      “the worst thing about spring is how beautiful it looks outside, but it hasn’t actually heated up much..” vana regrets only throwing her denim jacket on as the wind blows around them. “so you get dressed thinking it’s warm out, because look!! --” she reaches a hand up to the sky, pointing at the sun shining brightly. “the sky is blue and the sun is out, but how was i to know there’d be this cool breeze??” she lead them into the coffee shop, ducking inside quickly. “here i was thinking i’d order an iced coffee, but not so much anymore. -- what do you want?? my treat!!”

❝ THAT’S  ACTUALLY  ADORABLE  ,  talking  to  your  plants  ,  who  would’ve  thought  ?  ❞  Andi  lets  out  a  breezy  laugh  ,  her  hand  extending  ever  so  slightly  towards  the  plant  in  Vana’s  hands  before  hesitating  ,  ❝ may  I  ….  ?  Could  I  touch  it ? Wow  ,  that   sounds  silly  doesn’t  it   ?  It  just  looks  like  it  would  be  fun  ,  I  dunno  ,  ❞  she  shrugs  ,  her  eyes  crinkling  under  laughter  .   She  was  uncharacteristically  happy   ,   but  she  wasn’t  one  to  question  the  source  for  these  random  bursts  that  filled  her  chest  .  Instead  ,  she  just  rode  the  good  feelings  until  they  were  gone  once  again  ( though  she  was  secretly  hoping  this  feeling  would  never  leave  again )  .  Blue eyes  met  up  with  brown  ,  curiosity  getting  the  best  of  her  .

        “nooo --- it’s kind of embarrassing.. but i swear it works.” vana smiles sheepishly, gaze falling back to the small plant she’s holding in her hands. at the request, vana stands slightly taller, arms reaching towards her a bit to give andi a good look at the little greenery. “it doesn’t. i don’t know if this does anything.. but i also kind of i guess, wipe down my aloe plant especially.. because dust collects on it.. s’pretty smooth. most succulents are pretty smooth i think, i don’t know.” she wishes she was confident with the knowledge. is it so bad she wants to impress andi with what she knows?? though just having her so close in her presence is enough to quicken her heart. god she can even feel her cheeks heat slightly. vana so desperately wishes she could channel her inner cool when she was in these situations, though instead she finds herself fumbling over her words and coming off an idiot.

      “i think you should get one too.” she murmurs, looking up from the small succulent in her hand. maybe livana has been going a bit overboard with her collection of green babies in her apartment, but they bring a new bright energy along with them and plus, vana likes having something to take care of. “it’s been.. at least two full weeks, maybe more.. since i got all those plants and they’re all happy and growing -- thought one of them would have died on me, but you know, i read that you should talk to your plants.. so, don’t laugh at me, but i’ve been doing that and it seems to be working..” she shrugs, grateful for her long hair that can shield her face from the other as her cheeks warm with her confession. // @ofandis

      “the last time i was here was definitely in.. i wanna say the sixth grade??” vana knew a tuesday night was going to be the perfect time to bring xiomara to the inner harbor. the weekends were way to busy to actually enjoy any of the exhibits. this part here would probably be the hardest decision tonight though, and she’s not quite sure how they’re going to make it. livana looks from the aquarium to the science centre and that was really just the beginning. “it’s kind of misleading when you hear about the inner harbor i think.. cause i always thought it was just this one big place but.. we can’t do everything tonight, but we have to start somewhere..” if xiomara doesn’t have a preference, vana might just have to play a game of eenie meenie miney mo.  // @xioriv

how has life as a plant mom been going??

“so far so good. i mean it’s only been just about over a week? almost two? only time will tell. but so far all of them are still alive and well and i already want another.. i always hear people say that about tattoos.. once you get one, you keep wanting more. think it can definitely be said about plants too.”

Dream job?

“i’m doing my final practicum in the oncology unit at the children’s hospital and my fingers are crossed to get hired on once i graduate. it’s really really hard to get any of the jobs at the children’s hospital though.. i would also be pretty happy in the NICU.”
