiles, easing himself to the ground beside them. Dew crawls over to his lap, pointing at the lights.
“Look vati! Pitty!”
“They are very pretty.”
“Nofakes!”
He laughs. “I see the snowflakes, I think those are my favorite.”
Dew turns to look at him. “Vati mad…”
He sighs. “I'm sorry my love,I didn't mean to raise my voice. It was not your fault, vati just…was overwhelmed.”
Dew watches him for a long moment. “No mad.”
“I'm not mad. I promise.”
Terzo smiles at their conversation thinking about how far Dewdrop had come. The fact that he could communicate now was such a gift and Terzo was grateful for it every day.
“What do you say we go have some hot chocolate and a Yule story?”
Mountain smiles and nods and Dew claps, his cheeks getting red from the chilly air.
“Yum!”
Mountain carries him and Terzo holds one of his hands at his insistence. He babbles about the lights while Terzo makes the hot chocolate, adding extra marshmallows for Dew who giggles while he plays with one in his fingers. Mountain gets the fire started in the den and watches over the baby while Terzo goes to find a book.
They snuggle on the couch together under a blanket and Terzo reads until Mountain falls asleep against him.
Dew shushes him once he sees he's sleeping. “Vati ni ni.”
“He did go night night.” He kisses the top of Mountain's head and carefully moves out from behind him, taking Dew along with him. “Let's let him sleep.”
He carries him down to the library and grabs a stack of books to read to Dew. They settle on the couch and they read together as a gentle snow starts to fall outside the window.

Can we have more of diabetic phantom, one where they experience a high blood sugar maybe? I just love little diabetic phantom! Or how they found out that phantom had diabetes, that would be very interesting to see, I can imagine it was a little scary for everyone
Love all your writing btw
warnings for dizziness due to high blood sugar and an insulin shot (non-descriptive)
Because of how wrong Phantom’s summoning went, as the time goes, he turns out to have more and more health problems. At first Aether and Omega had only seen what was outside.
A couple of months after the young quintessence ghoul’s summoning, it turns out he’s diabetic. He was properly educated on how to take care of himself—the whole pack was—but accidents happen. Most often when Phantom is little and alone; they simply don’t remember to check their blood sugar or take the medication to control it.
They are a sneaky little creature who loves candy, too, and that puts them in danger sometimes.
Phantom is small today and they’ve been playing on their own in their room for the last couple hours, but their sweet tooth eventually makes an appearance. They sneak into the kitchen and crawl up onto the counter to reach the secret-not-secret sweet cabinet, giggling to themself.
In no time at all they’re sitting in the middle of a small pile of colorful, shiny wrappers with a big smile on their chocolate covered face. They have some kind of restraint, though, so not long after that they shuffle all the trash under the fridge to hide the evidence and get themself up to run away from the crime scene.
They are extremely proud of themself up until the moment they notice the door is…double. Their head begins to hurt a little, too, and they’re suddenly so thirsty.
“Oh no…” Phantom whines, realizing what they just did. They know they need to get to a big ghoul and get their insulin before it gets worse, but…the door is double and the room is kind of spinning.
Thankfully, someone does come around just in time.
The little quintessence ghoul starts to get distressed. They really don’t feel good and there’s no one there to help them—they’re scared.
Phantom flops down and sits right where they’re standing so they don’t fall over and they simply…wait; hoping someone will come around to help them. Tears of guilt, fear and discomfort well up in their eyes.
Phantom is swaying from side to side and front to back, on the verge of passing out from how high their blood sugar has gotten. They don’t notice Cumulus walking, and then running, towards them.
“Oh, you poor thing,” she coos when she kneels in front of them and only then does Phantom notice her. They slump forward and end up with their face against the air ghoulettes arm.
“M–mama…” they whine. “I eated c–candy an’ I don’ feel g–good.”
“I know, little one,” Cumulus sighs. “It’s okay, I’ll get your medicine and we’ll fix you right up.”
It’s not easy for her to grab the insulin that’s in the kitchen, though, with Phantom laying against her like that. Thankfully they’re not heavy when little so she manages to safely lift them up and rest them on her hip while she fetches their emergency kit. She also has her tail to help.
Soon enough Cumulus sits back in an armchair with Phantom in her lap and prepares their shot and administers it. The air ghoulette keeps cuddling them as the insulin starts working and around fifteen minutes later they start feeling better.
“‘m sorry, mama,” Phantom whines, turning to hide in Cumulus’ chest in shame.
“It’s alright, sweetie,” she assures, “but you need to be more careful, especially when you’re alone.”
“I know…”
“You know what it got you, though?” the air ghoulette teases a little.
“W–what?” Phantom perks up.
“Unlimited cuddles for the rest of the day,” Cumulus chuckles. The little quintessence ghoul can’t contain their giggles. They like that.

Just some small Aether comfort
Cw: nightmares mentioned
It had been a long day, the longest he's had in a while and he was exhausted, the kind he can feel right down to the bone.
Everyone had needed him for something and that was ok, he was always happy to help but he'd had nightmares all night and he still felt the dark chill of them in his spine. The fear still lingered on the edges of his mind as he tried his best to offer comfort when really he needed some himself.
Omega hadn't been there, having a much deserved day off and Aether had just felt so alone. He kept his mind clear, listened and helped but he could feel the little breaks happening, the slip was going to come one way or another. He was glad he lasted his whole shift, it would have been worse if someone had to come cover for him.
