Christopher Eccleston and Doctor Who, Dispelling Myths and Rumors

I’ve seen so many posts today about how Christopher Eccleston hates Doctor Who, how he hated his time as the Doctor, how he hates the fans, how he doesn’t respect or love the show. It makes me so mad. 

Chris/Nine is the one who got New!Who up and off the ground, gave the Doctor a face, gave a new generation a Doctor to fall in love with. He dedicated 9 months of 16-18 hour days to this show to get it going, he’s an incredibly private man who did press junkets for us. He loved and respected and admired RTD’s writing so much, he stepped outside his comfort zone to make RTD’s vision come true (and it was RTD’s vision—Chris was his first choice for the part). 

So below are some quotes that I hope will remind everyone that Chris is still our Doctor, still part of this Doctor Who family, and does not deserve the antagonism that I’ve seen lately.
