Living Machine Art Artist: My name is Lee Lightning Cato and self-taught visual artist, illustrator, author and military vehicle collector. All my life I have been interested in various types of vehicles and machinery. This ranges from cars, planes, ships, space shuttles to military hardware. From an early age I remember being fascinated with any books or TV shows that contained anthropomorphic machines. Military Vehicle Owner: I currently own four military vehicles and am the youngest known female armor owner in the world. I am a CFF and MVPA member. I have traveled all over the US and Europe to look at vehicles and meet other armor owners. Hey you have one of the most beautiful jonmartins I’ve ever seen, I just wanted to tell you that.
Thank you so much!!!!!!!! That’s so sweet! 💖
Here’s an obligatory safehouse-era drawing because the idea of “Martin holding a baby sheep” and “Jmart help some people sheer sheep” was beamed directly into my brain like a vision to a profit at approximately 2:58 AM two nights ago
Commission me đź’› ko-fi
[id: the image is a digital illustration of Jon and Martin from The Magnus Archives, they are both holding baby sheep. Martin has medium light toned skin, short curly silver hair, glasses, some stubble, and he is wearing a blue sweater and a tan jacket. He is looking at the white lamb he is holding, while petting its cheek with one hand. He is smiling and appears to be talking. Jon has medium dark brown skin, long salt and pepper hair in a bun, a short beard, glasses, and a yellow sweater that looks too big for him and a navy jacket. He is looking at Martin, his mouth is slightly open, and he is blushing faintly. He is holding a tan lamb the looks like it might be nibbling on his finger. They look like they are walking forward in a field of large green hills. End Id]

if you feel like you don’t know who you are
or if you’re wondering if you really have your own personality and self, or if you’re just whoever you adapt to be in different places and around different people.
I’ve wondered the same things, and here is how I determine who I am:
Start with the basic things. Things you can’t change about yourself. Reassure yourself that those are part of your identity and aren’t going to change because of circumstance. (i.e i have naturally brown hair, white skin, blue eyes, and I am 6 foot 1. those are things that cannot be changed.)
Begin to go a little deeper. Think about things that happened in your past that cannot be changed. Those things are unique to you and your experience. They cannot be undone, and they are part of what solidifies you as a person. (i.e where you went to school, when you lost your baby teeth, when you first went to an amusement park).
Now ask yourself what you believe. This can be tough, but really dig down in your mind and determine what things you believe and will not be changed. Those are a huge part of who you are, and will remain constant even when your mood doesn’t. (i.e I believe in God, i believe all animals should be treated with kindness, I believe that nature should be preserved.)
Create. Next time you feel like you are losing who you are, you can go back and look at the things you made. Your creations are yours, and yours alone, and preserve emotion and belief. The creation will always reflect what you were feeling at the time, so you don’t have to worry about forever losing that emotion. (i.e some people paint scenes they don’t want to forget, i personally write about times i felt like i belong, some people write melodies that remind them of a certain emotion.)
Last note: don’t worry about not having your own personality. I promise you are your own person, and are capable of things no one else is.Â

It spoke to you so strangely, in a voice that slipped between waves of softly droning static from a television screen.

I worked with toddlers and pre schoolers for three years. Sometimes I accidentally slip and tell a friend to say bye to an inanimate object (“say bye bus!”) & occasionally they unthinkingly just do it.