But now he doesn't know where to go because Omega isn't around and Dew is little and so is Mountain…so he wanders off alone toward his room, feet dragging, dreading closing his eyes because he knows more nightmares are just waiting for him.
He feels tears in his eyes but he chokes them back, he's gotta be big and brave, he's not supposed to be little and this really just proves it. He's gotta face his nightmares and just deal with it…so he will.
He tries to pretend his heart isn't racing and that his tummy isn't twisted into knots. He knows he's slipping further, he can feel it but he tries to fight it off.
Aether almost shrieks when a hand slips into his, but he settles quickly when he realizes it's Omega.
“What-”
“I felt you. Why weren't you going to come find me?” He squeezes Aether's hand.
He shrugs and chews his lip. He doesn't want to say it's because he still feels like he's not supposed to be allowed this because Omega always looks so sad when he says it. He just can't help how he feels.
“I can deal with it by myself…”
Omega makes them stop walking and takes both of Aether's hands. “I know you can, you're brave and so strong but we are a pack which means we don't have to deal with those things by ourselves. We've got each other to help.”
Omega kisses his forehead and continues leading the way to Aether's room, feeling him drop just a little more as they go.
“I'm going to get you a bath ready and you're going to relax.”
“But it's your day off…”
Omega just smiles. He's mostly dropped by the time they make it to his room but he's still fighting. Omega doesn't say anything, he simply keeps a soft smile on his face and a gentle hand in Aether's.
“Do you want to pick out some jammies before your bath?”
He chews the sleeve of his shirt and shakes his head. He doesn't want to think, he just wants to drift off with Omega there to keep him tethered.
“That's ok, I'll find some once you're in the tub.” He leads him to the bathroom and gets the water filling, adding extra bubbles that make the little quint smile a little bit. He helps in get in, holding his hand so he doesn't slip, adding a towel folded up as a makeshift pillow so he can lay back and relax. “I'm going to step out to find your jammies, I'm leaving the door open ok?”
Aether nods as Omega shuts the water off and leaves the room. His eyes are heavy and the water is nice and warm and he feels himself slip down just a little further. He shuts his eyes, letting his mind flow away, he can feel Omega's magic and he knows he's safe, he doesn't have to think or do anything, Omega's got him.
It brings him so much peace that he falls asleep for a bit, drifting off into soft dreams before he's gently shaken awake by warm hands he knows so well.
Omega helps him from the bath, carefully getting him dried off and into his jammies, the extra soft ones saved for the rare times he's smaller than usual. He gets him tucked into bed with his summoning blanket and Aether immediately pulls the corner into his mouth, his eyes fighting to stay open.
Omega climbs up beside him, smiling when the little ghoul snuggles in as close as he can. He hums and sings softly and runs his fingers over his back, watching as he slips back into sleep, his magic weaving in and keeping his dreams sweet. He won't allow nightmares here, won't allow them to cloud his eyes and weigh him down.
He's safe here, from anything and everything.
“Dormi bene, mia piccola stella.” (Sleep well my little star.)

Just a little something about Dew and his first steps!
Cw: none
Mountain sits on the couch with his book and tea while Dew plays at his feet with his toys. It's a quiet morning, just the two of them awake and Mountain basks in the quiet. Dew babbles softly to his toys, his hair sticking up at all angles from sleep. He's content, occasionally rubbing his eyes like he might still be sleepy.
He doesn't think much of it when Dew starts moving, crawling off toward the play area of the den, it's not out of the ordinary...but then he catches a different movement from the corner of his eyes and jumps up.
“Dew!”
He falls back down into a sitting position, spooked and looking at Mountain in confusion.
“You walked!” He laughs, sounding a little hysterical to his own ears. He kneels beside the baby and lifts him to his feet. “Can you show me?”
Dew stares at him for a long moment before he takes a wobbly step forward. Mountain beams as he watches him take another then another until he falls back down at claps.
“You did it! You're amazing!”
“Me go!”
Mountain laughs. “Yeah, you're on the move.”
He watches him wander, taking a few unsteady steps before toppling over and clapping, looking back at him for praise and encouragement. Mountain happily gives it, cheering him on as he goes.
It's not long before they hear footsteps on the stairs and Swiss and Lus chatting as they make their way down. Dew's ears perk up and he stands on shaky little legs and starts heading in their direction. Mountain hovers behind him, ready to catch him before he hits the hard floor.
“Mamma!” He cheers when he sees her and it takes her a second to realize he's upright and moving closer slowly.
They both glance at mountain before looking back down at the baby who's still walking toward them with his arms out at his side's to balance.
Cumulus breaks into a big, bright smile. “Look at you go!”
He smiles before falling back down and immediately getting scooped up by Swiss.
“¡Bien hecho, luciérnaga!” (Well done firefly!)
He giggles as Swiss blows raspberries on his belly, grabbing hold of his horns with his little hands. Cumulus takes him next, hugging him close and kissing his cheek.
“Want to help mamma make breakfast?”
“Me go mamma!”
She smiles and carries him to the kitchen, plopping him in his highchair and giving him a spoon and bowl to play with while she starts cooking with Swiss.
