It’s kinda cool how someone can just pop into your life all of a sudden and become so important to you within such a small amount of time. I think that’s what makes life so interesting though. There’s always a reason to be hopeful for the future because you never know what good things will come your way next.

Card of the Day:

Have a big decision to make, so I decided to break out the Celtic Cross spread, and now I'm going to work through it here.

First impression: mostly positive, but definitely some concerning elements. Lots of Major Arcana, swords and wands, no pentacles

3/10 of the cross, 4/12 of the total being Major Arcana makes sense with how big this decision is. It will impact my life for the next 6 months at least.

2/10; 3/12 swords and 3/10; 3/12 wands fits both the type of work I'd be taking on and the conflict I expect will be involved

And the cups to round it out, because of course there's an emotional element to this decision as well

The Star jumping out is very interesting both as itself, but also because it could be a reference to somebody who is tied up in all this

There's also a lot of court cards, which will be a challenge for me (3/10; 4/12). Some other notable elements: the tree of The Tower matches those of The Moon. The lightning in both the Father of Wands and The Tower. The crescent moon in both The Moon and 9 of Wands.

Digging into the cross itself we have:

1. Heart of the matter: Father of Wands. Charisma, compassion and steadiness in conflict. The qualities that have led to people asking me to help

2. Opposing factors: 5 of Wands. Will taking this on be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Will I be able to maintain that steadiness?

3. Root cause: 8 of Swords. Surrounded by challenges that can't be ignored anymore. I need to decide to wade in or walk away, fully

4. Past: The Moon. It has been too easy to get lost in the shifting moonlit landscape, jumping out shadows

5. Goal: 5 of Cups. At first seems strange here, but on reflection feels like a warning to think before acting, and truly consider the consequences

6. Future: 9 of Cups, very reassuring. Happiness and good results on the way, if I do this right

7. Querent: Mother of Swords. The other side to the Father of Wands in terms of what I bring to the table. Incredibly perceptive, with the potential to be very critical. In balance they have great potential, but truth with compassion has the potential to be a deadly weapon, and compassion over softening the truth makes too dull a blade.

8. External influences: The World. The end of a journey, the completion of a cycle

9. Hopes and fears: Daughter of Wands. Passion, growth. Stubbornness.

10. The Tower: Lightning strike, forest fire. Great destruction is sometimes necessary for new growth.

Jumper: The Star. Peace and hope. All will be well, and no matter how dark it gets, the stars are there

Bottom of the deck: Father of Swords. Sound judgement, putting your emotions aside. I've been getting better at feeling my feelings, but this might be a situation that requires pure logic to tease out.
