When I think of Baltimore and independent music, I usually think of Sister Polygon. And while, Repo Fam (Michelle Peña) sound like they could be on this label, instead they are on Gentle Reminder, which I’ve never heard of before.
Repo Fam, sound like an amazing cross of Sandra Bell and Mission of Burma. If “Skip to My Lou” is any indication, then this release is going to be a lou lou.
Peruse the Gentle Reminder catalogue and be sure to listen to El Perro Del Mar and The Embassy. I’m not sure how this Baltimore label is connected to great Swedish music, but it clearly is.