They eat breakfast once everyone else makes it downstairs. They don't share the news, preferring them all to see for themselves. Dew eats his oatmeal and berries, making a mess but having fun with it, trying to share with Rain and Mountain who sit closest to him.
Once they are done, Rain carries him to the den for more play time. He sets him on the floor and wanders off to the tv to turn it on for background noise.
He's standing beside it when he feels a tug on his pants, nearly jumping when he looks down and sees Dew standing there looking up at him.
He assumes he just crawled and pulled himself to stand like usual but then the baby turns unsteadily and heads back off toward his toys.
Rain just stares silently after him, stunned as he watches until Mountain laughs from the doorway. He points at the baby, as if silently asking if the earth ghoul sees it too and he nods.
“He started earlier this morning. He's apparently on a mission.”
“Me go!” Dew hollars from across the room, bending to grab his star and toppling over. “Uh oh!”
They both laugh and Rain moves close, scooping him up and kissing his cheeks.
“Good job, amour!”
He wiggles in his hold. “Me go daidi!”
Rain laughs and sets him back on the floor, steadying him as he does. “You want to go visit Aeth? I think he'd like to see this new skill of yours.”
He holds Dew's hand into the hall, carrying him down the stairs, then setting him back on his feet once they are close to the infirmary.
It doesn't seem very busy and rain spots Aether at his desk. They head in that direction, the quint smiling when he spots them coming toward him. He stands and moves around to the front of his desk, watching Dew walk hand in hand with Rain.
That's not unusual, Dew likes to move, he's just not prepared for rain to let go of his little hand and for him to just keep going!
He blinks and looks at Rain before looking back down at the baby who's still toddling toward him. “He's….he's…”
“Yeah, he decided to walk today, he wanted to come show you.”
Aether's eyes are wet as Dew gets closer until he's close enough to wrap his arms around Aether's leg, hugging as hard as he can with a big, proud smile on his little face.
Aether picks him up, hugging him tight and making Dew giggle. “You're amazing!”
“Me go!”
“You certainly did!” Aether laughs, brushing at his eyes quickly. “I'm so proud of you.”
Dew touches his cheek before wiggling to be set down again. They both watch him wander around, steadying himself as he goes, getting more sure on his feet.
Aether laughs. “We are going to need more baby gates, his escaping is about to get so much worse!”
Rain nods with a smile. It's worth it.
#oh gosh!!!#im so proud of him AH!!!#i know hes “just” a fictional character but im so happy to be able to see his healing process through your fics moony#amazing

An idea from 🍬🐝. The cg was supposed to be someone else but Alpha had other ideas apparently!
Hope it's ok 🩷
Cw: Halloween decorations, Mount is a little scared but very brave, alpha is a softy, alpha and omega being brothers and ridiculous about it
Mountain wanders down the hall in his cow costume (a soft onesie Dew had ordered for him) with Acker tucked under his arm. He knows exactly who he wants to help him since Dew is too little right now and Rain's currently in Aether's room because of a bad pain day.
He feels a little nervous but he's determined so he keeps going, squeezing his cow just a bit tighter. He pauses at the door and slowly raises his hand to knock.
Alpha is a little confused at first before he lowers his eyes and finds the little ghoul standing there. He lowers himself to kneel so he's not towering over the skittish little ghoul, putting a smile quickly on his usually cranky face.
“Hi Mount, you ok?”
He nods a little shyly. “Yeah I just…I was wonderin’ if you would help me?”
“Of course! What do you need?”
Mountain takes a deep breath before continuing, the fluttery feeling in his tummy getting worse. “I want to go see the Halloween decorations so I'm not scared when we trick or treat….”
Alpha smiles. “That's a really good idea! Of course I'll take you down.”
“Will you dress up with me? Dew was going to but…”
His big wet green eyes are kryptonite to the big fire ghoul and he wants to say no, he's not a dress up kind of guy, but the thought of seeing disappointment on his sweet little face just doesn't sit right. Mountain never asks for anything, Alpha can swallow his pride for a little while.
“S-sure Mount…”
“Really?” His eyes light up and he smiles so big it's gotta hurt his cheeks. “Thank you!”
He knows he doesn't have anything in his closet but he's sure Omega does and they are close enough in height that it should fit.
Mountain holds onto two of Alphas fingers, wandering down the hall to Omega's room. He's working so Alpha doesn't knock and Mountain pauses.
“Will we get in trouble for being in here?” He chews in his lip.
“No, amore, Omega won't mind. I'll send him a text to let him know.” He pulls his phone out and does it right then and there when he realizes Mountain won't budge until Omega says it's ok.
Thankfully the response comes quickly. “Payment is a selfie of you in the onesie!”
Alpha has absolutely zero intention of letting anyone take a picture of him. It works though and the little ghoul walks in, still hovering by the door. He searches the closet until he finds something that's not as embarrassing as it could be, settling on a fox onesie to match somewhat with the little earth ghoul.
He goes into the bathroom and changes quickly, his heart warming when he exits and Mountain smiles again, clearly excited about the costumes.
“Ready Piccola ghianda?” (Little acorn)
“I think so. I'm kinda nervous…”
“I'll be right there with you. It's all pretend, just silly statues. Some might move and make loud noises but…think of them like really big toys. That's pretty much all they are. If you don't like it, we'll leave, I promise.”
He nods, holding tight to Alphas hand as they walk down to the Siblings wing. Sisters giggle when they walk by and Alpha tries not to glare, Mountain waves sweetly and he's comfortable, Alpha can tolerate this for him.
They hear the decorations before they see them and Mountain tenses, flinching back with big, wide eyes.
“Hey, look at me.” He kneels and waits for mountain to find his eyes. “Would I ever let anything happen to you?”
He shakes his head. “N-no.”
“That's right, you're safe, just big toys remember?” He smiles, giving mountain's hand a gentle squeeze. “And like I said, if it's too much we'll leave, no big deal ok?”
“Ok…” He squeezes Acker and peeks around Alpha before nodding. “I'm ready.”
They walk down the hall, pausing to look at everything. The siblings are kind, taking their time to show him that they aren't real, letting him decide when to trigger them for their motions or noises.
Some scare him and he turns, hiding his face against Alpha's belly until it stops and the big fire ghoul patiently waits until he pulls away to talk to him.
“What was it that scared you about it?”
“The sound…it hurts my ears.”
“If it wasn't so loud would it be ok?”
The little ghoul turns to look at it and nods, it's not so bad when it's not screaming.
“Maybe on Halloween you can wear your earplugs. It might help a bit with the sharper noises.”
Mountain agrees and they continue on. He does better than he thought he would and he feels proud of himself, smiling a bit as they reach the end of the hall.
His smile widens when he spots Ifrit and Dew looking at a big werewolf decoration.
Ifrit bites his cheek to stop himself from laughing when he sees Alpha in the fox onesie, the older ghoul glaring at him as if daring him to say something.
“Hey guys! What's going on?”
Dew wiggles, reaching for Mountain.
“Mountain had a very good idea of coming to check everything out before Halloween, right Piccola ghianda?”
Dew frowns and points at Mountain. “No corn! Berg!”
The little earth ghoul laughs and takes hold of Dew's little hand that's still reaching out for him.
Ifrit agrees that it was a really good idea. “Dew thinks they are funny, we've been down here a while.”
The baby turns toward the werewolf, baring his little fangs and growling.
Alpha laughs. “Yeah you're quite ferocious, Dewdrop.”
They all walk back down the hall together and Mountain smiles and less tense each time Dew giggles, by the end of it he doesn't mind the scary animatronics so much, it's just the noise that bothers his ears.
Alpha lifts him up onto his back, heading in the direction of the ghoul wing. “So what do you think? Feel ok about trick or treating?”
“As long as I have my earplugs, yes!” He giggles, still proud of himself for making it through.
He carries him all the way to the den, smiling when he sees Rain waiting on the couch for him.
“Père! Guess what I did!” He bounces over once he's set down but he pauses and heads back to Alpha. “Thank you for going with me and for dressing up. It was so much fun!”
He ruffles his hair. “No problem, Mountain.”
He throws his little arms around him as much as he can, hugging tight. “Love you!”
“I love you too. Now go tell Rain all about it!”
He runs over, climbing up carefully beside Rain and starts telling him all about what he'd seen. Alpha wanders off, ready to get out of the onesie and back into his regular clothes.
He thinks he's spared of further embarrassment, that no one else would see him in it….of course nothing is ever quite so simple.
Omega waits in his room with his phone pointed and ready, snapping a picture as soon as he walks in. He glares and Omega tucks his phone away, slowly standing.
“Should I run?”
“Yes.”
“Five second head start?”
Alpha nods. “One-”
All anyone sees is Omega skidding past them across the floor and a big blur of a fox chasing after him.

Just a tiny thing about baby Dew losing his voice
Cw: none
Rain yawns as he heads up the stairs to get Dew from his nap. He'd been dozing on the couch while the baby napped in his room, safely tucked into his crib. He'd been getting sick, another cold settling into his chest, so he needed to rest more.
He wasn't happy about it and getting him down had been a battle, it took a bottle, the rocking chair, and Rain singing three songs before he finally shut his eyes.
It's quiet when he reaches the door but his heart jumps when he steps inside. Dew had pulled himself to stand and was silently crying, tapping on the bar of his crib to try to get attention.
Rain rushes over, picking him up and squeezing him close. “Oh I'm sorry, amour! I didn't hear you wake up.”
Dew touches his own lips, parting them like he wants to say something but nothing comes out except for a tiny, barely audible whimper.
His little hand touches Rain's mouth as he's talking and then his own with a little pinch between his brow.
It clicks then and Rain kisses his forehead. “Oh no, did you lose your voice?”
He holds his hands up, waving them and wiggling his fingers, babbling in sign. Despite how bad Rain feels, it really is cute.
He kisses his forehead again. “Let's go get a honey sucker, that will at least help your throat.”
Dew points at his throat and frowns, nuzzling up under Rain's chin. He hugs him a little tighter, stroking his back as they leave the room and head down to the kitchen.
Cumulus is in the kitchen, humming as she preps dinner, her apron billowing as she moves around. Dew reaches out as soon as he sees her, waving his little hands like he's trying to get her attention.
She glances over and smiles. “Hi baby! Did you have a good nap?” She takes his hand and kisses it.
He points at his mouth again and signs mama as best as his uncoordinated little hands will allow.
“He lost his voice.” Rain informs her. “We were coming for a sucker.”
“My poor baby.” She touches his cheek before grabbing the jar from the pantry, handing one to Rain to hold for the baby. “That'll help.”
She kisses the top of his head, telling him she loves him before heading back to cooking. Rain takes him to the den, settling on the couch and flicking on the tv to something cute and colorful for Dew to focus on.
After a while, Phantom wanders down, plopping themself right next to Rain, saying hi to the baby. He waves and Phantom frowns a bit, used to his normally excited greeting.
“W-whats wrong?”
“He lost his voice so he can't really talk right now.”
Dew licks the sucker and babbles in sign again and Phantom tilts their head, trying to decipher what he's trying to say.
“Well w-where did it g-go?”
Rain laughs softly. “It's just something that happens sometimes when you get sick. It comes back, I think it's mostly because his throat hurts.”
The little ghoul nods, peeking over at the tv. “Can I w-watch with you?”
Dew claps happily and Rain smiles. “You're always welcome, Petite chauve-souris.”
They lean against Rain's side and Dew pats their head making the other little ghoul giggle. They sit together watching TV for a while until Dew fuses again, wiggling around unable to get comfy. He sloppily signs ‘daddy’ and whines as much as he's able.
“He's napping, amour. He'll be awake soon and-”
“I'm awake now.”
Rain jumps and pulls both little ghouls closer on instinct, the sudden voice spooking him. “Don't do that!”
Aether laughs. “Sorry, I felt him getting upset and it woke me up, figured you'd have heard me stomping down the stairs.”
He reaches for the baby. He's tense when he's moved but he relaxes quickly as Aether's magic works to soothe the pain in his throat. He tries to talk again but still nothing and he angrily waves his hands around.
Aether smiles and hugs him tight. “Want to walk around while I get ready for my shift tonight?”
He wanders off and gets Dew in his sling so he can stay close while Aether moves about. He clings to him, his good ear pressed tight against his chest, listening to his heart and the way the big ghoul hums.
Aether feels him getting sleepy again, and he bounces gently while he grabs a blanket to wrap around him in the sling. He keeps humming until he's completely asleep and he sits in the rocking chair with him, soaking up his time with Dew before he has to go to work.
When it's time to leave, he heads for Mountain's room, passing off the sleeping baby with a little kiss pressed to the top of his head.
“He lost his voice so he's extra cranky, he's trying to sign though!”
Mountain smiles at the pride in his voice. “I'll keep you posted. Do we still have the suckers he likes?”
“Yeah, there's a jar of them.” He kisses Mountain's cheek. “call if-”
“I know.” He laughs. “He's fine Aeth.”
Mountain sways with the baby for a few minutes before laying him on the bed. He paints with music softly playing while Dew naps peacefully.
Eventually he stirs and wakes up, groggy and confused until he sees Mountain. He pushes to sit up and wiggles his fingers.
He manages a barely there ‘ti’ and Mountain smiles, lifting him up off the bed to start getting him changed and ready for dinner.
“Yeah love, vati is here.”

Just something that popped in my head. Outing for pumpkin picking!
Cw: none
Rain and Mountain giggle in the backseat and Dew glances over his shoulder at them, smiling at their little hands laced together as they chat about their outing they're both so excited about.
Dew rests his hand on Aether's knee as he drives, earning a smile from the quint behind the wheel. It's nice, just the four of them off for an outing and Dew smiles to himself as he gets more comfortable in his seat.
They are heading to Mikael’s farm to find pumpkins, the old man always excited for the visitors. He'd called sister to let her know the pumpkins were ready and she passed the news along, exciting a little earth ghoul the second he heard the news.
Now he's in the back with Rain, both buzzing with excitement for the visit to pick their pumpkins and to see the animals.
Mountain had insisted on bringing Acker so he could meet big Acker and he was dressed in a little jacket like Mountain. Rain had also brought Basil along, sporting a little knit hat and boots from Cumulus.
“I can't wait to find our pumpkins!” Rain tells them excitedly.
Mountain giggles. “I can't wait to paint them!”
They talk about what they might paint, bouncing their ideas off of eachother until Aether tells them that they are almost there.
Mountain turns to watch out the window, still holding Rain's hand and holding his stuffy up to watch with his free hand. He gasps and shoves his cow against the window.
“Acker! Papi look!”
“I see him! He looks even bigger than last time!” He smiles, mountain's excitement felt contagious. “Can you see him, Petit mer?”
“He's really big…”
Mountain peeks over at his friend. “He's nice, if you are nice to him he'll be friends with you too!”
Aether parks and helps Dew unload Rain's wheelchair, unbuckling each little ghoul from their booster seats. Mountain stays close to Rain's chair, the two still holding hands as Dew starts pushing him, heading off toward where Mikael told them to meet.
The big farm cat runs over, weaving between Mountain's legs until the little ghoul bends to pet him. He giggles as he does, rubbing his ears until the cat decides that's enough and hops up onto Rain's lap, curling up and purring.
“Papa look! He likes me!”
Dew smiles. “Of course he likes you.”
They head to the barn and Mikael waves when he spots them, a big smile on his face, the cat hops off and brushes against the old man's legs.
“I brought Acker!” Mountain tells him as soon as he gets closer, holding his cow up for him to see.
“Now that's a fine looking fellow! Are you going to show him big Acker?”
“Yeah!”
He laughs quietly. “Well go on, have some fun and then I'll drive you out on the tractor to pick your pumpkins!”
Mountain takes Aether's hand, tugging a bit, excited to visit Acker again, extra excited because he's got his stuffy with him.
They pause a little bit away from him and wait for him to wander over. Mountain holds his cow up, giggling when big Acker sniffs it and gives it a curious lick before he waits for his scratches.
Aether kneels beside Rain, taking his hand. “Would you like me to gold you up so you can pet him?”
He looks at Mountain still scratching the cow's big head. “You promise he's really nice?”
Mountain nods. “Yeah! And he really likes scratches!”
“What if he doesn't want me to scratch him?”
Mountain shrugs. “He'll walk away.”
He nods at Aether, letting him lift him from his chair. He reaches his hand out slowly, settling it close to Mountain's, smiling when he touches Acker.
They take time petting him for a while before he wanders away after licking their hands. Mountain show's him some of the other animals and Rain let's Aether keep holding him, he feels safe up in the big quints arms.
They pet sheep and horses and a donkey before Dew starts directing them over toward the tractor. There is hay in the back and a comfy blanket laid on top. Dew parks Rain's chair back by the barn as Aether helps the two little ghouls up and gets them settled. Dew sits on the other side of them, keeping them safely in the middle as Mikael starts to drive out to the pumpkins.
Rain leans back against Dew and Mountain's head whips around, taking in everything he can as they drive.
“Pumpkins!” He yells when they come into view and Rain cranes his neck to see too, breaking out into a big smile when he sees them.
Aether is the first off once the tractor stops, helping Mountain down and then Rain, setting him down when the little water ghoul asks him to.
“I can walk to get my pumpkin, promise!”
“Ok droplet, just watch your step ok?” Aether ruffles his hair and stands back while the two little ghouls once again link hands.
Aether and Dew stay close, watching after them, smiling at the way Mountain shifts his pace to be easier for Rain. Dew snaps a picture then turns the camera to get one of himself and Aether, heart full, at peace with having their day together.
They explore the pumpkins, picking them up and feeling them out, trying to find the very best ones to take home with them. Rain finds his quickly and Dew picks him up, holding him close to his warmth while Mountain continues searching with Aether.
He skips over to Rain and Dew once he finds his, a perfectly round little pumpkin in his hands. Aether finds a big one perfect for carving something intricate like he does every year.
They load back up on the tractor bed and head back up to the farm where Mikael makes them all hot chocolates and gives Rain and Mountain pumpkin coloring sheets to work on while they sip their warm drinks.
They both decide to leave them for him, little gifts of gratitude for allowing them to visit. Once they are done they each load up back in the car after giving Mikael a big hug.
Dew watches them both fall asleep in the backseat, their pumpkins held tightly on their laps as they name on the way home.
Later that night there are four beautiful pumpkins on the front steps of the Abbey.

Hey Hypno!
I really like your fics and I was wondering if you would maybe write some little phantom and cg Swiss where phantom is having a rough day just waiting for a meltdown and Swiss being there. Like he’s just getting overstimulated and overwhelmed by everything and he feels like everything is too much. But Swiss is there and helps him find food that feels safe and find things to doo that doesn’t make his brain feel yucky. And then when the meltdown comes swiss knows exactly what to do and helps phantom get through it
I hope you can understand what I mean, I have been craving swiss/Phantom. I’ve just been struggling with overstimulation a lot lately and it’s just been not great. But your fics bring a lot of comfort and always helps take my mind off things.
Massive thanks in advance if you choose to write anything, your writing is so good and brings so much comfort!

hope this is okay. warning for phantom's history of hurting themself during a meltdown but swiss keeps them safe here
From the moment they woke up, they knew what kind of day it was going to be. Phantom dropped just thinking about it, about all the ickiness they were feeling around them and decided to go find Swiss right away. They thought that if Swiss always knows how to make them feel better, he’ll be able to help today.
His door opens immediately after the little ghoul knocks. “Good morning, buggy. You alright?”
“Icky,” Phantom pouts, shaking their hands by their sides.
“Oh, I’m sorry! Would you like some support today?”
“Y–you always help,” the little ghoul says. “You always k–know what to do.”
“I like to think so, yeah,” Swiss chuckles. “Come in, then, I’ll do my best to make it better.”
Phantom runs inside and goes straight for one specific corner of Swiss’ room. They squeeze themself into it—a tight space between two cabinets.
The multi ghoul doesn’t waste any more time before grabbing everything he knows Phantom needs when they’re overwhelmed and overstimulated. He leaves most of it on his bed, but takes a few to the little ghoul in the corner.
Swiss crouches down by them and speaks in a quiet voice, “Here, have your chewy.”
“C–chewy?”
“Yeah, the watermelon,” the multi ghoul hands it to them and Phantom snatches it with a gasp—once they realize it’s their watermelon chewy—and immediately puts it in their mouth to gnaw on. Swiss smiles. “Can I touch your hair, buggy? So I can clip it away from your face. I’ve got the bat clips!”
Phantom nods and the multi ghoul gently moves their fluffy black and white hair away from their face and clips it back. Next, he offers them their noise canceling headphones and the little quintessence ghoul takes them and puts them on with a quiet sigh of relief.
“Do you want to sit in your corner a little bit or would you come out to me so I can help you change into something cozy?” Swiss always makes sure to call everything theirs when Phantom is like this; they get anxious about belonging and deserving, and the multi ghoul putting ‘your’ in front of everything helps.
“C–Cozy,” they tell him and start wiggling out of the tight space. Swiss backs up and goes to pick up the jammies so he’s ready to help Phantom get into them. They aren’t wearing much clothes and they get out of them quickly—staying only in their bat boxers—before sitting up on Swiss’ bed and sticking their legs out for the multi ghoul to put a soft onesie on them.
In no time at all they are dressed and comfortable.
“Do you want space or cuddles right now?” Swiss asks and Phantom doesn’t reply—they crawl towards the multi ghoul and plop themself in his lap. “Cuddles it is.”
Having received a clear answer, Swiss wraps his hands around them and squeezes—knowing they need a heavier, grounding touch when like this. For a few minutes they stay like that, until Phantom’s morning ickiness goes away and Swiss can find something sensory-friendly for them to do.
He knows it’s alright when the little ghoul begins to purr contentedly.
“One question, buggy,” Swiss starts, “do you think we can avoid a meltdown or is it happening regardless? Could you tell me?”
“Uh…” Phantom pulls back to look at him and scrunches up their eyebrows as they think, “fink is’ h–happenin’ rega’d–dle’.”
“Okay, thank you for telling me.” The multi ghoul smiles down at them. “We’ll handle it when it comes, yeah?”
“Mhm.”
“Do you want some breakfast now?” They nod and the two leave for the kitchen. Swiss turns to the cabinet containing Phantom’s safe foods right away, leaving them with a simple—not overwhelming—choice. He keeps it all sensory-friendly as they eat and when they’re done Swiss does the same in his room—just keeping them as comfortable as possible.
He knows he can’t keep this meltdown from happening, though, and while he’s not sure what exactly triggers it after a few hours, he sees Phantom falling into it just at the right moment. He knows their meltdowns and how to deal with them by now, having both experienced and discussed it a lot with Phantom while big.
They tend to get aggressive while in a meltdown, so Swiss shuffles in closer behind them and grabs their hands as gently as he can while still being firm enough to keep them from hurting themself. He crosses their arms over their chest and holds them against himself, rocking them back and forth as Phantom cries silent tears of frustration with a clenched jaw. Swiss doesn’t speak now—the little quintessence ghoul doesn’t like that, then.
It’s at least ten minutes before it stops and Phantom goes from being as tense as a guitar string to folding in on themself limply. That’s when Swiss speaks, “I’ve got you, buggy.”
They get really tired after a meltdown so the multi ghoul picks them up and moves them over to the top of the bed to get them cozy. He doesn’t break contact for even a second—even though it’s quite tricky—and keeps talking quietly through it.
“Was b–bad,” Phantom whines, “‘m s–s’eepy now.”
“Oh, I know, baby,” Swiss coos, “I know. Gonna get you to sleep in a second, yeah?”
“A–are you st–tayin’?”
“Of course I am.” The multi ghoul smiles at them kindly and gets settled next to them on the bed, leaving the little ghoul to choose if they want to cuddle or rather keep Swiss at an arm’s length. Phantom gnaws on their bottom lip for a second before shuffling closer—not quite snuggling into the big ghoul, but laying close enough for them to feel his body heat.
Still, they keep chewing their lip and Swiss knows they want something more. “What do you need, buggy?”
“C–can I hold your h–hand?” they ask shyly—as if the other would refuse. He doesn't, of course, extending his hand for Phantom to take. They grab Swiss’ index finger with one of their own little hands and use the other one to bring the multi ghoul’s entire forearm to their chest—holding it like a stuffie.
It’s an adorable sight; Swiss could just about melt.
“Thank–k you, Swissy,” Phantom mumbles, finally relaxed and half-asleep already.
“Sleep well, buggy.”

I'm getting sick so naturally I'm projecting
Cw: sick little Aether, he's so brave, a bath
Aether sniffles, rubbing his nose on his hoodie sleeve. He finally caught the bug going through the Abbey and he's miserable, waking up little with his mind cloudy.
Everything hurts, his teeth ache all the way down to his toes and he's sweating but freezing all at once. He's not sure what time it is but it's still dark when he looks out the window. It worries him that Dew won't be awake or that he'll be sleeping and Aether would feel bad for waking him up.
He grabs his blanket, coughing so hard his chest hurts and he feels himself slipping further down. Omega is gone for the weekend, filling in at another infirmary so it's gotta be Dew, he needs him, especially as his mind starts getting more hazy.
He pulls his blanket over his head and heads for his closet, searching for his soother that he keeps for moments just like this. It still feels wrong as it slips into his pocket, like he shouldn't need it but he does and Dew and Omega had both told him it was ok…and they never lied.
Aether peeks out of his room, finding the dark hallway empty and he squeezes his little moon to light the way to Dew's room. He tiptoes past the rooms, careful to not make noise because he doesn't want to disturb anyone or get caught by someone he's not ready to have see him yet.
He knocks on the door, then again a little harder until he hears Dew moving inside the room.
“Crux? You ok?” Dew kneels and holds his hands.
“Don’ feel good…” His voice cracks and he sniffles again.
“Oh no.” He holds his hand against his forehead and frowns. “That bug got you, huh?”
“Yeah. Everything hurts real bad and I'm hot but I keep shivering.” He feels tears in his eyes. “Can I stay with you?”
“Of course you can but-”
He flinches, waiting to be told he's actually not allowed, that he needs to go back to his room and deal with it.
“Rain's in there, is that ok?”
“Is…is he little too?”
“No, he's in there trying to be a lizard and still all my warmth!”
It makes Aether giggle to think about Rain as a lizard. He's not sure he's really ready but he wants Dew…
“I can tell him you need me. He'll understand, Crux.”
“No…s’ok..if he's ok…”
Dew hugs him. “Rain loves you. He'd never judge you, mo ghrá. Let me just tell him you're coming in ok. Be careful though…he might try to latch onto you too.”
He laughs again but it leads to a coughing fit and he whimpers, his chest and back aching from the force of it.
He hears Dew speaking French through the slightly open door and his heart jumps nervously when he hears Rain's response.
“Dew…”
“Yeah?”
“M’nervous…”
He bends to kiss the top of his head. “It's ok to be nervous. If you need it to just be me and you that's ok, Rain will understand.”
But he doesn't want Rain to have to leave, that's not fair so he takes a big, wheezing breath and holds his blanket closer and takes hold of Dew's hand.
Dew smiles and squeezes his hand in encouragement. Rains sitting up on the bed with the blankets pulled up even as the fire blazes in the fireplace.
He smiles softly at the little ghoul as he hides slightly behind Dew. “Hi Poussière d'étoiles.” (Stardust)
He'd pulled the edge of his blanket up into his mouth, the soother tucked into his pocket. “Hi…”
He coughs again and Dew rubs his back through it, frowning at how congested he sounds.
“Ok, you're going to get a nice warm bath so your nose isn't all stuffy, that sound ok? Then you can hop up in bed and we can watch a movie and get some sleep.”
He nods quietly, head hanging from how bad it hurts from all the pressure. Dew rests his hands on his shoulders and rubs gently.
“Can I get you anything, Poussière d'étoiles? Tea or some soup?” Rain asks, already moving to stand. “I'm sure we have some of those suckers left too to help with that cough.”
“Sea le do thoil.” He whimpers and shakes his head. “I mean yes…please.”
His voice is so small Dew looks to Rain. “Can you grab him some other jammies too please?”
“I got jammies on…”
He smiles. “You do, but new ones might feel better after your bath.”
He just nods, too tired to really follow what Dew is saying. Everything still hurts and his head is so stuffy he can barely convince his legs to keep standing.
Dew helps him into the bathroom, lifting him to sit on the counter while he starts the water in the tub.
“I'll step out so you can get undressed but I'm going to sit in here once you're in the bath ok? I don't feel comfortable leaving you when you feel like this.”
“K Dew.”
Dew turns to see him, smaller than before and he frowns, texting Omega once the little ghoul is undressing, letting him know what's going on and just how far down Aeth has gone.
“*Its not common for him but I've seen it a few times. He'll need more comfort but he won't fight it as much. Tell him I love him.*”
Dew puts his phone away after Aether calls him in, smiling at how many bubbles there are. “Comfy?”
“S’nice and warm.”
“Good! Omega texted me, he says he loves you.”
“I love him too and I miss him a whole bunch.” He frowns, leaning his head against the wall. “Everything feels bad…”
“I know, Crux, I'm sorry. The bath will help.”
He stays in until he gets too hot, his fever flaring. Dew wraps him in a towel and goes out to get the jammies from Rain, smiling at the thin pants and shirt with stars all over them.
“I didn't know which ones he likes best.”
“These are perfect.”
He helps him get dressed and holds his hand as they make their way back into the room. Rain is sitting on the end of the bed with tea and there is soup sitting on the bedside table.
“Aeth, would you like me to go? You won't hurt my feelings if you just need it to be you and Dewdrop.”
He shakes his head, groggy from the fever. “No, can stay…”
Rain frowns and walks over, holding the back of his cool hand against Aether's forehead. The little ghoul presses into the touch, sighing at the cool contact.
“Can I help you cool down, Mon amour? You're really warm, I can't imagine that it feels very nice.”
“Told you he's being a lizard.” Dew jokes.
Aether giggles and nods at Rain, allowing himself to be pulled to the bed and wrapped in Rain's cool arms, both of their shirts thin enough that he can feel it.
“Better?”
He hums and Dew wanders over, carefully offering the soother. He expects a fight but doesn't get one, the little ghoul just takes it and shuts his eyes, nuzzling closer to Rain.
Dew climbs up on the other side, keeping space to not make Aether too warm while he cuddles against Rain. He tucks his little blanket up beside him, his little fingers curling around it immediately.
“Do you want to try some soup or tea?”
He shakes his head, eyes still closed. “No thank you.”
Dew smiles at his sleepy voice. “Do you want a movie on, Crux?”
He makes a sleepy little noise before his breathing evens out, pressed close to Rain's chest. Dew smiles while the water ghoul strokes his hair, humming quietly until Aether gets chilly and turns to press closer to Dew.
He kisses the top of his head and holds the little ghoul a little tighter, proud of him for coming to him when he needed it, for stepping out of his comfort zone and allowing Rain to stay.
Aether grabs Rain's hand in his sleep, moving it up against his face and the water ghoul smiles.
“I'm really proud of him.”
Dew nods, adjusting his temperature so it's not too warm for the little ghoul. “Me too. More than he'll ever know.”
